I made a nand back up and a titanium back before I did it. But I went to my SD card and went to the download file and and deleted a few things to make room on my SD card because it was low. Then I flashed to CM6 from fresh 3. But wen I tried to replace my apps back it replaces all but 3 (angry birds, neocore, and androzip) out of 40 apps. I tried to download them again from the market on both CM6 and fresh 3 but it keeps saying application not installed. I can download any other apps with no problem. I even tried to deleted everything associated with those apps to download again and wipe both caches but they still won't install..
Any suggestions?

Hi,
I was just trying out a few ROMs, and after flashing CyanogenMod (The stable release, can't remember the exact name) and then doing a full wipe and restoring my LeeDroid Nandroid backup, I ran into a bit of a kerfuffle...
After booting up, I was greeted with blank homescreens - which was a bit annoying, but nothing too bad - and so went to get started on repopulating them.. only to find hardly any apps were present. I put this down to some of them not having synced yet, until I noticed that even system apps were missing; Market, Music etc - not a single downloaded/sideloaded app is present. They appear under the "Manage Applications" section of the Settings menu but only Data and Cache are present, not the Application themselves.
I reflashed the Nandroid backup again (and again), and was met with the same, only Astro File Manager had miraculously appeared so I could at least install some apps from my SD Card using that. So after installing the Market and Root Explorer from there, I could see that the System Apps were infact there, but required manual installation. I can't even re-download all of the lost Apps, as even attempting to select one in the Market leads to a force close.
I can effectively do nothing, except use the tiny array of Apps that are actually there, which at least does include Messaging and Phone. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this, or a partial-solution at least?
Thanks
Ok, just as I finished typing this the Factory Reset finished and everything loaded. It seems everything is working now, but still, I'm just left with System Apps and with no sign of my other apps syncing/downloading.
After the wipe factory reset did you do nandroid install again straight after?

Yeah, and the same happened again. I tried various nandroids from all sorts of ROMs, and I would just get the same, even restoring the Stock ROM.
That said, the thread may as well be closed, I just went and did everything manually and everything's fine now. It took many hours, but it's in a usable state now.
i expect u will face the same problem soon as long as ur apps list will grow and be installed on ur device, this is a big issue i faced and still experimenting to get the best solution for, but currently the most effective cure is to mount ur sd card to a card reader, and go to the folder android_secure, cut some bunch of files ther(maybe half of them) and past to ur desktop, mount back the sd to ur device, ur phone will bahave normally now, this will work great after ur nandroid backup, when u see it work, try again the previous step and start to add files to android_secure folder from ur desktop, untill the bad behaviors start to occur.
hope this will help
Is there a way to download apps and store them in sd card? Avoiding backup and re-download all the apps everytime I flash a new ROM?
You could try to copy them to your sd card from data/app with a file explorer app. I'm not sure though if this works on an unrooted phone.
My phone is rooted. I need to store locally due to the fact that I like flashing often.

Use Titanium Backup from Market. Requiers Root. (you have, yeah. )
There you can backup all installed Apps within your settings.
And there are options to make a batch, so that you can backup and restore all apps at one time.

fyi, even if you store your apps in sd card, when you flash another rom with full wipe, you need to download your apps back (still , even the apps is there in your sdcard).
My suggestion is , download Titanium Backup, and make backup every apps installed, because you can easily restore back your apps ( with data saved - this is important especially if you play angrybirds .. lol ) even if your apps install in the system or sd card. No need to redownload back.

What a meant is that you can copy your downloaded and installed apk files from this folder to the sdcard and install them again once you flash.
or you can use MyBackup root to backup your APP and Setting, when you reinstall the OS , you can use it restore your APP and Setting too.

The matter is that I log on Google automatically the phone download all the undreds apps bought and previously installed. Anyway i,
'd to stop all the download and download only "mybackup app" and restore the other apps. I'd like to download and store locally only mybackup, just to make easy the restore.
Hi,
Had GV 2.1 running fine but thought i'd upgrade to 2.4. Backed all files up in TP first and installed zip file of 2.4 from recovery mode.
Went fine but SD card said 0mb and lost A2SD. int memory said 4mb instead of 60mb - 100mb like before.
As its been a couple of months since last modding, I forgot what to do so looked up issues and tried going to recovery again and clearing cache and wiping dalvik cache as well as installing a2sd Dark tremor script again which seemed to load fine but still no joy on int memory.
Then remembered last time I moved Dalvik to sd using terminal and this gave me my int memory, so I entered 'su, and A2sd cachepart'. It said successful so rebooted phone.
Then the trouble started. All app's one after the other started force quitting and I couldn't use anything inc terminal or TP. Obviously done something wrong.
Note. I have SD ext 4 for A2SD.
Anyway I've just rebooted to recovery and restored backup I did before upgrading ROM.
Can someone explain in layman's terms what went wrong and exactly what I need to do in order before/after upgrading to GV2.4 please?
P.S
Just booted after restoring from recovery however all personalization has gone. Back to stock gingervillian desktop. All app's and launcherpro gone widgets gone. Downloaded TP root from market again and restored all apps + data but launcher pro isn't there, have had to download from market again.
Gone to TP again and restored missing app's but goes to soft reboot half way through. This is even though the market is working as downloaded TP! The stress!
I'm running latest chopsticks CM10.2 nightly
For no reason at all, my Kingdom Rush icon on my homescreen renamed itself from "Kingdom Rush" to "com.ironhidestudios.something" after a reboot (maybe dead battery, don't remember). When I try to open it it says "App isn't installed" and doesn't run anything. When checking the installed apps list, it doesn't show up. Titanium backup shows something installed as com.ironhidestudios.kingdomrush but I can't do anything with it (uninstall/backup/etc), all options greyed out.
First thing I did was try to backup my most recent saves as I have been playing it a lot and my latest backup would have lost days and days of play. I think I did this, as I found the ironhide folder in /data and backup it up to my sd card.
Attempts to install over the previous (broken) install have failed with the installation taking a while then stopping with the "App not installed" error.
I have made sure to have plenty of space available, tried zip resigning, tried all the usual "app not installed" troubleshooting, nothing works. Everything is fine on the phone but I can't get my game to install or run anymore. Do I really have to do a wipe/restore a couple month old backup just to get a game to reinstall?
rooted my phone, used all those root prevlged apps...was working smoothly ..the all of a sudden..it started installing apps automatically, corrupted system apps like keyboard, live wallpaper picker etc.... it would even install apps into the system that even after formatting everything ..those stupid apps will install itself again and again...so ,,i uninstalled some of the suspected apps (randomly) through root browser...
everything is same so i tried to install a custom rom (colossum) BUT....i cant even reboot into recovery mode now, tried the volume up+down+home...etc etc..even tried with apps like rom manager ....but i cant ...+ when i try to factory data reset(including internal sd card) it just switch off itself and sometimes it will format the phone storage but not the installed apps.....
can any 1 please pull me out f this mess..
