[Q] Weird music problem, on SD card - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A while ago I copied some albums onto my SD card (in a folder called Music) and when I went into the Music App they all appeared and played fine.
Since then i have deleted one of the albums and copied in a few more but when i go into the Music App now , i only see the original albums i coped a while ago, ie i still see the deleted one and i dont see any of the new ones.
I loaded up 3 (cubed) and this does the same
is there a music library i need to refresh or something?

fixed it myself, a dismount and mount of SD card worked, i guess a reboot would have done the same job

No videos, pictures or music found in gallery

Hi guys,
Today I opened a game on my phone and it suddenly crashed so I force closed the game and uninstalled it.
Now when I open the gallery or the music player itbsays no pictures, videos found and in the music player it says no music found!
I used efile manager to take a look to the files on the SD card and the pictures are on the SD card and can see them when I tap on them in the file manager just like always. But they are not in the gallery or the music player.
After that I removed the SD card without knowing you can unmount the SD card.
After that I unmounted the SD card and did it several times.
But it's still the same.
Please help me
What should I do?

Hi,
I took pictures and videos today with the DHD and went to upload them but the internet was too slow and it consumed all the battery, so the battery died and of course the phone turned off. Now I went to send the videos from the DHD to my pc and the new videos and pictures I took are not not in the gallery anymore.
And the phone still doesn't recognize the Music, Videos and Pictures that were already taken with the DHD itself.
SO now it says No Videos or Pictures found and says No Music found in the Music player.
Pleaseee help me I really need help with this problem.

Make a backup of your memory card then format it.....see if the gallery can read files again then paste back on your backup
.......apart from that don't know what else ......are you using HTC gallery or android stock gallery

Hi,
I will try it out today.
I am using the only gallery you find in the apps tab. And the video and music player in the app tab.
I will try making a backup and format the microsd card and see if it works.
Thanks for the help.
Hi,
NOW I know what my problem was. I didn't know how to work with that nomedia folder.
NOW I know that putting the .nomedia folder on the SD card it will not scan the items to the gallery. I thought that because the .nomedia folder was empty it is not working
I was nearly going to buy a new SD card.
But now I have a problem that I can't find the videos that I took when I had that problem.
The videos are not on the sd card :S
Please help!
with in 2 days, have had this .nomedia file turn up on my sd card, and it deletes my video files.....
any idea why??
please

Music Files issue

Hey I just bought this phone yesterday (had the galaxy before)
and today i opened up the music player and loaded the songs from my sd card, but for some reason everything is (about 90%) of my songs are under the album "audio" with unknown as the artist/album. but then the rest of the 10% song are under albums...how can i fix this? its quite annoying now to find songs by certain artist since everything is UNKNOWN.
i also tried using another music player (pro player or something like that) and same thing
either your files lost the mp3 tags for some unknown reason, or something else is wrong there.
either case try out this great app
JukeFox free from Market
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
so is there any way to diagnose the problem to see what it REALLY is?
also is there an easy way to put the tags back onto the files?
OKAY SO I FIGURED THIS ONE OUT LOL
go to settings, applications, all, find 'media storage' click on it. clear data.
then go to settings and sd storage, unmount sd card. then once available, hit mount sd card. let it scan fully
then go to music player and all songs should be grouped into albums, etc etc etc..
someone can close this thread now and keep it for reference for newbies like myself who run into this issue

[Q] MicroSD card problem

Hi, I recently bought a Note 2, came from a S2(great phone by de way) and I just love it. I put my old microsd card from my S2 to the Note and no problems saving photos from camera and stuff. Last few days I put some movies, pics, music and wallpapers to the sd card to see how awesome the Note screen is. But here comes the problem, I cant view some photos(or folders with pics, the just dont show up), with the stock apps, same with videos and music. So I just formated the card and now the music showed up, but the pics remain unseen, or videos, I formated again using the PC, and pics showed up but music and videos didnt. I installed another gallery(quickpic), video and music player(poweramp) app and I can play all the videos, music and pics stored on the card. I can open them using solid explorer(or default samsung explorer too) to play the files. So i think is a problem with the stocks apps or the card, I bought a new card and the problem remained, I factory reset the phone and the problem persist(tried the card on my sister's Note 2 and same problem). I cleared cache, data of the apps and media, didnt work. So all thats left is to ask the experts on this forum from help. Thanks in advance, sorry for my bad english. Greetings from Venezuela

[HELP] Internal storage media not showing up

I'm on CC4.2 right now and I've been usin it for months now, however today I rebooted my phone and suddenly all my internally stored photos aren't showing up (eg: gallery), only Sd Card media are shown. However I can still open my interal photos in their folders individually (DCIM, etc) I tried a media scan but no good. Earlier (yesterday) i tried the gallery app Lumiffic and it was enhancing some photos, but i stopped the process. Could it be the cause?

The Problem with Google Play Music Mp3 saving directory!

I have a tiny issue with Google play Music directory! When I buy a song I download it on the SD card I find the actual Mp3 in the directory:
Android/Data/com.google.android.music/Files.
But I have no SD card anymore and I can't find the actual mp3. The same directory in the internal memory is empty!
Have someone the same problem and probably solution?
And if I buy the new Nm Card from Huawei, can I find the my music files there?
Thanks!
Google Play Music .mp3 files that have been downloaded to the device are located by default in the internal directory you have quoted, but they cannot be seen. Once you insert an SD card and go into Google Play Music settings and change the default download directory to SD card then the files are moved to the identical directory on the SD card and are suddenly visible. Why I don't know, but it was also driving me nuts until I purchased and inserted a Huawei NM card, changed the default download location, and voila - I could 'see' my music library (although Google Play Music annoyingly replaces the .mp3 titles with numbers).
I found a small Solution of the problem without to buy a NM Card. The card is way too expensive and with 128 gb internal memory I don't really need It.
You can log you in from the Device's internet browser in your Google account and set the browser to go in Desktop mode.
Then go to music library and you can download any track you've purchased, but CAREFUL - only two Times! (I don't know why. Google is a weirdo!)
