Ever since going from MyFroyo RC4 to RC5 & RC6 (and even the Cyanogen RC01, I have had problems with my wifi.
I am posting here to see if anyone else is experiencing these problems, and to find out what changed between RC4 and RC5.
I have no cell service at my house, so when I flash a new ROM, I need to leave the house and go to an area where I get service before I can connect to the Google Servers to set up my device. When on Wifi, I also have problems downloading Google items in the market (such as Google Search Bar) and can't even use Google.com to search for anything. It times out. I can, however, use other websites and download other items (once I've set up my device remotely).
If I am setting this up over Edge or 3G, there are never any problems.
If I re-flash back to MyFroyo RC4, I can use my wifi with no problem to do everything I need.
I really love the updates since RC4 - but am worried that I'll be left in the dust since all the builds since RC4 have had this issue for me. :-/

I've never had a single Wifi issue, although I never really tested on RC1 too much. I'm currently running Eugene's newest CM6, have you tried that one yet?

supposed to be a cyanogenmod issue though i havent experienced it myself (i also have horrible service 1-2 bars edge max) using wifi everything loads up fast and everything downloads just fine! but if i were you i would try the nightlies they are supposed to have fixed the problem by now if im not mistaken
I've experienced a lot of this too. Marker downloads were pretty much not happening for me, no matter what - Wifi or Data. On data, it would download but never install. On Wifi no images in the market would load and no download would activate. I also couldn't use Google.com or sign into Gmail via the browser or other Google services. I did a lot of searching and heard it could be Google.
What I did to fix it... I did some nandroids, I did some wipes and updates and complete formats, etc. What I finally think I had was a problem in my packages.xml file where so many programs were mismatched due to Froyo's ability to use apps2fat32. I think at some point some nandroiding I had done,etc screwed up my package assignments and then I just fresh installed and DO NOT BACK DATA/SETTINGS UP WITH GOOGLE! haha, I honestly think that had a lot to do with it also...Go into your Privacy and turn auto restore off, turn backup data off, then reset your device with a wipe of it all and such, boot up and don't select backup with Google. I've had no more issues really.

I've actually tried the new nightly's and still have the same problems. I've also tried completely wiping it and starting from scratch- and made sure not to back up w/ GOOGLE servers- but to no avail.
I wonder if anyone on here can figure out what changed between MyFroyo RC4 and RC5 that could cause this - seems something is blocking the Google Synch. I've also experienced the problems mentioned above regarding the market items not downloading, no images, etc. Just seems weird that it worked completely fine before RC5, which came out around the same time as the Cyanogen 6 Slide RC1
From my personal experience I'd have to say that wifi is slightly bugged. Drops randomly and occassionally won't detect my network when other Android devices will (any encryption, which is for suckers anyway )
At least I know I'm not the only one w/ this problem. I couldn't find a cyanogen defect for this issue.
Same here. I have no wifi. My g1 connects just fine and my hd2 but on the slide its a no go. Ive tried everything but eventually just gave up. Im using Eugenes Ota update. Im not sure if its just the slide in general but my wifi doesn't work period. It'll connect but if i load up youtube or try the web I get a no connection error. Its very peculiar. Incredibly peculiar.
I am having the same issue. I noticed people talked about it with CM6 rc1 but not everyone was having the issue and the subject died off. Ive tried reloading, wiping everything, htcclay's new version but nothing seems to help. The wifi is just strange will work for a page or two than fail to load or loads half way. Also tried on several different networks. Does anyone know if the driver is the same in eugenes as in these later ones?
After wiping and keeping a good eye on everything, the issue I have with Wifi and the browser is that sometimes it just hangs about 75% page load and doesn't really change unless I leave the phone go for a bit and wait for it to load.
Downloaded Opera Mini (only browser I could find that doesn't use the native browser). With Opera, I've actually hadn't had any loading issues or anything weird like that happen. So many a possible partial-bypass is using another browser? It helped me, just thought I'd share.

the wifi issues.. asap he's juggling this and vibrant please be patient i've spoken to wes myself and he's told me when he has the time this will be one thing he looks into

Same bugginess happening here, too. Iffy, at best. Other than that and of course the non-necessary FN and CAPS light, this is the only issue, anymore, that I can see.

Thanks for the update - I look forward to the day when I can use the wifi AND a camera MyFroyo RC4 is still working well for me, but I miss my camera

This new ROM has been really awful to say the least....
Will probably help if you say what service, and rom, most of the time you don't have to flash w/an official rom either...

I flash the new HTC Tilt 2 (AT&T) ROM Update 2.10.502.4
The phone was acting really unstable, no HTC Sense on startup, the zone identification keep coming up everytime the phone wakes up, most of the times you try to wake up the phone, it won't do anything.
So went ahead and reflash again. Everything seems to be working right now exept that I can't browse the web. Emails are coming in fine, the updates the location on weather, etc. But still can't browse either Opera or Explorer.
Any suggestions?

I Read a thread here the other day saying it wasn't the same thing, maybe I just had bad information.
When I read the thread on flashing roms it's a lot more complicated...but maybe that's just the difference between a custom and official flash?

Do you get the.."Can't make a data connection at this time" message, or are these browsers just not working/not coming up?
Have you tried on wifi, to discern whether this is a data connection problem or the actual browsers?
I had no problems when I updated my rom, just a few minor annoyances at some changes I didn't care for.
You could always try it again.

The Browser shows the Forbidden 403 Error, either Explorer or Opera.
I was able to browse with WIFI.
The Data Connection is active because the emails are arriving ok.
Message on Explorer:
You are not authorized to view this page.
HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden Internet Explorer
Message on Opera:
Access to this URL has been denied.

Any time you replace the ROM it is considered flashing. The fact that custom ROMs on this phone require HardSPL and factory ROMs don't is irrelevant. The ROM replacement procedure is still considered a flashing.

This happened to me a few months ago - nothing to do with a new ROM. Everything that used the internet worked including emails, texts, stock updates, etc - but no internet.
I used WiFi to download opera 10 beta and then installed it and was able to browse to my heart's content. I eventually ended up having to do the dreaded hard reset a while later (for other reasons) and after the reset both the native opera and ie worked fine.

btw - I did upgrade to the new ROM and lost no internet issues but DID cure a curious problem - before the upgrade neither google maps or bing maps would work. No maps at all but it did "locate" me with the gps. After the new ROM google maps is working great. Go figure,
Are you using MediaNet for your connection? Try creating a new connection using wap.cingular instead. MediaNet stopped working for me last month for some odd reason and AT$T had no clue why. Switched to wap.cingular and all is well.
I have a few issues with my 4g connection. I officialy get 4g where I live. When I connect to the 4g network I can't seem to view certain webpages with the stock browser. The page will load but will not load completely. Sometimes it the loading bar gets stuck at around 75% and the page never loads. I've tried stopping and reloading the page, but still doesn't load properly.
If I connect to a WiFi connection, any page will load with out a hiccup on the stock browser.
If I am on 4g and try to use another browser, the only one that works is opera mobile....
Does anyone else have the same issue or maybe know how to fix this ?
Have you tried factory reset? It is odd that the page would do that with the 4G radio

Well I havent tried a factory reset....I should have mentioned that I am rooted, running the newest MYN's rom, with netarchy 4.1.9.1 CFS kernel.

I get the same issue I just keep reloading till it comes up noticed I does it with sites that take s while on my pc also might want to check of they have mobile site should help

I notice sometimes this site does just what you described on my Evo over 4G.
I usually get the titlebar and then a white screen and the bar stays around 75% as well.
I think it's just flaky 4G network issues because most days it works fine and nothing changes on my end. Since my home is in a strong 4G area I notice the signal drops out completely some days, and is stronger other days so I think they must be messing with this system still.

That's what I thought at first but when I'm on WiFi I have no issues loading pages. It's really only when I browse the web that I have issues with. I can do other things on WiFi without a problem like browse on tapatalk or download files from the web or the market place with no issues.....
Also, opera browser is the only browser that works. The rest do not load pages properly.
I had the same issue, pages would not load on 4g only on 3g or wifi. I did a factory reset and same proplem. I had a custom rom so I decided to unroot and install the stock rom (pc361img) to take it back to sprint and bang it work after this. I then did the root again and havent tried another rom since then but pages load up properly now on 4g.

Thanks !!! It looks like this fixed my problem. I unrootedand went back to stock. 4g seems to work fine with the stock web browser. Then I rooted and running Sprint lovers Rom and so far so good.
Same has been happening to me for about a week now. I use Myrns as well.

Well, I ended up reverting back to Myrn's RLS2. Didn't have to unroot, but did have to do a wipe of everything. Tried going back to RLS3 and that doesn't fix it for me.
I don't live in a 4G area but was in 1 today while I was waiting for someone. So I decided to search online for a certain process that is always running on my phone that I though was killing the battery. Using Dolphin HD it opened google.com no problem then started acting weird. It took a while to be able to enter a search but it eventually allowed it and the results showed up quickly. No matter what one I selected, it would do what everyone else described. The last link I tried happened to be to this website and it seemed to get stuck like all the others and then I tapped the screen a few times and the full page appeared. I am also running myn latest beta. Weird.

Have you tried to un root and go back to the stock rom and see if 4g works fine?
Ok this is starting to happen again. I went from sprint lovers rom to myns newest release.
I'm gonna try to go back to Sprint lovers and see if that fixes it...if it doesnt I'll try to un-root then root again...

That's not it, my rsa keys are fine. I can connect to 4g and download data without an issue, its just webpages that do not load properly while on 4g.
Anyway, I didn't unroot, I just flashed Sprint lovers Rom and now pages load fine on 4g..... maybe there is something wrong with myns Rom or something I installed...
My 4G issues have gotten worse....I can now connect to 4g, obtain ip address and actually connect to the 4g network....but I cant download anything. No data is transmitted or received....I cant load a webpage or download something from the market or even run a speed test....it wont transfer data while on 4G....3G and Wifi work fine.....just not 4G...
I checked my RSA keys and they are fine...I tried to delete my tree.xml and that didint help.
I tried to flash a different rom....didnt work.....
I tried to un-root and go back to stock...that didnt work either.....so my next step tomorrow is to take it to a sprint store and see what they can do (i do have insurance...) but before I do this, does anyone have any other suggestions?
I think I solved one of my two 4g issues.
The first issue I had was not being able to load web pages on any browser but opera mobile while on 4g. The second issue is 4g just stopped working. I can connect to the 4g network I just can't transfer any data.
I'm positive the first issue is caused by the app adfree. Once I reverted my host file and uninstalled adfree, webpages load fine in the stock browser.
I'm not sure about the second issue.... I got a refurbished evo and 4g works fine with this one......
I hope this info helps someone.
My 4G will turn on and scan and even show bars but it doesn't work. It never fully loads. 3G works great. Wifi needs to be shut off and turned back on all the time to work correctly. Is anyone else having the same issues?
Nope, did you check you wimax keys? There is an app in the market to check or maybe you have a bad download

Problem with browser loading page fully
For some reason, no matter if I am on WiFi, 3g or 4g, the browser fails to fully load webpages with a LOT of content.... puzzling.
Based on your original comment, I can't really tell if you mean that it doesn't work when you're browsing, or if you mean it's just not grabbing an IP from sprint or what. I'm going to assume that you're experiencing issues with browsing though after your phone is connected to 4G and showing that it has a 4G signal.
Myn botched the adblock feature in his ROM. You'll have to restore the hosts file if you haven't already. The browser will partially load pages or lock up on sites with flash ads because of this. Grab AdFree (it's free) and tap "Revert". That should restore the hosts file. You can then use the program to block ads effectively.

I did the adfree fix last week or something like that when I think everyone was having issues with it. For some reason though 4G will say I have signal and then take forever to load or never completely load at all but if I shut it off 3G works great.
My wifi seems like it just turns off after a little while but says I still have a signal. If I turn off the toggle and turn it back on it works fine again. It's just annoying.
I'm thinking of switching roms but I just don't know which one to go to. I have really liked myn's rom and am not sure what else is good.

Good news is you have your RSA keys, you might want to back them up in case you do end up switching around ROMs and flashing radio updates and such.
There could be several things going on here, so it's hard to give you a good direction to go in. Are you maybe using a custom kernel? Have you updated your WiMax and other radios? Maybe try flashing back to the rooted version of the stock ROM, and grab the latest software/radio updates.

*Probably don't want to update HBOOT, it's not included in the Combo link, so you're safe grabbing that. Also, some people have said that the PRI/NV 1.90 have been giving them ****ty battery life, 1.77 should be fine if you notice this.
Anyway, my recommendation for now is to just get everything back to scratch. Check and see if the 4G works after that. If it does, maybe it was the ROM or some kind of kernel you were using (if any). If it doesn't work still, your area might just be having 4G issues right now. I don't know where your area is, but if you're on the cusp of 4G deployment, it may only work sometimes. I know here in Minneapolis before deployment was official, it would work in isolated areas. Then all of a sudden, the signal would be there and I wouldn't be able to connect. I would just get an "Obtaining IP address from Sprint" message and it'd stick there. Couple of weeks later, it started working again.

I updated all of the radios and everything the directions on Myn's RLS5 said to do.
I'm in Nashville and only get 4G in certain areas so it's not a huge deal. It would be cool if it worked correctly though. I just wasn't sure if it was the rom or not.
I haven't changed kernels, I'm just using the one that comes with RLS5 but I do get really ****ty battery life.

i got a strange problem. My mobile Data and Phone Calls wont work when im on 3g (4g not testet), it says that im connected and shows the "H" Symbol in the Status Bar, but i cant recieve or send any Data.
Also i cant make or recieve any calls while this problem occures.
Somehow it works sometimes when i get 5/5 connection Bars.
If i switch to "2g only" it works fine.
So far i tried it with a different carrier sim card (same reslut), did some apn tweaking (same result), couple of factory resets and soft resets (same result).
Im on Stock Sense non-rooted and want to keep it that way.

i got a strange problem. My mobile Data and Phone Calls wont work when im on 3g (4g not testet), it says that im connected and shows the "H" Symbol in the Status Bar, but i cant recieve or send any Data.
Also i cant make or recieve any calls while this problem occures.
Somehow it works sometimes when i get 5/5 connection Bars.
If i switch to "2g only" it works fine.
So far i tried it with a different carrier sim card (same reslut), did some apn tweaking (same result), couple of factory resets and soft resets (same result).
Im on Stock Sense non-rooted and want to keep it that way.

Strangely enough over the last few days I've had this problem too, do you use HTC internet browser ?
To fix it, goto settings - apps - all and find HTC internet, clear data and history etc, or you can open the browser, clear history, stored passwords, data etc in the browser options, then restart your phone, alternatively, download another browser like dolphin, Firefox or chrome.

Sadly that didnt fix anything , still if i have less than 5 bars of connection in 3g/4g mode i cant get any data or make calls, even though it says im connected. And it does not switch to E or G
im on Android 5.0.1, is there maybe an update coming soon for 5.0.2 ? at least i saw some m8 with it i think
some other suggestions maybe =) ?

i dont want to root my phone, and i dont think that it is intedet to root your phone to get it properly working.
you have some other suggestions ?
does this maybe have something to do with firmware ?
