Radio FM transmitter on the SnapDragon for music - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Is there a way to activate the FM transmitter built in the SnapDragon processor?
I want to use it to listen music in the car via FM radio.
I heared that Modaco worked on it ... true?
Any idea of how I can get it work?

According to the results I've seen it doesn't. Reason being the radio is missing something essential for TMC to work.

[Q] Bluetooth activation to use FM transmitter ? - Froyo

Hi all
My DHD is running under CyanogenMod 6.1.3, and when i want to listen to the FM radio, it asks me to activate bluetooth first. If i do it, all is right.
So I wonder how the two devices are linked...
If you know why, please answer to this post

[Q] - Why does FM Radio need Bluetooth?

Might have been asked before but... I tried out the FM radio app on CM7 yesterday and it turns on the Bluetooth radio. Why does this happen and is it necessary? Bluetooth is such a battery hog that I will probably never use it again.
Decided to use Pandora while cuting the grass instead.
thats weird because the stock fm app just needs headohones pluged in
What I mean is when you open the app it turns on the bluetooth radio and if you turn off the radio it kills the FM radio.
Same here. CM7 FmRadio uses Bluetooth to capture signal .... so if you close the bluetooth while litening to Radios , it will also kill the radio.....
I don't see something logic in this..... Really wish for an asware....
I do believe the Bluetooth and FM Radio Reciever are on the same chip. This may just be some trickery to get the FM Radio to work properly.
Bluetooth and fm reciever are on the same chip and in order for fm to be on chip has to be active and because fm doesnt have a control switch (on off setting) it activates Bluetooth instead thus making fm radio work.

I don't think there is source for fm radio so this is how they made it work by reverse engineering it. Just like they did with wimax before the code was open sourced.

[Q] FM Tuner for the HOV, GSM?

Hi guys. I am using ice's PA. The stock HOV had a FM Tuner and CMs dont. I was wondering if it is possible to install an FM tuner app? Just to be clear, I dont want FM that streams from a data connection. I am talking about the one where you have to connect your headset to listen to it.
Thanks.
EDIT: I tried installing the app located here: http://d-h.st/vEg. It exits with an error.
nope there is only one good radio app that is Spirit FM(paid)

[Q] ? enable FM Radio on G3

Back long ago, I had a Motorola E815 flip phone.
It had an FM radio.
My DROIDx had an FM radio.
My Thunderbolt had an FM radio.
Our Gym broadcasts audio for the TVs over FM radio.
I've just received the G3.
Is there an app or combination of apps or hacks that can take me back 10 years to plug in the wired headset and tune the station?
thanks!

Works fine with the build in app, at least for me, are you sure you have the international variant?
Another option would be spirit fm, worked fine for me on the s3 on aosp roms which had no fm support out of the box, but if you don't have the d855 you won't have the hardware for it, so it also won't work.

That is the issue. I'm on verizon and i think they disabled the radio as they have done in the past.
NextRadio is the App Sprint supplied for the Sprint LG G3, there are some others on the Google Play store that use hardware tuners. You'd have to be sure to pick the ones that are true FM tuners.
Does anybody knows how to enable STEREO sound in stock FM radio app? It does only mono reception
I tried root and Spirit FM v2, it plays in stereo, but sound is very choppy :/
