Root your phone fiind a kernal and flash it like you would a rom

There are exact directions on the OP of each kernel thread in the dev section. Make sure the kernel you are flashing is compatible with your ROM.

can i use a netarchy kernel for sense 2.2 and replace htc default kernel?

if so, how do i go about doing that please?
Are you rooted? If you are, then grab one of nets kernels from the android development section and follow their instructions to flash the kernel.
If you're not rooted, it's impossible to install a custom kernel.

[Q] Custom Kernel?

I noticed the tegra 3 one x has kernel development and custom kernels. I thought you had to be s-off for kernels? Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks.
No need to be s-off, you just need to push kernels over separately using fastboot. S-off would simply be more convenient as you could flash it in one go with any Rom.

Ready for rooting...but I want to be sure...

Hi guys! I got my One x Yesterday and now Im ready for rooting
I readed around our forum and found 3 interesting thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577671
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592355
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604439
the last one its an all in one toolkit to root our HOX.
which's the best for you?
Also: which rom do you recommend (I like the stock features and look with some tweaks)
thank you guys! And keep up the good work to all devs!
use this thread. that is the one i used and very straight forward mate.
and use ARHD if you want close to stock with few tweaks. But still if you want a rom that is stock but with loads of tweaks and has the unique tweaks and always one step ahead of the competition use Team PKMN rom... for me that is the best rom at the moment and basically has mods and tweaks that no other rom has and support is brilliant and well the themers of that rom actually know how to theme and not think to much of themeselves
Rom that i am talking about and suggest:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625816
Thank you mate!

in the rom thread you wrote i read the HOx must be s-off or htc-dev unlock...correct if Im wrong: with s-on we cant flash boot directly right? so how I can s-off my HOX?
At the present there is no way to s-off a HTC one x. You don't need s-off to install a custom Tom or kernal however. Just follow the instructions in the help thread and you should be fine.
HTH.

faux kernel with parandroid

hey everyone! sorry for the super noob post.
I'm currently using a htc one x international and have read that the faux kernel works very well. I was also wondering will it work with the current parandroid rom. (currently on my device)
sorry if this has already been asked. im currently at work and do not have the time to browse!
mods feel free to remove if so.
Thank you.
You have to repack the kernel then yes

[Q] Question about kernel

All devs please help, I have a question. This question is about the kernel. Can you change the kernel of a ROM without changing ROMs.
Thank you for your help.
Not a dev, but yes. Download your kernel of choice and flash in recovery after wiping dalvik and cache.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
Yes. Just make sure you flash a Sense kernel on a Sense ROM, and a AOSP kernel on a AOSP ROM.

Yes you can and like Fin said, make sure to read the whole op before flashing the kernel, theres alot more to it than just flashing a kernel and even though it says its for AOKP or JB,make sure its made for your rom and alot of devs add different governors and voltage regulators to their kernels, make sure to look at that also,so you can get the best battery life, but at the same time you might want speed, theres alot of things to look for and concider before using a OC kernel, the main thing, follow close directions and if your not sure about something, ask first before bricking your phone.
