The difference here is Android is largely open source where as Windows Mobile is not.
Not very likely - WinMo is pretty locked down as far as I know... Would be tricky getting the Desire hardware to work.

i think it will be not legal... not because Android is Open Source and Win mobile 7 not....

I am not very good at that but I am totally fed up with Windows Mobile 6.1...
HTC has all the code to put android on Diamond...
Whether they can create a great buzz by opening all the drivers code for Diamond, wether create the ROM themselves but :
LET US HAVE a quickly a stable (not tweacked) ANDROID on Diamonds !!!
Anyone to take the flag and move on ?

I'm sorry to rain on your parade, but I don't think HTC will have any interest at all to offer Android on any existing devices. There is simply no money in it.
HTC will want to use Android to market new devices.
That said, make a petition and I'll sign it. There are services for petitions availible on the internet.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to run android on the Touch HD and where it can be downloaded from? I would like to give it a try to see if it’s quicker on the net as the wm base is painfully or could it be classed as suicidally slow

1. Not its not fully functioning.
2. There is no release date.
3. Don't hassle the developers.

You can always use general section for any info or request regarding WinCE. As far as I've seen there will always be someone here that can help.

the stuff you're looking for is called Microsoft Sync (on Ford and Chevrolet ones), which is the core system

i have my blackstone for a couple weeks, and i would like to know if it is possible to run the same andoid versation as the htc hero? i saw on youtube that the hero is multi touch, so that might be a problem for htc hd!!!

android is slowly but surely being ported to htc HD. All the development for that is in the ROM section. I wouldn't expect any multi-touch features to work on the HD.
Check the Blackstone Rom forum... there is a thread on Android developement.
