[Q] My phone wont stop being "awake", Help. - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I am still trying to figure out what keeps my phone awake, i uninstalled system panel, setcpu, disabled dsp manager and titanium backup and custom keyboard. Reviewed apps and disabled anything that looked like it may use the processor in the background. Oh yeah, i disabled handcent sms too. I just cant find it. I look at system panel and no apps use more than maybe 1-2% tops. It's ridiculous. When I look at the system battery info it says cell standby and android system with nothing else that stands out.
I have the following installed (sorry for the long list)
Adobe Flash player, amazon mp3, anipet koi live walpaper (dont use it), app 2 sd, asphalt, baseball superstars 2009, better cut, better keyboard, c:geo, Barcode scanner, geocaching, handcent sms, penguin, android banking, titanium backup, setcpu, talking tom, pandora, raging thunder 2, poynt, tapatalk pro, doodle jump, andweight, siriusxm, quickboot, skype mobile, color flashlight, spelling bee, root explorer, playerpro, citycaller id, twitter, not call log, msn talk, compass, dictionary.com, docs to go, dropcap2, droid emulite, ebay, extreme droid jump, facebook, thunderstorm wallpaper (dont use), columbus, gmail, goggles, google sky map, google voice, gps status, i reader, htc ime mod keyboard, calander pad, maps, gv dialer, cardock v2, systempanel, gps averaging, oi file manager, printer share, shopper, shopsavvy, snesdoid lite, streetview, trillian, realcalc, battery droid pro (off), voice search, wireless tether and xiialive.
thats it, a ton but i dont know what else to try, most of this was in before it started happening. i have the data always enabled turned off, i only sync mail and facebook and weather (4 hours), anything I am missing?
please help.

What apps can be disabled?

Since we don't have root yet, I have disabled a few apps so I don't have to see them in the app drawer and to keep wake locks down. Slacker held my phone awake for over ten hours and I didn't even open it that day!
Anyways, what apps can be disabled and not cause problems with performance? I imagine there a lot of apps that run in the background that we don't really need.

How to make G9 with 512mb something usable

I went trough an odyssey since I bough my Archos G90 Turbo some years ago.
If you have this device you may be familiar with this: constant application freezes and crashes, big keyboard lag, system reboots, can not wake up from sleep, fast battery drain, and a large etcetera of nuisances that make you sad and willing to crush this piece of ****.
After trying almost all the firmwares on the forum thread dedicated to this device I have come to a solution and I wanted to left it here so maybe it helps someone.
The problem with this device is the lack of ram, 512mb is very little and system comes full of bloatware and a lot of applications leave daemons running even when they are not running.
I have installed the stock rooted version of firmware 4.0.7 as some pointed out that is the one that runs better on 512mb devices, and then I have installed root uninstaller and started to remove all apps and services that I don't need.
For instance I have uninstalled:
clock, contacts, contact storage, DRM protected content storage, exchange services, gallery, Gmail, Google+, Google contacts sync, Google play store, Google search, Google tts engine , media center, media storage, media scrapper, talk, talk back, voice search, Japanese keyboard.
There are some system applications that can be replaced for others that use less memory and don't leave daemons like:
play store -> aptoide
gallery -> quickpic (solves problem of being unable to enter deep sleep)
media player -> mx player
browser -> opera mini
Gmail app -> email app
I have also avoided synchronizing anything, or installing applications I use sporadically.
I'm using the tablet since a couple of weeks after doing this and it finally works fine.

Stock apps
Hello friends,
I have almost like 20 apps that most of you have listed down, I tried disabling them but wanted to know if I can Uninstall them without a root as I know they eat up lot of space and ram.
Apps can not be removed without root, only disabled. The only thing you can remove from disabled apps are the update. Also some apps have to be updated prior to being able to disable. Once diabled remove update like that stupid lookout app.

[Q] SM-T800 Apps installing twice

I am an Android newbie, but was so taken by the SM-T800 tab that I bought one. I was shocked at how much crap came pre-installed, so in an effort to at least cut down on the appearance of tons of pre-installed bloatware, I turned off a bunch of apps using App Manager, but not anything I thought might actually be important. Obviously something has gone weird though, because now when I download something from the Google Play store it installs the app or item twice, once with the app icon/label, and once with just the label-- although if you touch on the label it will still launch the app. You can delete the apps as usual by dragging to the trash.
Here are the things I have turned off, do any of these look like they might be causing a problem?
ANT Radio Service
ANT+ Plugins
Business Card Recognition
Businessweek+
Cisco WebEx Meetings
Drive
Dropbox
Flipboard
Google Play Books
Google Play Games
Google Play Newstand
Google +
Launcher (I honestly do not think I turned this off so I am wondering if it is part of one of these other apps: this is labelled com.sec.android.emergencylauncher and it won't let me turn it back on. This is the only thing I can see that might cause a problem. TouchWiz Home is still active and running.)
MagazineWidget
Milk
Netflix
NYTimes
Papergarden
Papergarden Widget
This is not an emergency problem since I can delete the extra apps, but it bugs me like an itch I can't scratch!

[Q] Advice... Google Play Services consuming battery

Hey all
When I did a search for this topic, it seems alot of people are having this issue.. So I guess if Google cant track us using Google Maps (Remember that always on), theyre now using Google play itself...
Im using an Unbranded HTC One M8 LolliPop 501 (v4.16.401.10), unrooted...
Googe play is consuming 50% of my battery usage.. I have "Location Services" set to "Battery Saving" Mode and "Location History" OFF. Ive disabled/uninstalled apps I dont use.. Twitter, FaceBook, Foursquare, Google Play Music, Google Games, Kids Mode... Ive also noticed that one of the google updates is "Android System Web View". I have read around the web and the GP store itself.. that this webview is causing mixed issues, so... Do I need this installed if I dont use Chrome.. I use FireFox (Both on phone and on home pc with chrome plugin).
Can anyone advice me of ways around this battery drain with the Goggle Play Services
Cheers

You can, at a start, disable all location services and the GPS receiver. That will help enormously. Of course, you won't be able to use things like mapping services, but you can always re-enable the GPS if you need those. This doesn't require root, and has a noticeable benefit.
If you are willing to root, though, you can use a program like App Ops to disable wakelocks for your top offenders. I disabled wakelocks for Google Play Services on every device I own, and there are no visible issues other than improved battery life. I'm not sure why Google has that service wake the phone up so much, but it's absurd. You can't kill the service entirely, at least not without taking out a lot of Google functionality, but it DOES NOT need wakelocks to operate correctly.

I had the same problem with google services. From my observations, I concluded that google services and facebook's location polling are the culprits. My solution is as follows:
Go into Google Settings -> Security -> and disable all options here.
Also go into Location -> Google Location History -> disable location history.
Also, you can either disable facebook altogether, or at least disable location polling to reduce the battery drain.
Let us know if this helps, so other users can take advantage of it.

Thanks for the tips.. and I was actually coming online to share all my findings anyway Ive done all of what you suggested. I dont use "Life Intruder" (faceBook) on my mobiles anyway.
As well as what you suggested, I also .. Disabled/uninstalled the apps mention in my OP, then after some research Ive found that "Android System Webview" is only for Chrome, so Ive disabled it and changed to FireFox instead, cleared both Chrome and webview Cache in Apps, Rebooted my M8 and its on 80% after 19 hrs.
Another Massive battery drains which I found is keeping GPS Location in Camera turned on all the time. / Auto Sync turned ON and "Location" in Settiings set to High Accuracy. Turn asll these down / Off or Battery Saving Mode. When you install an App that uses Locations, such as Foursquare or HERE maps.. Goto Location and check the App is set to Battery Saving, Not High Accuracy
If your like me and a light to moderate user, who uses their phone mainly for Media ... Boomsound, Camera, BlinkFeed and gaming. Then I dont really need Google Location Services.
Also Turn Off GPS and WiFi when not in range. You can also Turn OFF mobile data, but I find 4G pretty efficient compared to 3G, so I leave it ON.
If you use Google Drive DroipBox or other Ckoud Apps, set them Download your Files over "Wifi Only"
Its just a shame HTC didnt create a Location Icon in the Notifications Panel, but its not too bad.
Hope this helps others
