Hey all,
my question is in the topic... the distance in google maps/navigation is in miles, while i'd like it to be in kilometers.
I am running rooted generic ROM, version 2.2
Tried both google maps and google maps [brut], same result.
Any idea?

Hey,
Is there anybody having issues with the latest version of Google maps? For some reason the latest version doesn't login to latitude...I removed maps which brought me back to an older version and latitude almost instantly logged in...updating it again brought me back to latitude not logging in...
Any ideas on what could cause this or which version I should install?

Hi guys,
since latest Google Maps release, I noticed that Google Navigator turn by turn speaks a different voice. That's no more the Ivona I installed.
And it's GREAT.
I tried to remove Ivona, phone went back to Pico (awful).
Now, I was wondering...
is this new TTS included in Maps ?
Is it in ICS, just new Maps making use of it ?
Is there a way to save 200MB of storage by removing Ivona AND keeping the new TTS in Google Navigator ?
Thanks
Fabio

I'll answer to myself:
yes, it's a new thing in latest Google Maps.
If you install any TTS from market, even not downloading voice data but just selecting the new TTS in android options, Google Maps will use its own, great, TTS.
Is anyone having issues with google services? I can't connect to the Play store, gmail, anything, this just started about an hour ago
I don't know if you're still having problems, but it appears to be working here on the Central Coast.
Thanks, it's working here again too
OK, I've been playing around with different combinations of Google apps and Play Services. My phone is the unlocked 32 GB version with the AT&T update installed. In order to get everything going, I reverted the Play Services back to 7.0.97. Now my Maps, GMail, Hangouts, Google Now, etc. all are working for me. Until it updates.
http://www.apk4fun.com/apk/43197/ - I can't vouch for this website BTW.
Just note that the first time I ran Google Settings it hung for about 30 seconds before coming up.
I haven't been able to get the Google Play Services to stick to the an old version. It will generally update itself to the latest version, breaking everything again.
That said, this workaround works until Google Play Services updates itself.

Hmm, I haven't seen that happen yet. I was running older versions of Play Services and Maps, which doesn't auto update (it asks you though). Might be one possible workaround, but it doesn't support Hangouts.
Edit: Spoke too soon, it updated and broke.
It seem that if I don't install the Play Store, Play Services won't update on its own. So I guess I can sideload apps for now.
I installed google with no issues on 4.6.1 att update. Some apps didnt function , such as google keyboard(the keyboard was offscreen)
Here are the apks, that I used to get google play working.
Hello, guys.
I had a problem with Mokee rom on my VIBE shot.
When i use any taxi apps such as: uber, careem and Karwa, the apps doesn't show maps - i get blank maps with no roads or details only location point and some taxis around.
This problem with the taxi apps only - Google maps is working well.
I tried several methods to solve, without any results:
- I deleted Google play services and Google play services framwork data and i updated them to the latest version.
- I installed Google web view.
- and I am sure that the location services is on and on high accuracy mode, and all apps has the location premission and Wifi and mobile Data access.
So, does anyone know how to fix this issue.
