I tried installing the nfl unlocker 64 file by changing the zip to apk and attmepting to install it. Well it didn't work and right afterward I got an ! mark and it said card in read mode only. So I cannot delete, edit...files etc on the sd card. I am at work. No way to connect it to the pc to back up the sd card to try reformatting it, does anyone know any other ways to get this read mode off? I do have terminal emulator installed.
TIA
Yep this has happened thrice to me. Others have experienced this also after froyo.
One or two have stated trying to fix the card error using windows scan disk (if you have access to a pc) fixed the error. I have had success by copying the card image file, inserting the card into a card reader on the ltop, formatting the card there, then restoring the backed up image.
Aa stated this happened to me more than once. Has not happened in a few weeks.

I can't access the recovery anymore, can't connect it for disk drive. ROM MGR can't open the card either. I have Clockwork Recovery & I don't know what to do to get the card back to normal. Suggestions please? How will I access my Root if it's stored on this card? Don't know what to do......
Thanks in Advance...
Sometimes a file on my sd card will become corrupt, causing it to mount read only. I'm wondering if you meant to say your card was read only? If so, try plugging your card into a computer and copying the contents to the PC. If an error pops up about a file, delete that file from the card and you should be good to go. If no error happens, make a backup of the card, then reformat the card on your PC, pop it into your phone and format it again under settings->sdcard. Then just copy the contents from your PC back onto it.
Since this my first post I can't provide a link. This is a copy and paste from a different forum. Worked for me and I didn't have to reformat:
"I approached it without reformatting. I took the SD card out and loaded it into a card reader and looked at the file system on the card. One of my subdirs in my Music directory was corrupted and I wasn't able to delete the folder.
So I right clicked on the removable drive and went to properties.
From there I clicked on the TOOLS tab and then on the CHECK NOW button for error checking.
I ran this a few times until I was finally able to kill the remaining files in that subdir.
I then reloaded the card and everything seems ok, except I need to reload my music."

Thanks. Both of these I have noted & will try. I appreciate You Guys taking time to help.... GOD Bless!
I was wondering if another Desire user could help me out. I had a bit of a problem with my phone and had to switch it off and remove my micro sd card, but when I plugged it into my computer with an adapter there was no useful information on it for me to get back. This either means that this is standard and the micro sd card can only be read properly when the sd card is in the Desire and then plugged in. Or that my sd card has an error.
Could someone please help with this and let me know what files they can see when they put their micro sd card into their computer directly.
The picture is what I see.
Run Checkdisk (chkdsk) then file restoring software, to recover your files.
Then Re-format the card. Happened to me once, everything got meesed up. Re-format helped.

Checkdisk isnt a recovery software, but I ran it already, and I tried the recovery program but I cant seem to be recovering anything but more useless information, I dont know if the data is lost or if its still on the card but only readable through the desire itself.
Can someone please do what I said in my original post and let me know what they can see with just the micro sd card in the computer
Thanks
CHKDSK is scans for harddrive damage and it DOES recover the files, but with the .chk extension.
These are the files on my SD:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
If thats the case then thanks for letting me know.
I ran chkdsk like this.
Plugged in the micro sd card in the computer, went to my computer and right clicked the SD card, clicked properties, went to tools and then error checking.
Selected both the check for system errors and scan for bad sectors. Started it and 2 seconds later it closes and doesnt actually do anything taht I can see. I go back to the sd card and still nothing has changed.
Where should it be putting the recovered .chk files?
Cant wond scan via windows, so i did it by cmd. Said it couldnt convert threads as there is no room. So I'm guessing I have to format it first. I hope this doesnt get rid of my files permanently, I didnt have any other copies of my contacts or anything, and phone is completely broken.
in settings/sd card&phone storage, i can see SD card

Mount SD card
Insert an SD card for mounting
Erase SD card
Erases all date on the phone's SD card, such as music and photos
The last two items (Mount SD card and Erase SD card) are grayed out.
Have formatted the card several times to fat32 through computer, where it works, using a memory card reader. But for example, the music widget doesnt say "please insert sd card", instead "no music found...." and when i go to the application then it says insert sd card, but not the widget. Also LeeDROID POST screen when vbooting states: "Detecting phone storage:microSD"
Has any1 had similar problem? Is there something i can try or is the card irreversably corrupted?
Try to use recovery from my signature, and repartition it. (using recovery)
canĀ“t flash it. only oneclick method would be possible, but your intructions there are confusing start runme.cmd what does that mean?
It's in the .zip file, double click it...
when i click on the .img file, powerarchiver opens. and the recovery is still the same
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=661320&stc=1&d=1311252283
Download and extract on your pc to flash while your phone is fully booted (not in recovery).
usb debugging must be on (settings/applications/development)
unzip the file
If you are on Windows: start runme.cmd // Unixfreaks start runme.sh
finished
adb server is out of date, it says. then goes into a loop
seems like i downloaded something else earlier.
It doesnt find some data/local/tmp/flash_image etc files. Plus it always complaints that adb server is out of date
I'm out of ideas sorry.

Make sure you installed android sdk correctly:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Howto:_Install_the_Android_SDK
Then turn off your phone and start it with pressed back button.
Open cmd and navigate to your android sdk folder.
Connect your phone to your computer.
In cmd enter:
Code:
fastboot devices
to make sort fastboot recognizes your phone.
If so, enter
Code:
fastboot oem enableqxdm 0
Now your sd card should be recognized again.
Swyped from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App
Have tried it several times. fastboot devices shows my device, but the command afterwardsgives me an bootloader command error
Amphor, why did you start a new thread on this same issue? I've given you 3 fixes for your problem...
The problem turned out to be something different from why started the first thread? Didn't it?
Does your PC see your card??
How did you fix your 1st problem btw?
Because i see your still getting bootloader errors ... the same errors you were getting in your last thread!?
The errors are the same but the problem is slighlty more accurate, i feel.
Computer recognizes the card both through card reader and through recovery "Mount USB storage"
Something problem with Android, because i tried it into an old LG with LG's own operating system and there i could view the contents of the card, for example. I had nothing on the card at that time so i couldn't test music playing, for example
Formatted i n FAT32 and i believe it's the only option

Is it fixed now?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
It's not, i was just saying that the card is formatted in FAT32 and said that it's the only file system possible, i think
gparted looks like this

edit: formatted as i always did in FAT32 and the problem disappeared. I guess that's one of those problems that solves itself

I told you to do that in the last thread its always good to start fresh if you can when you have problems ... At least you learnt something .. so is everything fixed?
What SD Card are you using?
size? class?
I had the same problem once.
Greetings XDA,
I would love help with my current situation. I am in the military and really need my phone working so my soldiers can contact me ^^;.
I have an HTC Evo, the older (original) version, and followed the steps here:
http: // htcevohacks <dot> com/htc-evo-hacks/root-for-htc-evo-4g-gingerbread-is-here/
It seemed to work just fine, and so I connected my phone to my computer to transfer some files. However, after about a minute, the my computer didn't recognize that my phone was connected anymore and I didn't even have the option for "disk drive" on my drop down list. Apparently, my SD card was unmounting itself. After rebooting and trying again about a dozen times, I decided to bypass the phone/usb deal and connect the sd card directly thought an adaptor. My computer recognized it and opened the drive, but once I tried to delete or move any file, the drive would dismount.
Becoming fustrated, I decided to try and wipe the SD card/format it, but because my phone won't recognize it and it dismounts itself from my computer, I can't do either.
Now my phone only boots into the bootloader and doesn't recognize the SD card at all.
I thank you for taking the time to read my post, and appreciate any help you can provide.
I would try swapping in another sd card

I don't currently have another SD card, nor do I really want to spend money on another one; if I can avoid it.
I've tried formatting the SD card several different ways:
Through basic windows means (Right Click > Format)
Through CMD Prompt
Through Admin Tools - Comp Mgmnt - Disk Mgmnt
Through 3rd party programs, etc
However, whenever I try to move a file to the sd card, move something out of, delete, format, or any other type of specific access, my computer can then no longer recognize it.
Is there any way for me to get my phone past bootloader, without the sd card? I've tried resetting all user data in recovery, but it seems that no matter what I do, I can't get past the bootloader.
Is there anyone out there with a solution?
Perhaps there are other details I can provide, just inquire.
So you can get into recovery? Have you tried formating the sd card with recovery?

What happens when you try to mount sd card in recovery? All in all it may be a bad sd card. And you might have to get a new one. Or if you got a friend that has a spare one you can use.

Thank you for your prompt replies.
Whenever I try to mount/access my sd card on the phone, it simply doesn't find it. I am using the same 8gb sd card that came with the phone, and I've had the phone since day 1 release.
The more and more I try to fix or find a solution to this problem, the more frustrated I am getting; and the more it is seemingly looking hopeless =/.
Hi, I have an SD card that seems to be corrupt in some way and heres whats going on. My friends mother was trying to copy some files off her phone and onto her SD card. Well she canceled one of the copies and after that nothing on the card was readable. Well after rebooting the phone it says that the card is unformatted or unsupported. Well after plugging it into a Windows computer it does not appear at first. After a few minuets of waiting it will appear but will not load the partition. Attempting to run CHKDSK returns that it can't be run on a RAW File System. At this point what can be done? She really wants to get the photos off this card.

Sounds like it's reached End of Life. I have had some success in using a different device to read the card. I couldn't read a failing card from my PC but I was able to stick the card into a camera and then connect the camera to the PC via USB and get the files off. I guess not all devices read the card the same way.
