Any reason why it takes so long for a download to start from the Market? I'm talking upwards of 5 minutes. 3g or wifi

Same thing here... I always end up rebooting and toggling airplane mode and data hoping it will help. Nothing... It really bugs me.

I figured it out. Go into settings/applications/manage applications. Pick Market, clear data and force stop. This makes you sign back into the market and apps begin to flow....mine did anyways. Good luck.

Go in to setting and Click Uninstall updates, Clear data, clear cache, force stop. It should work after that. I had the same issue after I flashed Fresh but after doing this it works everytime
Tried that and still a no go. Trying MIUI 1.23 and it's doing the same thing. Been "Starting download..." for 5 minutes plus...

Might have to try it multiple times. I had issues with the market when I first flashed Fresh 3.3 the other day and i thought it was the rom. After searching i found that solution, tried it maybe 4 times, and since then I've had no issues.
Got to settings account and sync and check auto sync should work worked for me

I have been searching for the past couple hours and haven't turned up a fix. A lot of people have suggested reflashing gapps and I'd love to do that but I can't find the apk or zip for it anywhere. Does anyone have a dl link for it? Or perhaps another solution?
Happened to me before. The market heals itself with time.

Try cancelling and re-starting the download. If that doesn't work, open up Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, find Market, Force Close it, then re-open and re-install the updated app. Works for me every time.

Done that 20 times already. I've also wiped and reflashed twice too.
I found the gapps zip and flashed it, of course that didn't work. I just noticed that I can't sign in to google talk either. Everthing I've read says that the market is heavily dependent on gtalk.
I am extremely frustrated and want to throw my evo through my damn window.
try opening Talk and letting that sign in, then restart your download and see if it works. If it still doesn't sign talk out and then back in and try again.
Works for me every time, I think there is a glitch that both apps must be logged on to work

Nope. I can't sign in to Talk.
By chance did you recently change your WiFi access point setup? Or recently attach to it? Your WiFi / router may be firewalling your outbound access. I figured this out after a lot of time banging my head with the same problem.
Even more bizzare was that once connection attempts occurred on my WiFi, just shutting off the WiFi did not resolve like I thought it would. I figured it would go to the 3G to continue... but you actually would have to power down the phone (battery out) to get it going.
Ultimately, I had to open up my port access (outbound) for my phone.
Go into settings. Force close market under running programs. Clear data. Open market. Fixed

Maybe for most people... but when I had this problem, that wasn't the cure. Although I suggest he start with your suggestion... if that doesn't fix, he needs to look deeper into what I mentioned to him.

In a shocking turn of events, now it is working again. I didn't even do anything, I just looked at it and it was downloading all the apps that I had tried and failed to download last night. New downloads are working too.

If you can fix that your market should work too, have you tried reinstalling GAPPS? It can be found in the Cyanogenmod ROM thread.
Hey everyone, just had my phone rooted with fresh rom and I have been unable to make launcher pro my default home. I couldnt open launcher pro so I downloaded home switcher, and even if I would set it to my default through there it would still go back to fresh's home setup. How can I fix this?
Also my chrome to phone does not work anymore. Any thoughts?

hmm interesting, didn't run into this problem with mine but i have heard of issues with launcher pro not setting as default. go to menu>settings>applications>manage applications>sense and clear defaults then try to set launcher pro as default and what exactly is ctp doing?
Thanks again bro, clearing the defaults worked... I could have sworn I tried that already though lol
But for the CTP thing, I click on the icon on my toolbar and it says it sent it to my phone but I do not receive it on my phone. I uninstalled it and reinstalled CTP twice and still got nothing. Both emails are entered in correctly. I looked it up and it seems to be a common problem but I didnt see a solution.
Everythings going great so far by the way man.

I had an issue with it not working as well, I had to update CTP on my PC and disconnect CTP on my EVO, then reconnect.
Works good now, takes less than a second to receive the information!

I have done this several times with no luck. I posted this over in the Fresh thread, but when I did a restore back to my DC backup, my C2P pages were delivered as soon as I grabbed a signal. For me, the problem is tied to Fresh.

Alright I have no clue what's going on here... My market isn't opening at all, it's not even force closing, it just automatically closes. Here's the scary thing, this even happens after flashing a recovery that's known to work fine. I have reinstalled gapps, I've wiped data via TB, I have tried everything I can think of to fix this and the market still closes. I have no clue what to do. Help? TIA
And I just tried going to market.android.com to see if that works and it now says I don't have any phones connected to my account (this feature has worked fine before)

This happened to me last night. It happened to me after I did a full wipe and flash of build 35, so I nandroided back and did a nowipe flash of build 35, and it oddly worked fine. Try using an earlier build, I would say 33/34 and before.
Alright, I'll try that tomorrow (currently studying for an insane strength of materials exam) and see if it works. BTW, this happened shortly after I flashed the latest CM nightly. Shortly after (about 10 minutes) two things happened: I got an error saying google talk couldn't be authenticated and then the market wouldn't open (although I downloaded and installed a few things before that with the same rom).

Hmm. Some market issues were caused by a practically nonexistent cache partition. It's probably just a bug, I would try earlier builds or restoring a nandroid or something. It'll get resolved before it's released as a release candidate I'm sure.
Well here's the thing, right now I'm on build 23 which has been very stable for me. This problem happened on build 37 and then I nandroided back to this backup and its doing the same thing. I'm going to try to flash without wiping data and see if that works

That's incredibly strange. Maybe it's something going on with google's systems. Try flashing cm6.1.1 stable and see if the market works there, then wipe and flash build 23 again and see if it does it. If it still does it, check to see if the market auto updated, go to settings>applications>manage applications>all apps tab, scroll to market, and see if there are updates to it. If so, press uninstall updates. I read about a week ago that the market had an update that broke functionality, but it was only supposed to affect 1.6 devices, not 2.1+. Weird.
FIXED! Here's what I did:
Full wipe
Reflashed build 37
signed in as [email protected]!!! I was lazy and only put my username, which was not linked to the market, so it had no clue what to do when I tried signing in to the market. That was all. Just an FYI to fix this you MUST run the start procedure again, that's the only way to fix this.
What a pain in the butt...
Nevermind, I restarted and it came back... weird. It might have to do with TB, actually, because it didn't happen until I restored my TB backup... Looks like I'm going to have to start over in the world of android.. oh well

Chrome to phone hasn't worked for me since cm6 :/
In fact, I'm experiencing battery drain and the broken download manager is beginning to get to me so I MAY go back to cm6 for a few days but it's just so irresistible to stay on cm7 with the added features and such. Plus I don't feel like redoing my settings.

The suggestion to clear the data of maps was a temporary fix. At first it worked, then after awhile( about a day) it gets stuck again.

or did you find another way

Yup, clearing cache helps but I also find out it came back after a while. Hopefully this will be fixed on the next maps update since it seems like a bug.

I searched, but I didn't find anything. If the thread is out there, please, point me in the right direction.
OK, so... This makes absolutely NO SENSE to me, but... On my way to work this morning, I decided to try checking out the maps and navigation. Well, I turned on Maps, it worked. I turned on Navigation, then all of the sudden, Airplane mode turned on and it will NOT turn off. I tried to manually turn it off several times, but it just turns right back on instantly. I've restarted. I've powered down and powered back up.
I'm Rooted with nothing else changed. No ROMS or Kernals or anything.
Help, please?!
