Hi all,
i've created a quiz-game for Windows Phone 7 and I wanted you to post your opinion about the game.
The game is about locating cities or sites on a (bing) map, with up to 4 players. You can choose between several sets of questions - e.g. cities us. For each location you can directly get informations via wikipedia.
I hope you like it ;-)

Hi all,
My friend has an iPhone with an app called iRail. It looked really cool as i could view train times in realtime (I only saw Liverpool Street Station on London) and thought that was very cool...is their anything like that for the our Touch HD?
(I guess i could bookmark a website that has the large screen train times at Liverpool St..)
Thx...
If you are in the K try these links in opera

I agree, would be a killer app for commuting. The problem with the website is that this information is of most use when dashing for a train, or near a unfamiliar station.
Just thinking about how to make this happen- needs to be a finger friendly app for ease of use when running up the escalator with bags in the other hand, and needs to bring through all the data including live train status and platform information. Fortunately Network Rail have actually helped us - details on the SOAP API they have into the information can be found here http://www.livedepartureboards.co.uk/ldbws/ . Also getting the app to know your location via cell tower triangulation (as per iPh*ne, not GPS - takes too long) and auto populate with the nearest station would be good.
Sadly I'm not a developer (at least not for the last ten years) but was thinking about dusting of these code writing fingers and having a go.
Would appreciate some guidance from others on what tools/language to use, how to integrate data from the API into an app and how to keep performance good.
Another site of interest, as it tries to integrate all the bus, tube, ferry, road and any other info is transportdirect.info. Only recently discovered this one, but it occurred to me that an app on top of this could in theory give you access to some extremely useful information.

I'm wondering what the most popular World Clock app is among readers here.
I have family spread over half the world and it is often useful to know what they're local time is when trying to reach them.
I haven't been able to find a simple world clock application that allows me to set more than 3 timezones and doesn't have other features attached (like currency convertors etc).
So what do you guys use??
I have several: SPB Time and SPB Weather give me times in other locations. These are both on my today screen.
I used to use GeoKron but have stopped now I use SPB Time.
What is interesting is most of these applications have a world map picture that looks very similar - don't know if they are using a common sub-app or if they all are on the same planet !!
Foursquare is a tool to follow your friends and find local hot spots.

There currently isn't an APP for WinMo. There is an API for the foursquare service.

And I hope someone here can create an App, hopefully VGA and windows 6.5 compatible. At the very least, i'd like to be able to login, and check-in. That is it.
At the most, Check-in, post to twitter/facebook, add a note, see others in the area, mayor of that location, locations tagged nearby, and following your friends.
If someone does decide to start on this, the correct place to post information and current progress is here.

Thanks everyone!

I couldn't find a thread where anyone has mentioned this so I thought I'd mention this app. It's ArcGIS from ESRI and it is in the Marketplace (FREE!). It might be getting overlooked because people think they need to know GIS to use it which is not the case. Within the program there are dozens of base maps to choose from including a world road map. It doesn't have turn by turn directions but it does allow you to center your location and have the map scroll under you while driving. The world map has fairly good detail. Give it a try, I think you'll be surprised at all the information you will have access to with the various base maps.
I don't have any affiliation with the developer except I am a user of their desktop software.
Interesting, will show this to my girlfriend. She uses the desktop software for school, might have interesting integration capabilities.
Just for anyone who reads this, there is now a Turn-By-Turn navigation app which uses this API.
The thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959087
I loaded the A to B navigation yesterday and it's got to be one of the top 5 free apps out there.
One thing I like about the Arcmap app I originally posted about is the ability to have useful maps saved in the favorites folder and switch between them within the program. It can go from a road map to a weather map and back again with just a few button pushes.
that's really amazing
just curious if it would have an integration problem with a laptop?
Hi,
I am presenting you one more app that I have developed. Please feel free to post your feedback and notes.
Here is a short description and a few screenshots of the app:
