Hi there,
I wanted to upgrade my Qtek 9090. But i dropped it on the floor and now the screen turned white, but it still reacts on touch it. I dont know what is wrong with it, and i dont want to open is. Thus i want to make somebody very happy with it.
There is only a catch. I live in the Netherlands and i don't want to invest in sending the thing off to somewhere in the world unless somebody will send me something in return.
So my question is who want to invest in sending something back for this phone? And will have the honor to do so?
The phone will come with the usb-cradle, adapter and the phone of course.
So let's see what you guys will send me in return. Most original reply wins!

Hi
I´m really interested as I can re start working again with that wonderfull device
Hope you can consider me
Thanks!
Sell it on eBay, I'm sure someone will buy it.
if its available
If you have paypal I'd be more than willing to send the money to ship it. Would use it to help development and porting for other devices. If someone has a need to use it as an actual phone that would obviously take precedence. If you happen to choose to send it my way just PM me and I'm sure to check it throughout the day.
Generous gesture to whoever you choose to send the device to! Great community we have here!
i may be interested in it too, second phone will speed up my development process

XeneRoX it's not my idea to get money for this phone. It served me perfectly and i've got enough HTC phones to keep me busy.
As I said in my first post: I want to make somebody happy with it, but if i invest my time and money in sending the device i want something in return. Dont think in big expansive stuff but original or something different.
To give u an idea what i mean with original. My girlfriend came up with the idea that who ever receives my qtek will send me a photo of him and the family he settled with. Please note this is my first ever HTC device and is my "little" baby.
So please spark up those creativity thoughts and let me know what you came up with.
Oh almost forgot i wil post a picture of the phone tomorrow.
as much as i like your contest and i like that its another give away contest on the forum <something that i havent seen to any other forums so far?,i dont find a very good idea for people to send private infos to total strangers.on the internet
i dont want to imply anything bad and i think its nice that you dont wish to make any profit of it by selling it on ebay BUT when you said in the end of your post for whoever wins the phone to send you a photo of him once he receives the phone, that i thought it was too bit risky.
you see the thing with the internet is that anything can happen becouse you dont know who is who and you only see a chat name and thats all.so unless it has to do with online stores like ebay for eg i wouldnt recommend to people to send those kind of private infos to strangers like a photo of themshelfs for eg.
and then again sorry i did not try to insault you.its just the way i see it.
hello,
I'm Mihai from Romania, I'm having my master degree at the Economics University and I think it is a great phone, (you know like the german cars,it will last you forever).
In exchange for the phone I can give you a representation in wood of Count Dracula (from Bram Stoker novel Dracula) or if you like art I can make a photo album with my city Oradea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oradea) all pictures made by me.I hope that you will be interested in the exchange.
Thanks,Mihai

In that case, here's my gift...
I'll take the phone around with me as I travel to different places and e-mail you pictures of the phone in different areas. (e.g, If I go to a lake I'll take a picture of it by the lake, if I go to vacation somewhere...)
I could even make a website with archives of everywhere the phone has visited.

I will ship the device, i will pay for shipping the device. So the only thing I ask is for the person to send me or do something original in return. As you said it will cost me 50 euro max 2 send it somewhere on this earth. So i dont know what your problem is with my proposition? And I will do it my way!
Please read my posts it clearly reads i will send the device to the person who wins (all costs included) and the only thing I ask is that somebody thinks about a original idea or gift and do/send something when they receive the device. I dont know where your trust issues are based upon but if you dont have anything good to say about my post, dont reply at all!

I have dug and dug - can't find the company on BBB online- the address brings up a residential location, on Gmaps you can even see someone's pickup outside the garage.
I cannot find the business listed on the FL Dept. of State corporation search (www.sunbiz.org)
I ran the phone number listed on the site and found this:
This site is a scam so don't use it they will rob you
communicareinc.com — This site is a scam and this is the email address that they use [email protected] and Phone: 1-888-357-0451 the claim to sell gsm unlocked cell phones

So, why is the number linked to a different business name, that also "sells phones"? - although there was a positive review- though it could be BS...-
hate to be so salty, but I straight up emailed the guy and said that if a successful transaction were to take place, I was certain I could send more buisness his way-thinking of everyone here of course. More specifically, if someone on XDA said they bought a TP2 from this site, I would be much more inclined. Any research anyone else can do to verify/disqualify this place would be great.
all those lil sites are bull!! I emailed back and forth with some guy from 1 of these sites, I asked him 2 send me a pic of the phone and I would buy it. The no count Ass**** sent me a pic of a TOUCH PRO!!! and 1 of those factory pics u can get on any site, unbelievable...
To play safe, just buy from HTC authorized reseller. Why bother how much they sell and you will have worried free and no headache.
Just received one of these from this seller on eBay. On the face of it, they look like nice little slip cases with the added benefit of being genuine Samsung (according to the auction title).
However, upon opening the case, I decided to return to the seller; these are the reasons I sent to him via eBay messaging:
Major_Sarcasm on 10 Sep said:
Hi,
I'm sorry, but I'd like to return this case for the following reasons:
1. The hole cut out for the speaker is in completely the wrong place for this phone. Even if you put the phone in upside down, it's the wrong side! The hole doesn't correspond to any other piece of equipment on the device.
2. You state that the case is "Genuine Samsung" in the auction title and state the "Brand" as Samsung also. All the Samsung products that I've bought in the past have at least a card backer with the 'genuine' logo on it and a part number.
3. The auction title states that the case is made of Leather. Then in the auction text, it states 'faux leather'. It can't be both. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the 'faux leather' text or I wouldn't have bought the product.
Regards, Steve

Hi John
As requested via ebay messaging, please find attached photos of the case, packaging and my Galaxy S2 for comparison. As you can see, the speaker on the S2 is at the bottom and the hole on the case is at the other end. Without mentioning the other things that I detailed in my previous message, I didn’t put the phone in the case because I don’t think it will fit at all well and indeed will likely stretch the case. It’s also not long enough and the phone will stick out the top. I know this because the case that I have currently is damn near the same length and my phone sticks out the top of that (the reason that I was replacing it!)
This case clearly isn’t for a Galaxy S2. The picture of a dog you can see on the back of my phone is a thin sticker and adds no measurable bulk to the device.

I have now completed the eBay returns procedure and will be posting later today. I will update the thread if I ever get a refund. Also, I'm gonna link to this thread in the negative feedback that I give the seller
I've also just noticed that the cheeky sod has updated the auction text to include a note about the hole. See the pics below. His description of the hole is just laughable.
Edit: My amusing communications with cheap gadget are continued in post 14
Based on the position of the speaker hole, I think it's a case for the Glaxy S. The seller is just being a cheapskate and try to sell them for S2 owner
Hopefully, I'll get my money back.
Big update to OP. LOL.
Funny how "hanging accessories" is more important than hearing your fone ringing, since it's a fone after all. Smart ass

Wife's phone actually. My phone is in the pics. Taking pics of my phone with my phone would've been clever indeed.
Her phone is completely stock and I'm not allowed to touch it ;-)
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Nah you don't need to be clever, you can achieve this simply by bending time.
This is where I've been going wrong. I updated her SGS2's camera firmware last night. All I have to do now is retrospectively apply the pink fix to the photos above. Anyone have a spare chrono-bending appliance handy?
you know what? i have bought the same thing....it is obviously made for sgs1. i gave them negative feedback and i told them i won't send them back the case because i have no time to go to the post office. they fully refunded me and asked me to change the feedback. so i've got the money back and i forced the case with an object to make the phone fit. i think it is one of the best looking cases although it is not a genuine s2 case. could somebody post ebay links to original sgs2 cases looking like this?
They've agreed to refund me. I've returned the case.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
argh, how frustrating. i use a 'sock' for my phone, its nice as I can quickly wipe my screen when putting it in or taking it out...(i hate fingerprints)
Indeed. I never put my phone in the case that I have at the moment unless the screen is clean. My reasoning is that if it has grease on it when it goes in, it'll accumulate in the case lining. Yuck.

And indeed, I have had a refund and ebay has closed the case. Now I have a dilemma; Do I leave negative feedback and link to this thread for the world to see or give them neutral feedback and do the same or do as they ask and leave positive?
To be honest, I want to leave negative or neutral just because they've pissed me about so much over a case that's clearly not for the phone it's advertised as being for, made me wait nearly a week for a refund and I had to hassle them for it too.
Thoughts, oh wise XDA users?
Neutral.
I voided my warranty and your mum.

Not sure how much it would cost to send.
I don't have a PayPal account here.

Would being in an aircraft hold make it explode?
If shipping to the US would be silly, cost-wise, would the Netherlands be a viable option for you? I'd cover your expenses, naturally.......
It's just mine is going flat and the rip-offs for a replacement are plainly absurd over here.

I found an ad for a HTC one X that has apparently only been used for 3 days, so it is sorta brand new. The seller is asking for 425$ and most of the One Xs seem to retail for 600-700$. I've never bought a phone like this before and I am just a little skeptical. Is there any possible way to be scammed, i.e could this be a duped/fake One X? I guess my question is what sort of inspections can I perform to ensure that I am not being scammed and that the phone is in great condition? Thank you in advance.
Yes people can scam you but this is a great community. You can ask for imei number and check phone recycle sites to see if it recognised it. Also when paying through paypal you can always raise a dispute if he fails to send it and claim a refund. Request photos of it wrapped ready to send. See photos before u buy with his xda name and date on paper in the pic with the phone and get tracking number. If its in marketplace its a good place to buy people are trust worthy here just request pics like I said and stop worrieng

Ahh I see. I just messaged him asking for the IMEI number. I am actually meeting this seller in person. We are just going to meet at a local coffee shop and make the exchange so I will get to see the phone prior to buying it. Anything I should look out for/inspect? Haha, you're right, I should stop worrying. Thank for your advice man!!!

These are good things to look out for to serve as a starting point. Also, are you a developer or you just want to own this vicious beast? You might want to check or ask the seller if this was a developer phone before?
I usually do the usual bootloader recovery check (Volume Down+Power Button) just to check if the bootloader is already unlocked, if it is the next question would be if the phone is rooted. Alhough rooting a phone is usually safe in the hands of people who knows how to deal with it, you might want to cover this ground as well...
I don't know man, seems kinda cheap for a phone that's been lauched just a couple of weeks ago.Check that everything works,a friend of mine had to go with his One X back at the store to get a new one because the camera wasn't working.Check absolutly everything before you buy the phone, even look for dead pixels or things like that.
Ow,and watch out because the Chinese already lauched replicas for One X.
