even my touch pro had this option in the default camera...

I miss that about my HTC wm phones. Probably the only thing I miss.
+1 I've asked about this before but no response. Even asked on other forums including HTC's. Photostitch is a good attempt, but it really needs to be implemented in the camera app to be useful. I'm not sure why HTC decided to leave that bit of functionality out of Sense for Android.

Cyanogen camera on skyraider 3.0?

I really dislike a few things about sense, however I cant deny that my phone has been running very good with skyraider. Previously I was running cyanogen and I was loving the pure vanilla, but like I said so far skyraider is running alot better. My question is: is there a way I can get the evo or cyanogen camera on my phone now? The stock sense camera is horrible.
I also would love to have the dailer and messaging from vanilla if possible. If I have to push something through abd, can someone please refresh my memory with a step by step process how to do it. The unrevoked programs spoiled me so much I forgot how to access it.
Thanks
I don't have an answer -- but I'm curious: what about the Sense dialer and camera don't you like ... or probably easier to answer: what do you miss about the vanilla dialer and camera?

After using the nexus camera from the cyanogen rom, it took alot better pictures due to on screen button, rather than using the track button, I also liked the option lay or alot better. The dialer and the messaging also was alot smoother and I also liked the layout better also. This rom is alot better running, but I miss some vanilla features
Dailer one from market
Had the same problem as I wanted vanilla dialer

Took a look at it, I really just want the stock dialer, messaging, gallery, and camera. The only thing I like about sense really is the weather animations after awaking it (can't wait to see the snow one).
Can someone please point me in the right direction to doing this, is it possible?

You know you can push anywhere on the screen and hold to take a snapshot using the htc camera...
It actually focuses and takes better pics when you do it that way, too.

[Q] Hack for enabling landscape in Sense?

Sorry if this has been raised elsewhere, but I couldn't find it anywhere...
I know many don't like HTC's Sense. Personally I like it fine, with the huge exception that I can't use my phone in landscape half the time. I don't suppose it would be possible to enable landscape would there?
I'm running rooted stock 2.2.
Do you mean on the home screen???

yeah the home screen for sure, but since contacts, calendar, music, etc... are all modified by sense then none of them can go landscape either.
This is the number 1 reason why I don't use sense/Rosie. Its utterly ridiculous that sense doesnt do landscape.

The sad part is all the images are there (in the framework) for Rosie to go into landscape, they just don't let it. I've seen a mod done that accomplishes this but it looked terrible and would have taken a lot of work to get all the elements to look right. Maybe they gave up and decided to focus on a more important project.. like Sprint Nascar.. or the Sprint Promotion app..
Rosie has such potential but is such a let-down. If they weren't going to go the extra mile and make Sense own everything else then they shouldn't have wasted their time on such a crippled UI.
Sense for Windows mobile does landscape. Why not the Android version HTC? Thats one of the reasons I use adw

I completely agree. Its like they got to a point that they were happy and just gave up. The fact that landscape wasn't a high prirority is either lazy or dumb or both. This is basic functionality. As soon as I found adw way back when, Rosie has never touched my phone.
Yeah it does seem pretty dumb. Well I wonder if when the G2 comes out with an actual keyboard it'll mean that we finally have a landscape Rosie...

Id hope. You'd think that the Evo would have had it since they promoted the hell out of the kickstand. What good is a kickstand if you have to turn the phone vertically to use its most basic functions? Thank God for ADW.

[Q][REQUEST] Panoramic Camera Feature

I have used the Samsung Epic 4G and i like the phone and everything. (LOVE MY EVO BETTER) But........ I have ONE request....
Are there ANY DEVS/MODS who would be able to take the panoramic feature that is in the camera from the Samsung Epic and add it into our EVO phones??? either included in a ROM or just a flashable feature?? THIS is a feature i would GLADLY Pay for.....
I have tried the Photostitch app..... but would rather have the feature built in like on the Epic....
Thanks
Could you not just use adb and pull the camera.apk from the Epic, and install it on the EVO?
Edit: for example,
adb pull system/app/camera.apk

Not good with adb, but I have been WAITING for someone to port the Epic Panoramic Camera app.
If someone does get it to work with the evo it would be amazing!!

I'm assuming that when you tried using adb.... it did not work??
The hardware and frameworks are completely different. Samsung was very tricky with their coding with the Galaxy S line, thank god they open sourced it right away, though. I'm sure given enough time this will end up on a ROM somewhere, but I highly doubt that the camera.apk will work without porting.
Most likely, it will probably just force close after you push the camera.apk to the system/apps. Too bad it's never this easy.
I was hoping it would be that easy. That is unfortunate, I would like to see this.
I would like to see that and a pause button during video recording. That's another really cool capability of the Galaxy S line.

I know it's not a fix but I have found that Photaf works better for me than Photostitch.
Porting over the Camera/Camcorder SW from the Droid X would be best, I think. That had soooo many features like panorama, slow motion video capture, and some other cool stuff!

Definitely looks spectacular, I'll probably try it out and get back. Hope you get the WiFi and such worked out, will post back after test running
ok - not to be a **** or anything but this begs the question:
Why do you WANT blur on your phone? Everyone i know with a blurred motorola phone struggles to make it blurless and wants to remove that crap as much as possible - it is a serious detriment to performance and battery life.

A bit of variety, perhaps?
yea im aware of the many issues, i still have alot of work left with this rom, about landscape mode it should be working just fine even with the keyboard out, also the browser im not sure as i havent fixed wifi so i cant use the internet on the rom. And yes i figured gps was not working again iv got no internet so i have no way of fixing that, i need wifi for that XD. anyways im glad you guys like it.

Because this version of blur is different from the others and better, and well because we on the g2 forums deserve variety, other than the 3 classic roms, sense,cm7 or miui. And no i dont think this rom will drain that much battery or affect performance, our gpu's beats the crap out of the omap that the droids have.
Also found that when calling someone it will restart the phone and it will keep you on the call till the os finishes reloading.

i'm guessing this is based on the Droid X GB leak - the blur is different than the blur on 2.2? My girlfriend was running stock 2.2 on the DX and getitng like 12 hrs of battery life. Then running Liberty 2.1 (blurless 2.2 based) she was getting 24 hours +. I flashed her over to the Liberty GB alphas (has a lot of blur in it) and have yet to see how the batt life is.
What i do know is that if you look @ running services (on the DX Liberty GB) and use an app like autostarts to see the on startup apps - blur has a whole ton of blur stuff that runs in the background from startup on - unrelated to ui changes and widgets.
What i fail to understand is not manufacturer ui (which differentiates) but why it has to be baked in so deep into the OS and kernel that it makes it impossible to remove if - god forbid - you want a more stock experience.
I have a lot of respect for any dev who brings more variety and software choice for our phones and i dont mean to undermine his work. I guess i just get pissed that companies like motorola make it so hard to go stock (particularly mess with that damned bootloader) that they would rather u ruin your device (i soft bricked my gf's droid x once and the only way to get back to stock is a complete SBF flash - a rare turn of events that i've never had the displeasure of running into on an HTC phone).
On a related note to this ROM, i noticed on Liberty GB (but not on Liberty 2.x) you can remove stuff from the notification area because there is a minus button (ie you dont have to clear all notifications or click on the notification itself to clear it - there is a button that enables its removal). Is this part of blur? I'd love to see this ported to AOSP.

In call camera

Quick question. Didnt see this mentioned anywhere sorry if it was. Any way to be able to use the camera during a call? I dont see why it would be disabled but i needed to but couldnt today. Not a big deal just wondering!

i wish this were true. alas using the camera while on a call is not a feature of potatoman's modified camera.apk.
sadly, it's not even in his "possible features [he's] looking at implementing" list.
hope someone can make this mod soon. it's the only camera mod (other than focus sound disabling) that i'm concerned about.
I just tested and it works fine with the Camera Fun app that was free on Amazon a while ago. It's not the stock camera, but it'll work. Right?

Coming from an EVO 4G, this is a feature I miss badly, being able to take a quick picture while on a call. I remember the original Epic couldn't do it either and it was one of the reasons I went back to the EVO. I'm not planning on leaving the SGSIIE4GT though
Been having trouble with this as well. Will go and experiment with those and come back!
anything new on this ?
What's the issue here? Taking a picture while on a call, or are we talking about video calls?
I believe it is a touch wiz issue. I have the Samsung Epic with Cyanogenmod you can take a picture which making a phone call because it does not have touch wiz but with every touch wiz Rom you can't. You can wait for Cyanogenmod to support your phone. But you will be waiting a long time.

Yeah the issue is when you are on a voice call if you try to take a pic you are not allowed to even load the camera app at all. Even if you hit the Home button and goto the main screen (with call in background) there is no way of doing it. It's kinda annoying at times when you have to tell someone "Hey let me call you right back I need to take a pic of something and send it to you"
I've had to do that far to often then I'd like to lol.
