hi all
i am sure this will have popped up somewhere before but can't find anything at the mo.
I would love to be able to put a small callendar widget on the lock screen, i don't want to interact with it just see the next one or two appointments
any one got a way of doing this preferably without spending money?
cheers

I love the tabs (used USB Home customizer to edit some icons and tabs) but the huge clock takes up all the space on the screen. I'd rather see more of my calender, than that stupid clock.
I know that I could use SPB Mobile Shell, but that program changes the way I do everything on my phone, and it takes up too much memory. It would be perfect if i could just use the home screen and nothing else.
If anybody knows of some alternatives, please let me know. I'm currently using the TodayAgenda plug-in and I'd like to see more of it and at the same time see my battery status and just the tabs of contacts, phone profiles, ect.

I like the Clock, it could be a bit smaller though.
Can we change the size?
regards
tim
I agree - a smaller clock would be a beaty.
I do completely agree. The clock should be (my opinion) quarter size, or less.
Agenda, calendar
What usually do people is to write in the agenda everything that woul like to do in a day, usualy never done.
Well to change item from one day to anther is a tedious work, specially because when you have changed some thing from 5 days ago to today (i.e.) then the day showed is today (instead 5 days ago, the day where you was working in order to move what you did´nt make)
Don't think ist possible, the clock is just 1 of the options of the HTC home plugin. When you click weather, contacts or programs, the size is the same as the height of the clock.
hm, not quite keeping htchome,
but how about using htc plus instead?
customizable via:
The layout is stored entirely as bmp images under \Windows\HTCPlus. And all the programs chosen can be modified under HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCPlus\Shortcuts.
see attachment:
I prefer normal thc home plugin coz plus not for my mobile freezes and totally slowing down of my artemis. Maybe no good with fracoon 2.2 version, but i dont think so.
Hey guys,
been looking around about customising my Touch HD but a little unsure if a different theme can help me here, I really like the current theme I have; which is just default with some extra taskbar icons; simple but effective!
Thing is I want to add notes or reminders or something to the today screen, so I can view things at a glance without having to add them to the calendar, things like a reminder to pick up some beers on the way home, or a reminder to go post some letters or even a shopping list! Though I'm pretty sure I saw an app somewhere around that was called shopping list, would ideally like to be able to dismiss reminders etc by touching them then confirming or something similar, so I can check stuff off as I've done it easily..... at the moment I only have Call history and Calendar on the today screen; anyone know of a way to edit what is displayed on the today screen?
EDIT: I just realised this makes me sound a complete moron lol, I mean being able to add things to the TF3D today screen, otherwise i'd just use the winmo version, however I really like the touchflo interface just wish there was more customisation available!
Also if I download an iphone theme (just to confuse the mac fanboys at uni...) can I easily switch between that and my current theme after a soft reset or something? Or does it involve me editing it via the activesync?
Hope someone can help!
It might be better for you to install something like second today or touchflo detacher.. that way you can switch between touchflo and your iphone theme at the touch of a button..
or you can use the second today to put all the information you want on the winmo today screen.. the screen real estate on the HD is amazing.. and then map your iphone theme to another program and have all three hotswapping on the touch of a button.
Personally I think part of the beauty of touchflo is the lack of clutter on each tab.. adding too much to the homescreen defeats the object.

Agreed. I use 2ndToday & PocketBreeze, activated by the left soft key on the TF3D home page.
hmmm did want to just have it all there to be seen as soon as I turned on the phone, tho after reading more extensively around the internet I see it's just not possible at the moment. However I'll hold out hope that one day it'll be possible!
Might try that 2nd today screen thing, might be a bit of a pain to have to flip between them but hey... needs must. Might also look into properly customizing it to look snazzy as I've seen a lot of peoples today screens look rather nice!
In practice it's not a pain... it's a touch screen so it becomes habit to touch the button or slide the slider as you pick up your phone in one motion.
I did have a go with slide2unlock but it didnt seem to work properly, might have to play with it some more.
Hi guys-
this is really a great forum - thanks for the great work! Excellent help for a TP2 newbie.
Touch Pro2 impressions: I just upgraded (vzw) from my ancient (and yet incredibly reliable) Motorola Q, and this thing is truly awesome. I used a Touch Pro almost a year ago, and returned it because it felt sluggish and a bit buggy. I think the 2 is a major improvement. Very responsive, great phone and speakerphone, great wifi and bluetooth and gps, great keyboard (but no tab key?), better battery, surprisingly inexpensive.
Questions that I couldn't find answers to in previous threads:
1. Reminders: I see that the calendar reminders do not allow any option for changing the snooze time - it is just 5 minutes. Weird, as my WinMo 5 Q would let me choose a range of time, from 5 minutes up to a week, as I recall. This is disappointing. But even more disappointing is that when it is attached via usb to my pc, synched, and a reminder pops up in Outlook (2003), I can snooze on the PC, but that snooze does not synch with the TP2. Any ideas or suggestions? This is actually very frustrating.
2. Calendar: I have seen screen shots of the day view that has weather, even for future dates. I don't have that - anyone know how to enable?
thanks in advance for any help!
This worked for me to get the snooze options back:
Start a registry editor and navigate to key:
HKLM/System/Shell/Notification/OEM
Change the value of CustomUIDLL from NotificationLayout.dll to NotificationLayoutNew.dll
Just add New, it won't find that .dll and starts the old interface, with the snooze option.
Don't forget, after the registry change, turn the TP2 off and back on to activate.
Regarding your question about the weather forcast in the calendar day-view, you need to set your city in the World Clock screen (ie, tap the large clock on the Home tab).
There's a great hack (cRaCKwHoRe's Snooze Options) which gives you the snooze options back.
Also worth looking at are "InboxExtender", (allow read all, delete al options) and "Smaberg X1 Powerbutton 12 icons actionscreen" (12 options on holding the power button down)
You guys rule!
@itm - reg fix works great - thanks
@ohyeahar - that's it, thanks
@en_croute - I will try it as soon as i get some time, sounds useful, thanks

I just noticed that the current weather is not shown for me either.
I do have a city selected. In the "day" view on the calendar is just shows the single appointment I have. If I change to yesterday. I do see a weather picture. I went to the TF3D weather tab.. it was initially blank.. it updated and showed the current weather. I went back to the calendar view.. still nothing for "today". Only yesterday. Any ideas?
What is a good registry editor?
Never used one before and I need to find one so I can get my battery icon back after doing Battlevel.cab .

PHM_Regedit or Total Commander are the two most recommended ones here.
PHM is a little easier to navigate/use (mostly due to visual elements), but Total Commander also has a full set of file-explorer functions that PHM does not. Both are free.
Thank you so much sirphunkee. I was beginning to think nobody talked to newbies on this forum. I'll definetly be looking both of these up.
Okay I looked at both of them and downloaded the PHM_Regedit. Now I can't figure out if I should use MyMobiler to drag the Zipped cab file over or if I should unzip it first? When I unzipped it it did not look like a cab file. Does this work on a Sprint phone? Some of the cabs don't work on a Sprint phone. I'd hate to do another hard reset to get it to work like it is.

Hey there, no problem...we were all new here at one point, and asking the same types of questions
I'm not sure what source you downloaded it from, so I'm not entirely sure how it might have been packaged, but I would have guessed it should have just been a regular .cab file inside of a .zip. Either way, you can just download and use the cab I've attached here, I can confirm this one works just fine.
You can use MyMobiler to drag the cab over to your phone (it drops it in your "my documents" folder by default), and it will start the install automatically for you. Once you have it installed, you'll just find the icon to run it in your regular list of programs. And yes, it will work just fine on the CDMA (Sprint/Verizon) versions of the TP2...it's specific to what type of processor your phone has, not what type of radio.
Now, if you're not entirely familiar with registry editing, it's a good idea to read up on it a bit...it's very simple to do, but also very simple to create issues by doing the wrong thing. Also, it's always a good idea to create a backup of your registry (PHM can do that for you, just store it the backup on your SD card for safe keeping), in case anything goes wrong, you can just revert back to the working version
Is there any cab available to turn the 15 contacts icons on the "contact" tab of the new Sense 2.5 to 20 icons? I'd like to have more people in there.
I would second that
the shortcuts are little too big for me
and needs to be more
+ 1
If there is a cab for it I would love to have it
Should be possible, but don't know how. They got it working for the shortcuts on the homescreen also.....
+1 WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THIS!
Please some1 should be able to do this if they can do it for quick links.
i am waiting for it too!
Bump to the top pls develupers!
Unsure if this is possible. Maybe to increase to add more to it.. but not the resize.
Once you resize.. (such as the 4 on home page...) you cannot add contacts with pictures. It simply shows a blank pic. Program Icons show ok... not contacts..
this would be nice, also the program launcher on the home screen could be more than just the 9

Using miri rev 11 contact pics showed correctly when using the extra shortcuts on homescreen.. but unfortunately not in the later builds...
Anyway i would also like extra contacts or resized would be even better
+1that would be good to have
What about this? Not exactly what you want, but what goes

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552558
avatar is nice...but only 12 icons...
My contacts tab in Manila si disabled and I use Iconsoft PhonEx. You can put so many contact pictures as you like and slide them up and down
..........
that looks like another nice app...but $25 USD for an app that shows icons on the screen ??!!! That's too high for ANY pda software in my opinion - it should come with a lifetime supply of chocolate bars!
I ask the question;
People buy a pda for many reasons but for most people one of those reasons is to communicate with their contacts. Why then should we have to pay extra money for software that simply displays a good viewable list of our contacts?? The real answer is we shouldnt. If I get spare time I'm going to write a .NET app that does it and providing it here for free. I hate how hard HTC have made it to customize manilla.
can someone make it the way it used to be?
I like to add a shortcut of people on one of my home screens since I can do a 4x4 grid but now whenever i do it screws up the names.
ie it only lists the first part of the name now instead of the whole name
ie..
before I had a Rick G. Rick S.
now all it says is Rick no matter how i modify the contact card
This is a bummer. Anyone have any ideas?
Are you willing to pay for an app? There are quite a few widgets that do what you're looking to do.
