Hey,
I have 3 problems on my own rom and I would be happy if someone could help me with these problems As fast as you can.
I made stok Rom with Root , A2SD+ and deodexed.
the problems is :
1. I coocked theme here: http://circle.glx.nl/
After I made the theme, I put it in the rom ZIP and signed the rom.
I flashed the rom but after reboot I got BOOT LOOP, And before I put the framework-res.apk there is no boot loop. Why the theme makes problems?
I attached the framework-res.apk.
2. I always get 1200 in benchmark test.
How can I made the rom fast&stable with more then 1390+ in benchmark test without OC kernal ?
3. I tried to put google contacts in system/app/contacts.apk . But when I flash the ROM , I can't find the app . Why?
Thank you very very much for your help
Tamir
Themes should only be flashed after the first full boot. So flash your rom first, after it is finished starting up, go back in to recovery and than flash the theme.
About the increase in benchmark sores, i have no idea to do that but i don't think it's possible.

how do i do this?
Upp guys thats important please help me.
thx!
Same problem , I always get 1200 in benchmark test with some roms ..
added problem 3
Is a problem with all apk signatures of the rom. You have to install first rom, and when have rebooted at least 1 time, then flash your theme. Battery percentages are like this, because the rom apk's signatures. You can sign all apk's but maybe you have problems at time to install system apks.
How can i fix this Neo?
Maybe signing all apk, but maybe some apps won't be updated because the apks signatures, and others maybe won't be installed (some system apps), if you like to put theme at first of the rom maybe this is a solution, but don't know exactly. I always install themes after first boot.
Neo,
so how did you do your rom with theme?
thx

Hi, I'm cooking my own ROM based on RUU_2.29.405.2 using dsixda's HTC Android Kitchen. With this I can get all I need, but I'd like to put A2SD+ (the kitchen allows only A2SD). Where can I found a guide about this?
Moreover I have another question less important than previous, but it makes me very nervous:
-> I create a ROM and deodex it
-> I take the framework-res.apk and I change the icons and the battery with SuperCircleBattery online
->I overwrite framework-res.apk from my ROM with the new themed
->When I run the ROM with this MOD it blocks on bootanimation and not go on.
Can you tell me why? The same ROM works if I don't overwrite the file [TESTED!]
Thanks.
Didn't maked deodex, used framework_AW_09_17_18_09_1.zip as framework replace with white numbers, for me works w/o deodexing an FC.
If you need file ask in pm.
All what u do in your own risk.
Here u a version A, for odex ROM worked for me
from 4pda.ru framework_AW_09_17_18_09_1.zip
can be updated by using recovery.
and post in forum framework version A

This from http://circle.glx.nl/how_to/ :
"WARNING! Flash UOT file after you have first boot.
If you flashed new rom, boot up your phone first time
and after that reboot into recovery to flash UOT file."
You have to flash your rom with your framework-res.apk, after the first boot, then you can go in recovery and flash the patched framework..I don't know why, but it works..Maybe a bug in UOT kitchen..

Indeed, that's what I do and it works correctly...I've not read that section of the guide on http://circle.glx.nl/how_to/ so I made it by myself...next time will be more careful.
Thanks!

3a) if something wrong happen (because kernels < K9 are a little incompatible with K9) i advice to you to install JM8 or JM9 (rom eclair) with pit512 and re-partition flagged in Odin, then flash official JP5 with pit803 without re-partition always from Odin. At this point, flash SpeedMod > or equal to K9 you prefer (as long as K9) from Odin as PDA. So, wipe data and cache, and proceed as described at point 3)...

Nice rom to play with.
I installed over Docs Jp6. The first time I booted I was stuck at the welcome screen. Seems like the email.apk was faulty.
I installed the email.apk from doc, also I wasn't sure if it was recognizing launcher pro as my only launcher, so I installed the one from doc again, all from recovery.
Next boot works fine. Apart from side scrolling on emails.
This Rom has not wiped any data.

Great work!
Going to try it!
thanks bud, but you may want to add the new Gingerbread theme which makes the text black in the drop down bar will try it now!

Hey dude, i've been trying to install this ROM for the past 2 hours now but no dice. Keeps on getting stuck at boot, i've followed your instructions to the T. Any ideas? Thanks!
Well done! it's always nice to see italian people making good roms!
I'd like to see this work with JPO. A gingerbread theme will do until we get an unofficial or official ROM.

Same problem here. I'm using JPO firmware, still wont boot correctly after wipes of data and cache. The touch keys work and light up, no vibration though - just random vibrations.
Re-flashed and still no luck.

Hi, I have had the previous versions of MIUI working great and have been able to change themes easily by simply dropping in the MIUI/Themes folder then ap0plying through settings/personal. Something in the latest versions seem to have changed, with no explanation?! Firstly some themes dont show, Ive noticed that the file extension has changed to MTZ but then when I apply as a "system style" some things change but not all, eg background and icons unchanged.
Help this is one of the main reasons I changed to MIUI, now it seems frustatingly complicated and broken?!
Using stock 12.24 and ebglish language pack btw
131 views and not one comment, this forum really is dying!?
Hmm, not sure if I can help but I will at least make a suggestion.
I'm using the same MIUI ROM (12.24 R2 to be exact), and do not appear to have any issues with it, especially with theming.
Are you using 12.12 R1?
Did you flash the language pack manually?
Did you perform a full wipe of the data and caches before flashing the ROM?
EDIT: Do you have the Gingerbread keyboard installed? I think that may be the cause to your problem as it breaks theming with MIUI apparently.

I installed the language pack by just going into recovery and flashing if thats ok?
Didn't install any gingerbread keyboard unless it came with original miui rom
On this install didnt wipe anything, but with previous I did factory reset and had problems with themes then too.
Cheers for the reply though
I have trying to get themes to run in the Doc and Stefunel kitchen.
This is a pretty demanding task. Many (almost all) themes can not be used as is due to a non standard resources.arsc and 9.png errors.
There is some theme pro's here.
We like to find a some kind of way to enable any theme inserted in a rom.
Any ideas to make this in a easy way?
/Doc
No one here any ideas? I already proposed someone make a theme kitchen and integrate it with Doc's rom kitchen but apparently all the smart guys that got time and would know how to do that bought a Desire.
Which takes us back at doc's original question someone knows a fail-proof way to integrate themes into roms without having to flash a post-install zip?
Hi Doc,
i know this isnt way you want, but probably it can work:
What about make some script, witch will do:
1) after flashing ROM and start android - reboot android to recovery
2) (i dont know if it is possible) make script for CWM witch will automaticaly flash theme and reboot to system
If Im wrong .. ignore this

I've never need a post-install script to put a theme into a ROM.
Except for the JPY Gingerbread, but me and XGX got that hammered out in the thread in the Captivate forum and it works just fine without a second .zip.

Hi, any link to point in right direction is most welcome
I've merely dropped the framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk into the /system/framework. And any other files like android.policy.jar that goes with it.
For JPY, I had to take a few extra steps:

I keep getting a pop up message that says " Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped" and I can't do ****! Is there any specific reason that causes this problem? I've had it happen in the past and I just restore my phone, but I'm getting sick of having to do that. Any help I'd appreciate.
Thanks.
I get that at times too.
Only way for me personally to fix is to flash a new rom
I found this happened when I disabled the news app, the one you start by doing from bottom up from the home screen. Try that.

That depends on which rom are you running. The general reason is that systemui can not find the resource it need to run properly. The file it needs may got deleted, disabled or not properly modified. For example, in Omega rom series if 3 min battery mode is removed. To solve this issue, you might want to replace the systemui.apk in system/pri-app with a deodexed one with the SAME BUILD number. . There is a good source you can get that, it is the omega files from Omega Team. Install Omega Files, Choose galaxy note 3, then 4.4 kitcat, omega v23, mods, 3minibattery mod, choose stock battery icons, then it will open a browser window and start downloading. The downloaded file is the flashable file for replace systemui.apk with the stock one. Note that Omega v23 is NI4 based, and you can use this ONLY if you are running a NI4 based rom.

I was using the tweaked 2.0 version for about 4 months and had zero problems. Then I decided to give 3.0 a try and thats when I started getting that error pop up message. I then Installed tweaked 3.9 and same thing. I really like the Tweaked ROM but I may have to go with something different or back down to 2.0. And what you explained to me at the top with replacing the systemui.apk
in system/pri-app with a deodexed one sounds a little too complex . Plus I'm not running the NI4 based ROM.
I appreciate your guys feedback though
