How install the theme?

Hi guys
i see here so many themes but i dont now how to install?
what do i need?
I have JP 2.2 version
not rooted yet.
But can somebody help me how to root and install a theme??
This is how you root 2.2 /showthread.php?t=803682
Most of the themes are installed using clockwork recovery. You will need to need to download ROM manger from the market and install clockwork recovery using that.

Pirate rum rom

I have an htc desire that came with stock froyo 2.2, I decided I wanted to experiment with custom roms as I found the stock firmware a bit laggy.
I had previously bricked my samsung galaxy s by trying to flash a custom rom using odin3 software, so this time I wanted to tread carefully with my htc desire so I rooted it then installed rom manager from the market, I paid for the premium version and initially downloaded a cyanogen rom, when it finally booted up with it, it just hung in the boot animation stage, being confused I wondered if I was supposed to install something else with it? So I restored it back to the stock rom then downloaded pirate rum froyo 2.2 gingerbread design, booted into this fine and it works brilliantly. I really am a novice when it comes to rooting & flashing so I wonder if anyone can explain rom manager as if doesn't explain what files you need to download . I am confused with all the diferrent files on the download section on rom manager as some files are called kernels some are callled radio files, some are called roms. I am keen to now try another rom but I prefer to play it safe & stick with rom manager so can anyone recommend a custom rom that is fast and stable that I can download using rom manager? I have read that I can download a rom from my laptop and save it to the SD card on my phone & flash it that way without using rom manager but I'm worried about bricking this phone. Can anyone offer me any encouragement?

Everybody starting felt a bit like you do.
So before flashing them read about Desire roms here. Some of these threads are pretty long, so it's a good idea starting with the latest posts that usually contain the newest information. Also its also a good idea to use the search function on specific questions as most of them are already answered.
And now enjoy your phones freedom!

[Q] install a custom rom on a rooted rom

Hi guys. Gmaster here. First of all im using a rooted rom (not stock) and i want to replace it with a custom one. Im want to use mobile odin but im wondering if something might go wrong like root being removed during a process that requires root. I would use odin on my computer but my antivirus is...you get the point. But do i want a stock rooted one or will my other rom do it. Please tell me if it can do it or not (even if there is a soft/fixable bricking possiblility) if its hard brick possibility then i do want to know. Any answer that helps will get thanks off me.

As what you said, you are using "not stock" rom, so I assumed you did install a custom ROM in the past and it was successful. But why don't you follow the same way you did?
Alternatively, you can use adbshell to install CWM and then flash a custom ROM or zip through it.
There is Stock ROM and there is Costume ROM - bothe can be rooted or not (Coustume one almost always are).
Stock means: the original ROM from the manufactre (Samsung, HTC etc...).
you can learn more on how to back up your apps (titanium) and current ROM (CWM Recovery), and flashing a new rom from the forum threads.
I know guys but if i install a non root rom then wont cwm stop working?

My experience flashing non root stock room with cwm, the non root stock room became rooted stock rom by itself

Just the answer i need. Tnx. Just to make sure: my new custom rom will not effect cmw nor loose root access to finish it.

[Q] Question about root and recovery

I am currently running the Hyperdrive Rom. It has been a while since i flashed it. I seem to remember that I did not root my phone because the rom had root priv. I only installed the custom recovery. I would like to switch over the AOKP rom but I am not sure if I need to root first or if the rom has root. and also, if I do root will I then have to install a recovery again after. would also appreciate any advise on which root method is best. thanks for any help.
Check the change log for the rom and compatibility with your current Android firmware version. Most of the time after you root you'll be asked if you want custom recovery.
