Searching does do wonders. Seriously tho, if you're expecting to be able to run this, you're going to have to do a lot of reading & research. Then when things break, a lot more reading an research. Then you create a post when you've exhausted all other efforts - and you tell us what you've tried, see how that works?
When you make posts like this, it's pretty obvious you didn't search, read, research - or really put any work or thought of your own into figuring this out.
We don't spoon feed.

HILARIOUS!!
Single best thread ever! This is too much. I love it. Where does the insanity stop? HAHA!

I wasn't even searching for the Android ROM and I found a writeup on it like 4 posts up from this one...
I'm gonna suggest that you seriously consider getting your head checked.

Can someone help me flash a rom?

I have had htc phones for about 5 years now. I recently got a tilt 2 and I don't like the lag and some of the other items. I really like the energy rom but will it make things run faster and easier? Will it delete all my programs/apps when I flash it? I have never flashed a rom before so I was wondering how I can do it? Can I put a cab file on a storage card and install that way?

Well, looks like I get to be the barrier of the news for you.... All the information you need is in the roms sub forum.... Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development
You'll want to read the first page of each of the stick threads and maybe a bit more but all the information is there. Gives you step by step guides on what you need to do.
To answer some of your questions. Energy Roms tend to be very quick yes... will you have to reinstall all your programs? Yes, when you flash you wipe the whole device and start from scratch... it's like loading a new OS on your PC, you have to reinstall everything you use. Can you put a cab file on your storage card and install it that way? That's how most people install programs I believe. Now, if you were refering to flashing your phone from the storage card... yes you can do that which you will read about however most people just connect it to their computers and flash that way.
Good luck. Any further questions regarding flashing your phone can probably be posted in the threads (those "sticky" threads) regarding flashing the phone... hard spl, how to flash guide etc etc
if you haven't already done so, follow the direction given by Aaron McCarthy. Make sure you check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540 and then follow the direction, if any, from the creator of the rom as to how to install it. The benefits of flashing are definitely there.

Help with SDK, ADB, Root, Reflash

Hi, I am new to Android (with Incredible) and have been waiting for custom roms to become available until today. I am ready to take the plunge but don't know the entire process. dreamersipaq's thread below surely helps but is there an application that will take the path of the custom rom and does everything (SDK, ADB, root, reflash) all at once? I know it's almost wishful thinking but coming from jailbroken iPhone world (with one application doing everything) I thought I'd ask. Between the steps above, which ones are critical vs. optional? Can someone please shed some light in an easy to understand language? Finally what does wipe mean?
My apologies again for being naive You guys are great help. Thanks in advance.

Maybe I'll answer this when I get home today and have an Hour to kill. I'm not trying to be rude, but read some threads like the root process, my hot to, reflash process, etc... You're asking us to summarize 2 - 3 month's worth or work at once.... kinda hard. Also, there is no one "god" app to do it all..
The steps are
1) install SDK, drivers, etc.. (adb is part of sdk)
2) Root Phone
3) Run Reflash
Then we'll talk about custom roms.
Perfect, thanks a lot. Sorry again about the dumb question

Or you can wait another few weeks and there probably will be a "one click" solution that does everything for you. They have that for the Droid, but there just hasn't been enough time yet for that to be developed for the Incredible. We will get there, it just takes time.

I'll keep this short, but the two important steps that really help all of this is:
A: Download the Adroid SDK into ANY directory you want to.
B: In the Android SDK installation instructions page, it mentions a step to add the path to your ADB executable to your PATH environment variable on your computer. Do this so you can use ADB from any folder on your computer, and not have to worry about always running it from the folder you downloaded it to.

[Q] noob - 2.20?

How do I know if my phone is 2.20?
I can't seem to find anywhere in my "about" section anything that has these numbers... or even 1.85...
*edit* Found it! I'm on 3.18. Now with that being said, I have been searching and searching on how to root for 3.18. I have found several threads where a user will ask if it's do able yet and they get flamed with "it's been asked a thousand times, search!' or "look in the forums"... Well I am a complete noob and I can't find it... please point me in the right direction??????
Your first wrong decision was to put this thread in the general section.
Now I'll give you some clues what to do, and you shouldn't ask anything else as it will be really easy for you to google it and find out all the details:
1) Unlock your phone at htcdev.com (careful, it will wipe out all your data and there's no another way to do it);
2) Flash a clockworkmod recovery for One X via fastboot flash recovery filename.img;
3) Flash a supersu package via recovery;
4) Enjoy your root privileges.
I underlined keywords to look for in google.

Thank you x1000!!! I got so overwhelmed very quickly with all the "experts" out there and I could not find the right material. The two techniques I tried failed and I didn't want to brick my phone because I didn't know what I was doing...

It's pretty hard to brick a hox, There is almost always a solution, read carefully but don't worry too much
I'm really starting to think this isn't meant to be... When I go to install Android SDK on my computer it says to extract the file straight to C:\ and then I "should" have a folder named C:\Android, well, I don't. Kept re trying and re trying, nothing.... Then I go to ask a question and I get the infamous I cannot page because I have less than 10 posts... Think I am going to give it up... Oh well...

This is all the tools you'll ever need on your PC. There are two of them, including fastboot.exe. No need to install the whole Android SDK.

Don't forget to enable USB debugging in your current ROM or else fastboot will not work. And install HTC drivers, but I assume you already did that.

Samsung Galaxy Tab3 7.0 (2013 version) is super slow, even after factory reset :(

Hello all!
I am in dire need of assistance and unsure of what to do next
The tablet I have is a Samsung Galaxy Tab3 7.0<stands for 7 inches? Model number is: SM-T210 and the Android version is 4.2.2. I believe this is the 2013 version tablet.
Short Version: :
I need some help and understanding of what order to do these things.
I read that installing a custom ROM helps with the performance a lot
Do I install the custom ROM first? Or do I need a custom recovery ( TWRP being the popular on)
Also, does my device need to be rooted?
A little confused at the order, what I do/do not need, and where to download all this from
Any more enlightnemt about what I should do next will be really helpful.
Otherwise I will just have to purchase a tablet :? (will installing a custom rom, rooting etc actually make my painfully slow tab3 faster? Or shall I just buy a new tablet?)
Long Version
Just some background info this current tablet:
The other day I 'foraged and found' the Samsug Galaxy Tab3 that my father was given for free with the purchase of his Samsung phone back in 2013. The tablet was hardly used, no files (photos or documents), some apps on there, basic use from him at work. I have used it for a few days and it is quite slow/performance etc. This is after the factory reset, but not sure if I will keep it as its still a bit sluggish and driving me nuts!. I have performed the standard and basic 'how to make your tablet faster', by turning animations to 0.5, downloading a differnt launcher, moving apps to microSD card etc but it doesnt help a lot.
So I was going to purchase another cheap(ish) tablet, but some wandering research has allowed me to stumble upon info about 'installing custom ROM's, flashing, backing up using TWRP custom recovery'.
Now I am no noob when it comes to tech. as 'I am a 90's kid who grew up with it' . But I am also no expert, however I come with open arms when learning about new techie methods/techniques.
And this installing custom ROM's sounds interesting, especially as my tablet is not really usable everyday, so I dont have anything to lose by tweaking it!
So I thought, lets start by watching a video 'How to Install A Custom ROM On Any Android Device (2018)'> But then it mentions that I need a custom recovery, TWRP being the popular one> But then that video tutorial says that I need my device to be rooted! So thats 3 different video tutorials that I need to follow. But I read that it does not need to be rooted, then I read that you dont need a PC for custom ROM's but some videos use it..oh God! As you can probably tell, this is really confusing for someone approaching this new area of 'rooting/custom rom'.
I would really like some help/advice about where I should start, what tutorials to use (I do like videos), what to download, what devices I need, softwares etc!
Hopefully the information I have provided helps
Thank you!
This is not the right forum for your tablet. You have a Galaxy Tab 3, this forum is for the Galaxy Tab S3.
You should head over to the Galaxy Tab 3 forum.

No one is able to help?
Might just have to buy a new tablet.
Was hoping I could experiment/test with this tablet I currently have
I m not familiar with your device, but steps are always the same: 1. Flash recovery with Odin (TWRP for example) 2. Copy Rom and Gapps to your device's SD 3. Boot to recovery 4. Follow ROM installation instructions. Happy Flashing, don't forget to enable USB debugging. Cheers A

Hey!
So I do not need to root my tablet? Many people say you have to? Maybe its best I do that?
Also, many different tutorials show different orders of installing and using different methods?
And, can I just do everything on my tablet or do I have to use my PC?
Do I need to install any apps or just to to certain websites on the tablet and install things?
Any specific links and order of doing them would help a bunch!
P.S What do you mean by "copy Gaps"? Do you mean apps?

Like I said I am not familiar with your device so I can't give you such a specific advice. You have to find out by yourself. Read threads, completely. Follow things being discussed already and find solutions for problems that's been already solved. This is what I do
