Hello all,
Can anyone else access the nightly server for Quarxs cyanogenmod? I have been trying to do so and keep getting a blank screen. I regularly use mozilla firefox and have tried with internet explorer and Opera. No luck. I would like to put one of the newer builds on as it is much faster in terms of boot speed.
Also, what is the difference between a nightly build, a bootsea build, and the third type of build that he makes? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok I just tried with chrome. nothing will render. Is the site down or is it something else? To reiterate I have tried firefox, IE, Opera, and now chrome. This is starting to get frustrating.

Release Candidate - pretty stable, contains kernel, needs data wipe before flashing (but right now RC's are out dated feature and stability wise, latest nightlies are better)
Nightly - may be unstable (but all the recent ones are rock solid), no kernel so install over an RC, and no need for data wipe if you do this, just cache and maybe dalvik+battery for good measure.
BOOTSEA or BOOT anything else - nightly+contains some other version of the kernel, could be used in lieu of RC as above, not sure.
Don't know what you mean by the last kind. Do you mean the BOOT 179? If so same as BOOT SEA, different kernel.
Anyone correct me if i'm wrong.

I complete this with a little thing. If you have JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_CEE as official on Defy than no need RC because this rom and RC has the same kernel. (it is for european users)

I'm really interested in what kind of rom you like the most. Just answer the poll.
Currently, I'm running CM7 with MIUI theme, and I love it!
Camera is a bit worse, but download camera360 from market! It's free and has tons of options! Looks almost the same as sense camera.
If I could choose, I would run MIUI, but that's not an option for WFS.

- I cannot import SIM contacts into Cyanogen, unable to launch apps...
- JikantaruROM XE no french language
- Unable to install apps in Salsa
- JikantaruROM v1.1 Euro version working fine
- Android 2.3.5 HTC_Europe_2.13.401.2 [Rooted][Apps2sd] - Fast Stable is working with some bugs.
Did I miss something? I really want to find something stable to make my phone faster

Yes, but most of them are outdated, so don't care.
But about your issues with the given roms, i'm really wondering what problems you got and i would really like to know why.
Have you ever given a logcat to the developers of the roms about your issues?
Cause the unable to launch apps at cyanogen is pretty strange for me, did you try to tell it at the cyanogen troubleshooting thread?
Also unable to install apps is strange, i had both roms at my gfs phone and both worked like they should (cyanogen did even much more, that's cause it's the current rom she uses^^).
I had an issue with wifi on CM7x and Alquez troubleshooted it, provided a solution and I've been using the 7.2 nightly from the 18th since then and love it.
It is fast. No issues with running or installing apps either.
I would agree. If you don't try and address the issues in the troubleshooting thread can't expect solutions to your problems to magically appear.
can v use miui theme .mtz in cm 7.2????i realy like the i phone theme.....or v shoud hv miui rom ????

I am just a beginner in all that stuff and I reported the contacts bug for Cyanogen.
Did you find a fix? I needed to exports contacts to my SD card and reimport them.I don't know how to provide you the logcat... I used CM7 from the 18 dec.
On salsa, the phone rebooted each time I installed an application.
Anyway I wanna use an updated ROM and Cyanogen seems to be the only one for GSM

No fix, but at mine (the desire s build), when i push the menu button while i'm in contacts, I get 4 options, import from sim, import from sd, export to sd and share visible contacts. Have you tried this?
About logcat, look at the index thread, at the general guides section is a guide to set up adb on your pc, after you made this, enable usb debbuging at your device, connect it to pc with usb, prepare your device that it is short before the error occurs, type

adb logcat
at the pc into the command line, reproduce the issue and hit control+c at the pc. Afterwards copy the output of the logcat to a textfile.
Or you can make the same as i described above, but just execute except of adb logcat

with this the logcat output is redirected to the textfile (you can name it however you want, but i think logcat.txt makes the most sense at this case^^) and you don't need to copy it.
When I chose import from SIM card, the phone replies that I have no contacts in my sim card (which is false of course). I already tried that.
I'll report errors later, I don't have much time now but thank you for the informations.
One more question. Is Cyanogen the only updated rom? I already checked the ROM list but I didn't find any other working for GSM

Flash back to original rom then go to contacts and export to Google account or go to settings - accounts and sync, then click on your Google account and tick the sync contacts.
Once done flash cm7 then repeat the steps in contacts click import and choose from Google account.
Just like magic all your friends and families numbers will appear.

I have just recently S-OFFed my WFS with the XTC clip and have been using CM7 for a few days now... its great!!
CM7 with ICS theme is great, battery life is much better than the others

I have latest nightly build of CM7.... there's no comparison!
Tried all the various Sense ROMs i.e. Jakantarus, they're very nice but EAT batteries for breakfast.
CM7 with data2sd/ext2 partition is best, battery life is amazing. So far haven't found any problems, its pretty fast and has plenty of settings to play with. CM7 music player is all you need and has it's own Graphic Equaliser with speaker and Headphone profiles. CM7 camera is ok, with more functions than sense camera. Get TuneIn radio app for all your radio needs.

I do like CM7.Only thing that is annoying me is awfully quality of camera photos.

Honestly I like sense. Cm7 is absolutely amazing for customization. But the polish of sense and contact merging has converted me....for now.

I recently flashed PA 4.4 RC1 and the latest gapps package (06.08). As far as I know, I haven't done anything that could've touched chrome in any way. But now chrome crashes everytime I tap on a suggestion in the addresbar dropdown list. This is very annoying.
I tried reflashing gapps, didn't work. I tried uninstalling chrom with titanium backup, but chrom didn'T even uninstall properly. I tried disabling all xposed modules I have installed but that didn't help either.
Does anyona have or had a similar issue? I ran out of ideas on how to troubleshoot this. Wiping and reflashing PA would be the very last option that I would rather not do becuase it takes a rather long time. Any help would be much appreciated.
ps.: I have a nexus 5

both my D2lte and my Toro are having the same issues. it seems it revolves around editing the address bar not actually following links. i manually uninstalled from system using root browser(normal un install doesnt work) and tried re installing .. nada. i can confirm that you are not alone.

Except it's on RingPlus instead of Ting. I've tried flashing different apns-conf.xml files but they're no longer working in M11 while they were in M9 and M10.

Have any of you tried taking the APN fix for boost mobile and just changing the APNs to what you need and flashing that?

EDIT: It was working for a while but then stopped working. I'll test it more and update when I get a chance.
Well can anyone help me figure out how to fix the aspect ratio with the front facing camera in the latest few snapshots?? The default camera front facing is fine, but third party apps like snapchat distort.. For example, a perfect circle (a coin) will turn into an oval shape up and down. It's driving me crazy
Play Store has wrong carrier
I am running CM11 M12 and when I head to the play store it says that I am on Verizon instead of Sprint. Everything else works amazing except this. I can provide any information that is required. Thanks

This is a known issue. Shouldn't affect anything or prevent you from installing apps though.
It does interfere a little with setting up google voice, but can be handled by manually editing voicemail options
Battery Life M12
I just flashed to stock to get the modem update, then did a clean install of M12 + gapps + Ting APN's, and my battery life is just tanked. I have the phone plugged into USB currently, with Wifi on, bluetooth off, gps off, and I can't even break even on the charge; I'm at 11% and falling fast. I was on M9 (or M8? I can't remember) before this, and didn't have a problem like this. Is there any known issue with battery life in M12?

I had M12 for a while, I didn't have too much of a battery life problem, you can add the Performance Profile Tile to the Quick Settings Panel and change it from balanced to power save. I always recommend getting better battery stats, created by XDA Developer chamonix, it's not free but its excellent to see exactly what is draining your battery. Kernel Wakelock, Application Wakelock, or an Alarm or something. As always keep radios, modems and such upgraded.
No MMS or data when flashing the VMU APN fix on CM12.1
I flashed the APN fix and I don't have any data or MMS on CM12.1. Can anyone help me or post an APN fix I can use that will solve this problem for me?
Is anybody using this 12.1 ROM? Feedback? I am using the aicp ROM and it is awesome

I did a fresh install of cm-12.1-20150514-NIGHTLY-d2spr and Im stuck in boot loop. Tried older versions too and I get the same result. Can anyone help me, I'm running CWM 6.0.4.5

I have been searching the forums & Google for the past 2 days trying to find an answer to my question: Does the *stock* cm12.1 kernel (official nightlies) come with an alternative to MP-decision (hotplug) & thermald?! I'm desperate to know!! I've installed kernel adiutor and noticed a message stating that if my kernel has an alternative, to disable the option in the app... So I'm confused & haven't been able to find any info at all on the stock cm12.1 kernel, or what features it has, which would be very helpful & nice to know! Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me out! Any info at all would be highly appreciated!!

Messaging force close
Hey I'm running cm 12.1-20151025 and I tried clean installing the snapshot and the 20151205 nightly and messaging would force close continuously. I tried Google messenger same problem. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Did you wipe /system also? I skipped this and it wouldn't boot on the 12/05 build.
I'm also getting a no sim card notification, and not able to add APN's.

I don't think my app is deactivating with standard (nonmod) COS 12.1 and it will call out and receive. But the other person can't hear me -- or hardly hear me. Used to work fine with COS 11. I'm wonerding whether to try re-installing the app. I'm not a techy person! My phone isn't rooted. Any ideas where to get help on this with answers that I can understand?
