I can't access my hard spl through the power+camera+reset combination. My phone boots directly into android. I think I messed up when I was flashing the rom and flashed the android rom over the Hard SPL because I used CustumRUU... because I simply read the instructions wrong.
I'm pretty much screwed aren't I?

SPL does not get written over by flashing andriod to nand. hard SPL allows us to install unsigned roms and performs much like a bios on a computer in that it handles low level functionality.
You could flash back to the factory winmo rom for your device and and run softspl then install hardspl again to see if that fixes your problem.
Yah but I don't know how to flash back to the factory winmo rom since I can't get to that bootloader to flash back using the SDcard by pressing the camera+power and reset, and as far as I've searched, you can't flash back through Android? Right?
I had difficulty in getting to the bootloader recently, but after a few different combinations of reseting and pulling the battery, all while pressing camera + power, it eventually worked.
I know some things stay in memory when you press reset, so reset is not the same as a battery pull.
Try:
Remove battery, replace battery, hold down camera + power, tap reset

my battery cover fell off and the battery popped out. Now when I power on after a soft reset the screen is stuck on the 4.0 Rom page.
The question:
I was going to upgrade to Tom's 4.1 anyway;
will a hard reset get the unit to function again?
Is there a alternative that saves my data?
If no alternative can I upgrade to 4.1 without a hard reset
knowing that I'll lose my data anyways?
Thanks for any help with this
There is no way to retrieve your data - therefore flash to b&b 4.1 via bootloader mode. Hold down record button and soft reset - you'll have a multicolored screen - attach via usb to pc and begin flash (you do not need activesync and if you have already flashed uspl you dont need to do it again.
I just flashed macadam ROM and now my phone keeps soft resetting itself it gets to the touch diamond screen..hangs up and then soft resets..
Please Help

Another option is to flash a stock ROM
i tried stupitly somethings at my new pda, (i set up one rom called DiamondC_HSPL057.exe on Diamond) and now..., soft reset , hard reset, power button ,charge sign, doesnt operate...i tried with full battery but nothing..please help!!!!
i dont think that is a diamond rom.
theres nothing on here named like that.
you might well of bricked it.
If dead try:
...…holding the power button, volume down and hard reset button the same time
.....you can see the bootloader again and (you have to quickly flashed it because it will only sync for few sec) quickly flashed a fresh copy of olipro hardspl and it will be back to life
.....now u can flashed your new rom as a you did before
I have a Stock TILT 2 (TP 2) never flashed running basic programs Mobile Shell never had any issues with it, haven't installed new software in a few weeks , but I soft resetted it this morning and it keeps getting stuck in the boot screen. when first turned on it will run through boot screen then load screen for a millisecond then back to boot screen and never advances again , I've tried battery out sim card out Sd card out everything, even tried hard reset , but wont allow me to hard reset with front buttons and power, is there another way to hard reset , is it possible my phone just bricked for no reason ? thanks for any help ?
have you tried to do a hard reset via the pc? the original rom is on the htc website so you can try useing the exe file there. there is also an updated rom you can try to flash there. hope that helps
You might try sending it to the bootloader screen and reflashing. I don't know if it will work, but I thought it might be worth the effort.
I did notice that HTC removed the original shipped ROM for the Tilt2. I'm sure it is floating around here somewhere. If not, I have it and can send it to you when I get home.
Thanks I have original rom and just released wont work.
dod you see anythign on teh screen? if you do, then hard reset may fix it.
Power off your phone (or take teh battery out). Then press and hold teh call and hang up button while press teh power button. it will enter the hard reset mode. (remember hard reset will erase all the info on the phone and rever tot the stock setting).

wow, thank god i dl'd it when i dl'd the updated rom... and they still have the image of the old rom right beside it... lol
as for op, you can try to enter the bootloader with the following steps
Remove the back cover from the phone.
Hold the Volume Down button.
Use the stylus to press the reset hole.
Or if the device was powered off, press the power button whilst holding down the Volume Down button.
and try to flash from there
hope that helps again
Uhm, long story short My Evo crapped out on me with the endless booting. Now before I get trolled. Yes, I have research this issue for several days now yielding little to no results. I went from only seeing a black screen to the constant reboot after the "drag to unlock screen". The phone has a mind of its own only working when ever it wants to. But after a reboot or a battery pull the cycle begins again until it decides that it wants to run again. So the cards are on the table, I'm up for any suggestions, tips and so what you want to throw at me.
What I've done:
flashing the RUU as a .exe as well as .zip file
OTA Update (gave me the black screen)
Thanks, Don
boot into recovery and wipe all the data then install the rom again?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I was NOT rooted. But, I tried that through the stock recovery (holding volume down+ power through the recovery screen) ANd nothing. Same results. This phone will not defeat me!!
I don't know if this would help. I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302172
You could download the PC36IMG zip and use the bootloader to restore the phone.
If you are not on Sprint, you could do a search for a stock unrooted ROM for your carrier.
Ok if your not a rooted user, which as you say your not, hold your volume button down and power button (after you remove your battery and put it back in), then let go when your screen turns on. You should be at a recovery, find factory reset. All this will do is put your phone back to factory defaults. All your contacts are automatically on your gmail, and will sync to your phone as soon as you sign in with it after your factory reset

Tried this too. I ended up rooting it yesterday using the revolutionary method, hoping that flashing a custom rom could possibly fix the corrupted file or w.e could be causing this, but nothing. This is ridiculous, is it possible that it could be a hardware defect?? If I ever get it booted again, ill post the hardware specs.
Thanks once again,Don.
Update:
currently I managed to get Myn's twopointtwo ROM functioning properly for the time being at least.
Software:
android 2.2
baseband 2.15.00.05.02
kernel 2.6.32.17
hardware 003
When i push the power button it doesn't show me the unlock screen but it reboot the phone.
What can i do?
I pushed the power button and the volume- and entered to the menu, and i tried to do factory reset or clear storage but it didn't do anything.
i have the 2.2 version

It's either service, or installing a RUU.
Being a member for 5 minutes, I presume you don't know what a RUU is. A RUU is the stock software package that HTC uses on their phones. If you install one, you will have your phone as if it just came out of the factory (factory resetting doesn't actually do a factory reset, it just deletes your data).
You have to install the right RUU, or you will brick your phone (like literally, it will be like a brick, unusable). If you wanna play safe, download the 2.3 RUU from my sig. It works for every Desire model, and it's noob friendly.
If you still want Froyo, then you'll have to search for the matching RUU here:
http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Bravo
And you will require a goldcard.
Or you could forget flashing a RUU, root your phone, and install a custom rom.
