XDA1 not lighting up anymore :S

hey..i got a new cover for my XDA1 so i took it appart and changed the cover and all was going well...once the light of the screen went off but the light of the buttons was still on so i figured that there was nothing wrong with the light.i tapped lightly on its back and the light came back so i disassembled it again and fiddled around in it and then reassembled it again. the light worked perfectly. then after about two weeks the same thing happened. so i took it appart and did the same thing (which wasn't much) and put it back together but it did not work (did that a lot of times) i lost hope. i know that the light is lighting from the buttons but the screen is not lighting up. i am desperate :S what can i do?
u sure ur not holding the power button in too long as this turns the lights on and off if they are off hold the power button in for about 5 seconds while the device is on and they should pop back on again
hehe offcourse that was the first thing i thought of and did i know the power button does that and i wish that was the problem :S
please help me in this if possible
thanks

Orbit Switching off

Has anybody else had a problem with there Orbit randomly switching it's self off. This usually happens when it's in my pocket (and I thought it was a mobile phone!!!).
Do you mean the black screen of death? As far as I could tell my Orbit is still responsive but the screen will not turn back on when this happens.
It's perplexing, but it has happened to me a couple of times- I usually have to remove the battery to turn it off and get it back to a workable state again.
No mine turns it's self off. I have to press the power button to reboot it.
If you hold the power button in for long enough the Orbit powers down (fully off) anything catching the button or perhaps a faulty on/off button?
Could be but I try to be carefull when I'm handling it and to not touch the button. It's turned off when I put it into it's cradle in the car before so I reseated the battery and thought that had cured it. Didn't take too long before it started again though. I'll probably take it back to the O2 shop and get the run around from them!!!!
its been a long time since the thread was written but I have the same problem---if you apply pressure to the back panel, it switches itself off for some reason....anyone else got the same problem?
oh yeh that is so true! I just tried it whilst reading it here and it switched off. could be just the way that it was made. although i suggest you dont keep trying it could be potentially harmful!.

System Crashes after Drop

Hi guys,
I dropped my Artemis a few days ago in the car, it didn't get any visible damage. But since that day my phone gets stuck about once a day.
When I turn it on the backlight is sometimes off but I can use the device although I don't see anything - backlight of the buttons gets activated as soon as I press them. But sometimes it seemed to have lost power and it restarts when I turn it on. I have taken the battery out and put it in again but that didn't change anything.
Any idea what could be broken? Sound like a broken contact to me that loses connection every now and then, but I'm not sure since I haven't ever seen it from the inside. As far as I remember it fell with the display onto my shift lever

Phone heat up without turning on + black screen when turn on

Hi,
I dropped my phone yesterday in the water. I was able to turn it on but the volume button was messed up, so I put it in some rice overnight. Today, in the morning I tried to turn it on and it was stuck in the booting LG logo. I turn on safety mode and then turn it off to get it working again. It was working fine until afternoon. The phone screen went black but it is still working (i was listening to radio and it was still on when the screen went black) I took out the battery and put it in to try to turn it on. LED flashes, it is working but still black screen (I was able to accidentally dial voicemail). The phone also heat up with just the battery inside the phone. It heat up even more when it is "turned on". Is this a hardware issue? Does anyone know how to fix it? I tried the volume down + power, take out battery and reinsert. Nothing works... I know this is a long post, I really appreciate anyone that took the time to read it. Thank you.

Yeah, sounds like a hardware error. Not really much you can do except get a new phone. Sounds like it's sustained water damage, despite that you put it in rice.

Nexus 5X splashed by sea water, backlight turns on but display blank

I was on a vacation on Bali, Indonesia. While I was taking photos of sea waves it got some splash. Since it had a casing, only front got wet so I wiped the front part. The phone was ok at that moment but after few hours I felt lag on touch screen. Then after a day the display went blank. But on a dark room I can see that the display backlight is on.
I tried pressing power button for 8-10 seconds. After doing this the phone vibrates for a second as if it's restarting. The backlight turns off for few seconds then turns on again as it does when a phone normally restarts. I also tried pressing volume down+ volume plus+power button. Similar thing happens.
I have some great vacation photos on the phone which I don't want to loose. I am hopeful as the display is not fully dead. Can anyone please help?
