Well I was using my Evo just about 30 mins ago and the battery was low so after a couple of minutes it died. I tried turning it back on just to see if it was really completely dead and well it turned on got to the homescreen and it shut off again. At this point I go grab my charger and intend to charge the phone and the darn thing wont charge, at least thats what it seems like to me. Is the led charging light suppose to come on when the battery is dead and charging? Theres nothing going on right now its just there supposedly charging. I tried turning it back on and nothing happens, I removed the battery and put it back tried turning it on again and nothing. I also tried charging it while connected to a pc and it would detect my evo but all that would popup was that "qualcomm cdma technologies driver" could not be found. Im starting to worry because I haven't had any issues at all with my Evo. I was doing nothing really to cause it to brick not that I'm saying it is, I hope not. just browsing the internet while the phone was on and it died. My phone would charge just fine while it was on and never had an issue with the battery. I was running Cm6 10/7 nightly I believe with KingKernel #2. So is it suppose to take a while for the led to come on? is it suppose to be on? Is my phone dead? Help will be appreciated.
with it plugged into the wall charger or the pc turn the phone on and let it charge with the phone on.
letting these batteries run completely dry until your phone is dead and shuts off is B A D you can and will kill the battery.
i hope you didnt kill the battery.... but.. if you have a nbatteries plus near you you can go buy one cheaper than thru sprint. and have your phone running today. it might not say its a battery for the EVO but it uses the same battery as countless other HTC phones.,
you can also try walmart, best buy, and any place that sells or carries htc phones and accessories.

The thing is my phone wont even turn on or at least give me a sign that its charging its just sitting there connected to the charger but no led light. Does that mean theres something wrong with my phone or the battery? My pc still detects my phone but doesn't charge it. This is the very first time I actually let the battery completely die. Either way I'm going to try getting a new battery hopefully it helps.

so with the phone off, or what appears to be off, your pc still sees something connected... that isnt right, that sounds like the phone is hibernating or in a sleep mode.
so... what happens if you hold Vol Down, and then hold Power...
does it turn on to the fastboot/recovery menu ?
i guess you could try pulling the batter and just plug in the usb cable and try turning on the phone.
technically it should run without the battery (like a laptop will if you plug it into AC power) but i do not know. it probably wont turn on at all.
i would say take your bad batteyr with you and see if someone like Batteries Plus can test it, or Radio Shack.
all else fails, you buy a new one and hope it isnt the phone thats bad.
you can always take it to the sprint store. they wont screw with it, just tell them to see if their battery will make it turn on properly.

after falling asleep and forgetting to plug my phone into the wall my evo turned off due to low battery, in the morning when trying to plug it in to recharge i find that the little orange light wont go and and neither will my phone. it wont charge or turn on even after being on the charger all day, i have tried different chargers as well... any ideas?
I would try a different battery that you know is charged. That would tell you if phone charger port is broken or phone is bricked (which prob isn't the case)
Did you try hitting that button on the top of the phone? LOL. haha. It is COMMON SENSE THAT THE EVO WILL NOT charge if you let it die all the way. you must take the battery out and charge it.
most likely it got to low for it to even charge. take it to a sprint store so they can jump start your battery.

Are you running froyo? If so, froyo has a charge bug that results in the exact symptoms that you describe.

Had this happen before.. What I did was just take the battery out for 30sec and put it back in and put it on the charger see if that works

So I'm currently using the Suarom ROM, and for the most part it's been working fine. Suddenly I have a problem. Last night I plug my phone in to charge and suddenly it won't charge. I tried with two separate chargers.
It's still a new phone, so I can bring it in for warranty work. I just want to make sure I take all the steps necessary to "un void" the warranty. I'm a Rogers customer. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
Theres a thread in the DEV section that provides instructions of how to completely un-root and restore your device to factory before you turn it in for services.
The only problem is, my battery is at ten percent with no way to charge. The strange thing is that when I plug the phone in, the charging symbol appears. Just doesn't charge. Any idea why that would be ?

Tried different chargers? maybe plug it up to your PC see if you can get some juice that way? i can see the cable/charger going bad before the usb port on the phone ( but **** happens ) 10 percent should be good enough to get your phone back to stock though, i did it at 7 percent not to long ago, you just cant play around you have to click and run and get it done so it does not die. then if it dies after at least you are stock and can just turn it back in. but to be honest for a charger problem i VERY SERIOUSLY doubt they will be looking at Software and roms. thast a defect, and i think they will just do a clean swap----JUST LET IT DIE so they can not turn it back on in the store..lol
Ya could have a derpy battery and the phones fine.

Yeah, I have tried three chargers with no luck. Haven't tried a PC yet but will after work.
So if I'm getting the lightning bolt charging symbol, odds are it'llbe the battery rather than the port?
take it to best buy or an at&t store....and just say, hey i think i may have a bad battery do you have one i can use to see if my phone will power on and recognize the charger after it is plugged in. then you will know, unless you have an extra battery just laying around.
I had a similar problem like this before. Try charging with the phone off.
OR
If you want to troubleshoot and isolate the problem, try getting an external battery charger and a spare battery.
If you charge your stock battery and it charges with the external charger, your phone may be the problem. If not, then it's the stock battery.
And with the spare battery, try charging it via phone charger.
These are the possible ways I can think of at the moment. Hope this helps!
My phone won't turn back on or charge anymore. The last thing i did was pause Google Music, then the phone just sat there. It wouldn't go to the home screen or anything, it froze. I pulled the battery and now it won't turn on or charge at all. Won't display the battery charging when i have it connected to the computer or wall. Can't enter fastboot either. I'm currently at work and the computers here wont recognize it when i connected via USB.

I doubt it's bricked. Will it start up into the bootloader?
Again, try pulling the battery for a few minutes. Then put everything back together but wait until you have access to a true USB charger, not a USB port on a computer. I've noticed with a few phones in the past (GNex included) that sometimes when I had a bad crash and the phone went unresponsive, that trying to get a hint of life while using a USB port didn't work as well as a charger. You'll probably have to leave it plugged in for a little bit, but after 15-30 minutes you should once again at least get the white battery charging icon to display front-and-center if you give the power button a single push. At that point, try booting into fastboot, then recovery and clean things up a bit before rebooting into android (Wipe Caches, Fix Permissions).
If not, seriously, do everything again, and wait with it charging overnight. I had a similar issue with my Nexus 10 after doing my first unroot and flashing on it. It took nearly an hour, but then I finally got the charging icon (in that case though, a battery pull wasn't feasible).

Yeah i tried all of that since 1 pm yesterday, that's when it just died on me. I have left the phone charging for over an hour and still don't get any sign of life, not even the white battery charging icon. Left the phone charging overnight, that didn't work also. I tried the OMAP fix but that also failed, it isn't recognized by my laptop.
That's a bummer. Once I had an Epic 4G that I also thought was bricked but the "leave it charge overnight" method worked even though the charging led wasn't on at all. I'm surprised that I now have seen an actual thread with a truly bricked device, not the usual "my phone is going into boot loops its bricked!" thread. Sorry to hear it man.
This may be irrelevant to you, but mine is on verizon and was having charging problems. I went into one of their stores and they had a replacement on the way in under 15 minutes of me coming in. Great service from them if that's who you're with carrier-wise.

Everything was working perfectly on mine, the battery was at 80%. I'm with T-Mobile and i know they don't carry the Galaxy Nexus. Would a Verizon store let me check if a new battery will be turn it back on? If not, guess i have no other choice but to call Samsung =/

Hey everyone. I have huge problem with my Galaxy Nexus i9250 for few days now.
Let me start from beggining.
First it was showing charging symbol even if it ain't plugged in. Then it stopped after I cleaned charging port.
Few weeks back there were great floods in my region (Bosnia) and we were in lack of electricity so I started to charge it on a car charger and after it's completely charged (2h) as soon as I start to use it the battery goes off really fast, example, if I use it for let's say calls or even on "stand by" after 30mins the battery goes for like 40%. That's when problems started to begin. If it was turned off becuase of lack of battery I had to turn it on by pressing "Down volume + power" for first 2 times. Then I had to remove battery for few seconds then put it back not completely but I had to press the battery against those 4 pins which conduct electricity to a cell phone and press those two buttons for like 30 seconds to turn it on. Few days ago, I had same problem, but this time it wasnt empty on battery, it was in my pocked with almost 50% of battery when I took it and I saw it was off. Tried again that same proccedure, it turned on, showed recovery menu and it turned off. Ever since I can't turn it on, it charges, but it doesn't show charging indicator on my screen. When I put my battery in other phone it shows it's fully charged. I can't turn it on, my PC won't reconize it, let's say it's dead. I don't know what's happening, so I'm asking here if anyone knows what to do. Thanks to all.
sounds like a battery + charger issue

You must verify the voltage output of the car adapter you were using with the phone , remember that the fact it has a micro USB does not mean its designed to the specs of your phone, sounds like the battery went berserk after it was charged with that car adapter ... you should not tinker more with the phone and get a new battery and the original charger for it , if you can or are able to ...

Thank you Frank. I already tought nobody will reply to this. So you think if I buy new battery and charger cell phone will start to work?
Car charger was combined, USB cable from Nokia and car adapter is for let's say every cell phone. I have original Samsung Nexus wall charger I got with that cell phone and it charges the battery it just wont turn on the phone. Either PC doesnt want to reconize it, tried with Device Manager to see if is there anything but no. Thank you again for your reply.
Still no luck! Does anyone have something to suggest?
Hmmmm .... still would go for battery malfunction !

you say it charges the battery ? if you are able to see the white icon of the battery charging when the phone is off and you connect the charger , then it's definitely the phone battery .... replace it and lets hope it works out

No, I'm unable to see battery charging indicator. But when I lick the battery you can feel the electricity. Yea, it's stupid method but it does the job. And when I put it in another phone it says it's almost full 99% to be exact. So battery... Gonna buy a new one.

Alright, i have been sailing in the same boat, my i9250 has not been charging for quite some time.
Now for all most few months the phone is charging without any problem. I suspect the Google Search application could be the reason. I uninstalled all the Google Search application update and kept it to the one come by default. Since then i am able to charge my phone without any problem. The Google search version that i have is V 2.2.9.542574.
Try it out. All the best!!
Hi guys,
Another problem with my lg g3.
So yesterday i unplugged the phone from my computer after it was fully charged, went to bed, and after waking up, the phone was 98% charged, had one miss call, returned the call, but couldn't reach the person, so i put the phone down, time to go to work, and when i try waking up the phone, it was completely dead.
I tried all the troubleshooting i read and could think of, nothing, up till this morning, the phone is still dead.
And the funniest part is, if i plug the phone using its usb into my computer, the computer makes that notification sound it often make when the phone is plugged in, so the computer recognized that something was plugged in, yet the phone won't turn on. And no red charging light either.
This is a new phone, never been dropped, not a scratch.
Unfortunately i bought this from a 3rd party brand new, so can't go to tmobile for this, since i use it with my simple mobile service, and don't have registration info that LG requires for warranty.
Any idea would help, thanks
Have you tried a battery pull to see if it will turn back on?
battery pull? what's that? I removed the battery over and over. I also pressed the up vol and power key for over 15secs , i read the tmobile troubleshooting guide as well.
Although i've ordered for a new battery, not sure if battery is the problem or not. But the fact that the phone connects to my computer tells me it isn't totally dead.
Perhaps the battery was no longer taking charge?
did you leave the battery out for a bit without the phone on the charger?
yea, did all that
