Hello XDA!
I was just wondering, is it possible to take the .apk's off a HD Sense ROM and put them in a normal Sense ROM? I'm having trouble getting a decent Desire HD Sense ROM to work right, and I was thinking if I was able to take certain .apk's off the HD ROMs and merging them with the normal Desire ROM I'm about to install.
Is that possible?
Short answer: No. Totally different environment...
I only know that you can get the flipping clock widget to work on 2.0 and up...

Linkage?
ANY Widgets (espeshially the People Widget) that can be ported from the HD Sense UI to the normal Desire UI will be like a godsend

Hello everyone,
I tried looking for some information on this topic, but was not able to find any.
Is there a way to import all the widgets from sense ui to launcher? I have tried for example the clock and it doesn't behave like it does in sense.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
No you can't use sense Widgets unless you're using sense as your launcher.

Not possible. You were probably seeing "beautiful widgets" or something similar.
there are some widgets you can download in the app market
Thanks for all of your suggestions. I have acquired alot of good widgets thanks to the info provided in this thread.
I must say I love running my evo without sense ui, amazing speed
Again thanks
Launcher pro ftw!!
Is it offcial already? I downloaded the beta version
hi first thing great work to all that are making these roms there ace
i have a question is there away to get the gingerbread lockscreen to work on a sence rom?????
im running leedroid_v2.3d
i really like this rom but dont really like the lockscreen
love the gingerbread lockscreen
so if i could run the sence rom and have the gingerbread rom lockscreen that would be great
if anyone knows where to get it from or could someone cook a program to make this happen
thank you very much for your help
Either use widgetlocker or remove the sense lockscreen apk before flashing your rom.

Widget locker is great, but I had issues with it, so now I use lockbotpro.

thank you for the tip with lockbotpro ;-)
So I saw a video on YouTube on how to disable HTC Sense and use the default stock launcher, however that device was running 2.1 and so it won't work on my device...
I was just wondering is there anyway to disable sense without installing a separate ROM on 2.2, thanks.

I think the only way is with a new rom
You can't turn in off, as you can't install Sense on a non-sense rom.
However, you can install a different launcher, i think the gingerbread stock launher is on the market.
Because HTC Sense is built onto the Android interface, shouldn't closing HTC Sense enable the stock launcher? All HTC did was take the 2.1 nexus Rom and write Sense into it, they never removed a thing so surely there is a way?

Ahh thanks, they should give people a choice between Sense and the Stock Launcher. Fair do's people should just get the Nexus if that's what they are looking for, but the Nexus in the UK was only available on one network, and I for one completely prefer the standard Launcher, HTC Sense 1.0 (Desire Version) is very buggy and laggy.
It surprise me that you know how HTC made Sense and at the same time you don't even know what it is.
Like mentioned by Surfy89, Sense is way more then the htc launcer (rosie). If you want to get rid of Sense you need to flash a alternative rom (AOSP).
If you are talking about using a different launcher then the sense launcher (rosie), you can just install a alternative launcher from the market. So you do have the choice to use whatever launcher you want. Al tough the sense widgets won't work with a alternative launcher.

This is the video I saw: YouTube
I got the wrong info, sorry for wasting time
Even the comments under the video are saying it's an old feature.
Either install different launcher from the market (Launcher Pro, Zeam, Go Launcher ... plenty of them) or root and flash a custom AOSP rom. That's the way to go.

I found this works better for me. Sense Analog Clock Widget Dark
+1 for that widget. Simple and good.

but i simply want the widget of sense 3.5 in sense 2.1.
Sense 3.5 widget is built for Sense 3.0 and 3.5 (not our sense 3.5) the 3D sense in sensations and others , thus it is built for 3D purposes , and our launcher , the Sense launcher , isn't 3D (obviously) , which means , NOT WORKING ...
Anyways , what do you see as a difference between sense 2.1 and 3.5 widget , this widget haven't changed from long time ago until the Sense 4.0 came out ... so why is such a request ?!
But for example in ported rom of sense 3.t there arenot animations in 3D ,is a simple clock wodgey with time, it the same like sense 2.1., but if it doesnt eorks. Y hoped that if i changrd yhe weathers apk..it would work

Then you have to install a sense 3.5 based rom like .sense.
On Sense 2.1 it won't work because 3.5 uses a different resource framework.

Something about this?
can rosie be transferred to say a galaxy s3 for example??
There's only one way to find out

unfortunately my galaxy s3 hasn't arrived yet until tommorow lol so I can't find out
I don't think, you can do something by just transferring the apk!

Uh, I do not think htc loves this kinds of threads. I remember how they took down the app(s) on the market that had the sense clock look.
Anyway you are on the wrong forum?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1686118
the answer you are looking for is NO!
it can be done but the sense launcher is not used by just rosie.apk
it is integrated with the sense framework which you would also need to port over to your device of choosing (note port and not copy)
My guess is no. I assume rosie would require Sense framework, so apk file alone wont do, just like we cannot have Sense Camera on CM9 just yet. Maybe try Sense theme on custom launcher.
Porting Rosie would mean porting Sense. Simple as that
