I have the keyboard timeout set to 6 seconds, but after 6 seocnds only the keyboard backlight turns off and not the softkeys. The sofy keys turn off when the screen does at 30 seconds. Anyone else having this problem? I am running ACS ICS EI22.
Edit: it makes it hard to read a book or watch a movie.

Yeah, I think this changed with the Gingerbread update. Now the buttons are synced with the screen timeout. Bummer.
I have noticed this running the CM7 builds too, thought maybe it was a missing setting there but maybe not Kind of annoying when running the phone in the car dock at night.

It's fixed in newer cm7 builds.
Don't go looking for a new build though; while there are test ones, they are not public and will only give you more problems.

Any idea where it is in the stock system? Or did you have to do it at the kernal level?
Mine doesnt do this.
Screen Timeout=15 seconds
Keyboard Timeout=3 seconds
Ok, for some reason mine is working now. I'm using toadlife's cleanGB Rom and I just flashed his updated kernel. Maybe that fixed it?

A fix for this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the developers and irritated users like me looking for a fix.

It was found to be a problem in overclocking kernels. Non-overclocking kernels did not have this problem. Samurai just fixed this in 3.0.1.

I've never had any problems with the stock keyboard, an alternative is Swype beta if you like Swyping or Swiftkey X if you like typing like normal.

Hi guys!.Managed to add OpenGL 2.0 driver support to our Heroes.Don't expect any miracles, our GPU can't support everything, that requires 2.0 graphics. The mod increases display performance, gives a high boost to Android 4.0 ROMs(turns on hardware accelerating) and maybe helps in some games. For those, who want to try it,flash attach from CWM Recovery(zip is not signed). In case if something goes wrong or you want to turn it off just delete file data/local.prop

turns on hardware acceleration?
Does it work on all Android versions?
Nice, I want to try this, especially on ICS. Have you tried it on ICS yourself?
Here's a signed one for Amon_RA users

Or something like that.On our local forum almost all testers on ICS reported, that their phones become much more fast and responsive.I tried it myself on ZeroHero,it increased scrolling speed a bit
I tried it on ICS now, and I got to say, it's a HUGE improvement! Really! Of course, it's not like VE, but for example pulling down the pulldownbar is about as smooth as it's possible. With this mod I think I can use ICS as a daily!
Thanks
Im gonna test it with gingerbread rom now.. report back tmr.. ciao!

tats because cm nightly's already have open gl 2.0,even decked elelinux and most roms already implement open gl2.0,its only certain builds that dont use opengl 2.0 like zero hero and most 2.2 and below roms...
Okay :>

Habarug, ICS theme or ICS Rom?
Ok, maybe someone has an idea here:
I started installing custom roms on my HOX a few weeks ago, and started with InsertCoin (ICS) because of the stability. Everything worked - this is my goto Nandroid backup, and I'm going back to it a lot. Now I've been playing around with Jelly Bean roms, specifically LorD's Ice Cold Jelly 0.7 AOKP and tbalden's CM 10 Alpha 1.2.
I had a couple of problems with the former, and everything seems to work fine with the latter, except a very strange issue I have with both. For some reason, a reboot resets all my apps' setting. This is most in the Launcher (Nova AND Apex, same problem), where all the widgets I have added disappear after every reboot, and my custom keyboard choice, Swiftkey. After every reboot, swiftkey is disabled, and the stock keyboard is back.
Since everything works fine with ICS, I've been thinking maybe there is some security setting or the like that prevents my changes from being saved?
I'd appreciate any ideas - I really like Jelly Bean!
I'm using CM10 Alpha 1 v2 from tbalden and don't have any of this problems. I'm using Trebuchet though, so maybe it's a launcher-based problem?
Greetings

I just checked. Trebuchet also loses widgets after reboot for me. Is it possible that it's just some apps that aren't JB-ready yet that are reset every time (like Advanced Clock Widget, for example)?
This is from the 'Issues' section of both of those ROMs:
Some paid apps loses settings/acconts due to this android jellybean problem: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=34880 Solution is to backup with Titanium Backup and restore to internal memory, not to sd

Edit: sorry for being a **** about it.
callummr said:
I dunno, it could be the issue very clearly explained in the threads for both of those ROMs given it's exactly what you're complaining about.
I know, that would have required reading the clearly marked 'Issues' section for the ROM you were about to flash, and that would have been far too much effort.

Dude, thank you. I had read everything before installing the ROM, but then forgot about this after experiencing the issue. I will try this solution immediately!
Yeah, sorry, not sure why I was such a **** about it. Morning, tired, work... Eh. Hope you get it resolved

Happens in the best of families It did get resolved, thank you again. Now that both Apex and Nova are working, I just have to make up my mind which launcher to use ...
Hi guys, I just want to know if somebody has the same problem as me and if there's a solution. I'm actually using the slimdragons 3.0 rom, and overall it's great but I find typing difficult more than miui, I mean sometimes when I write too fast touchscreen doesnt recon the letter or it types another letter when I was using miui the touchscreen was perfect. Is it only me and my mind or there's a real problem behind what I'm saying?
Thanks for future answers

I've experienced this issue using Hexa-Project and the old build of the LineageOS. Actually the problem is with the multi-touch. When I had the issue, restarting the phone several times used to solve the issue.
