HTC Evo 4G Skins - EVO 4G Accessories

Question does anyone have any experience with decal girl skins on the Evo? I am thinking about ordering one, just for the back. Preferably a matte finished design.
HTC Evo 4G Decal Girl Skins
Also has anyone ever used gelaskins? How is the comparison between decal girls and gelaskins? From the looks of it gelaskins, it looks nicer.
HTC Evo 4G Gelaskins
If anyone has any other skin sites for the evo. Please post them here, so I can see the different designs and finish they offer.

I've used decalgirl's skins on my ipods and iphone. They're good and give a nice flair to the device. Forgot to look into them for my EVO, so thanks for bringing this up. Right now I have the phantomskinz carbon fiber skin on my EVO, bit more expensive than the ones on these two sites. Gotta say that while it's 3M material too, the skin pieces on the top and sides seem to be losing their adhesive because they keep shifting around.

some nice skins there might order one

Yeah there are some nice skins. I think you can create your own as well, but I haven't really looked that up. I might order a skin off gelaskins because the designs seem more artistic.

Zagg Skin Mytouch 4g PICS

Got my Zagg skin about 2 weeks now and i love it!!
It was very easy to install covers the entire back only leaving the camera bezel exposed which is fine since i carry my phone in a hip case anyway. the skin feels great it does not feel sticky or tacky like the zagg invisible shield.
The case was 19.99 i had a 50% off coupon for entering the zagg sweepstakes so in total it only cost me 13 bucks..
check it out here.. http://www.zagg.com/personalize/zaggskins/index.php
very nice!!!!
yes zagg skin are thinner and even better then before... going to upload pic of my phone
yup ive had it on 2 of my phones now i had it on my nexus one.. i didnt like it because i chose a crappy design that i thought was going to be kool lol..
Skins are the best way to provide protection to your device against scratches and any other sort of damage. My friend had HTC skin on his device and it really looks cool and changes the look of his device. Everyone really appreciated it.
HTC EVO 4G shift skin cover
I bought the skinomi shield from amazon in march for around $8 and I have no complains I believe that they have a wood looking shield also, I may give that a try.

If I'm getting a skin, I'd want it because it's thin. The "gel" skin would just be annoying to me, especially because it would get in the way of fitting cases over it.
I've used skins from gelaskins (gelaskins.com) in the past and I was extremely satisfied. They also offer customized skins but have a lot of designs available from various artists. I'm probably going to be getting a skin type cover and I'll probably be ordering from gelaskins since I've had great experiences with them on my past devices.
Btw. You seem to like final fantasy. A lot.

Indeed I do like Final Fantasy as it is my favorite RPG series of all time, and it has been since the original. So as my favorite series in the whole world, I like to represent. Ya know what I mean? It's really no different than people who obsess over their favorite sports teams. Lol.
And I hear ya about wanting a thin device. The other 2 choices I listed for my examples are thin, adding zero bulk. The gels skins will add some bulk yes because of the gel, but the point of a skin decal is to look good while protecting the device all at the same time. The skins make your devices smudge proof, scratch proof, and nearly damage proof for the average consumer, especially for the gel skins because they are a little thicker and will hold up better.
If you do get a skin, please put it up here for us. Would love to see what kind of design you will cook up for your Xoom.

That skin is hilarious. Looks just like the late 80's trapper keepers I used to rest my head on while sleeping in class.

Hmm... I do not know of a UK version for this website, sorry man. But, I have an alternative if you would like. You can't make your own skins, but it has a decent selection of designs that you can choose from.

DecalGirl is pretty sweet. It's a very popular and well known site for skins, and it does ship to the UK. I have used it on occasion in the past.
Cheaper skin
I bought this one from ebay for $9.99.

Really like it, just wanted something to protect the back from scratches when my Xoom was out of it's case.
Super thin vinyl with a slight faux leather look, check the close up pic at the bottom of the ebay link.

I haven't put the front on yet, waiting for my screen protector to arrives 1st.
I will look like this picture, same material and pattern (with the screen area cut out). The seller has many designs, i like the dragon one because it's pretty understated.
These are just pics from the gelaskins website (better than anything I'd end up taking), but this is what I got for mine:
I usually have my leather portfolio case on, but it's nice to have a little protection if I ever have it out or if something might possibly scratch it while in the case.
I also got this for my atrix:
Edit: I was just browsing the gelaskins website and it would seem they changed their website set up. They have some art that they have pre-designed the layout for the devices and others allow you to use the artwork in their create your own process. When you select the device, they have some categories off to the side and it starts with the most popular... I just wanted to point out that they have more artwork because I'd hate for someone to miss a design they like more than what shows up in the most popular.

Skinomi TechSkin Carbon fiber skin protector

The battery cover seems to be a potential weakspot on the phoen from reviews ive seen. Although that opinion has been mixed.
I saw these though andthought id share. I dont like using cases on my phones so thought some people might enjoy this also.
I bought a sleeve but I am also thinking about one of these just to sturdy up the battery cover. It comes with a front screen protector too!
anyone dealt with these before? ive only seem limited reviews. any input appreciated.

Is real carbon fibre?
Sent from my HTC HD2 on ICS 4.0.4 using XDA
Not real for that price, if it is then that's a great deal.
real carbon fiber would be too rigid.
it does seem to be more rigid than a sticker, though.
the application video suggests using a hair dryer to apply it to corners and palces where the material must bend.
Id only put it on the battery cover, not anyhwere else. The contrast of my marble front, the silver on the sides and the black on the back will look cool i think.
heres a link to an example. This user used 3M stuff though.

I've done this with MANY devices, even used white carbon on my girlfriend's Captivate, and recommend using 3M Di-Noc over ANY of those gimmicky skins.... Even though the Di-Noc is much harder to go around complex curves, it holds up better than the 3M 1080 version, which is thinner and therefore more flexible, but also includes a glossier finish with a smaller carbon fiber weave.... 1080 trumps Skinomi, et al., so buy in bulk from eBay or wherever, and you'll get much more use out of it than just getting one skin that looks terrible and doesn't compare to real carbon fiber at all!
My 2 cents as someone who's been in the vinyl graphics industry for 10 years.....
^^ To each their own
I have a few products that have Skinomi's Carbon Series on them & they look great, corners suck a little but that was known.
Quick & painless
I went to autozone today to look for some of the stuff you suggested or similiar but they didnt have any.
i appreciate the advice but these skins already come cut to fit and with the holes in it. I went ahead and ordered one. They have free shipping and and the carbon fiber skin comes with a front glass cover. I wanted one anyway so its kinda two birds with one stone.
Ill post up impressions but itll be in july when verizon finally ships. I have a pile of phone accessories already for a phoen i dont even have yet lol
edit: Forgot to add - if you use the discount code "skinomi25" you get 25% off.
I ordered the carbon fiber package and it came to 14.98 with free shipping to US and canada
carbon fiber skins are totally worth it but the screen protector sucks cuz it has the rubbery feeling. To each their own though.

yeah ive never used a screen protector on any of my phones. I probably wont use this one either but it saves a few bucks if i decide to.
can you post some pictures of your skins on your devices???
but it looks nice though. Ahh there are already so many things that I wanna buy before my device comes !
I got my order in the other day just posting smoe initial intial thoughts (no SGS3 yet, damn vzw)
anyways the skin came attached to a adhesive backing that has 3M logo on it. So perhaps its the same material about psoted above. any way to tell?
it came with a wet application screen protector and all the goods to apply it.
it looks liek the right cut. im excited to try itout when my device is finally delivered.

Anyone try BodyGuardz?

I wanted to put something on my S3, but didnt want it too bulky as the slimness is one of the great features...So I end up looking at a few and think I want to try the bodyguardz armor and screen protector. Just wondering if anyone has used it lately and if it can be put on easy and cover and look good? Also wondering about the screen protector that comes with it. You see I had one on my iphone 3gs I just upgraded from and it had the best protector I have seen, my wife and kids had the zagg and it sucked, the orange peel and most of them ended up with jacked up edges before long and all that. But the one I had , well I have no freaking clue what brand it was...it was rigid, not a floppy skin like the zaggs and most others, it was more stiff and stayed flat if you held it on your figure for instance. I just wish I remembered who made that one as it would be my choice for sure.

Bump - I'm interested to hear if anybody has tried the bodyguardz for this phone too. Particularly the carbon fiber one.
I have used BG for over 3 years now (Palm Pre, EVO OG, E4GT, and now my GS3). I don't know why people don't comment much on it. I have tried the big guys, Ghost Armor, Zagg, etc. and I always keep coming back to BG. The build quality, clarity, application (especially the new ones with the gel) are second to none. You also get 2 sets per kit in case you mess up and unlimited lifetime replacements. Their customer service is amazing.
No orange peel, no weird Zagg texturing, simply clear.
I highly, highly recommend them. You won't regret it.

That's awesome. Thanks.
I'm not going to be put the screen protector on though...might change my mind, but really I'm buying it for the carbon fiber skin. I do not drop my phone, so all I want is scratch/scuff protection. Anybody used the skins, particularly the carbon fiber? I'm really curious if it's got any friction or grip or if it's really slippery still. Thanks!
I've previously used BSE on some products and always had good results.

Brushed chrome texture vinyl skin for HTC One, tried it and loved it!

Was searching for a nice skin wrap on eBay and found this guy which lives close to me. So I asked for his phone number so I could come pick up the item and to see if he had any other skin wraps. He offered me 2 of these for $10. Super nice guy! I gave the purple one to my gf and she extremely loved it. I was afraid it might affect the wifi signal since it's aluminum foil but it does not. Very pleased . I will upload some pictures of mine soon.
