[Q] Flashing themes

okkay so im completly new to this but anyways first of all my clockwork is blue(isent it soppoused to be green?) and a little android guy in the back with an exclamation point.(i download clockwork thou ROM manager app) i rooted my phone with 1 root click thing. im on eclair and kernal says 2.6.29 (im trying to do the stock phone with custom themes) when i open room manager and try to install a custom kernal it says openning and the says signature not verified and then installation aborted. also im trying to install this apk but i cant find it on the roms list in rom manager. do i need to have a custom kernal?
Basicly i want to know how to:
Flash themes(what kernal and junk do i need to do first)
That is the stock recovery not cwm you have. You can't use rom manager to install cwm. You have to run the one click root with cwm and you don't need a custom kernel to flash a theme just a deodexed rom. Once you get a deodexed rom put the theme on the root of your sd card and boot into recovery. Once into recovery you want to clear cache and dalvik cache then flash the theme.
If the original poster can follow that, then disregard the next sentence. I would suggest checking out the stickied threads in the development section for instructions. It'll help u step by step.
clockwork?
okkay im trying to do this rom noobnl-andromeda-galaxy-rom but would my clockwork work with that? cause its probraly going to say signature failed.
Follow the advise given above, go read, then re-read before you keep asking questions that are answered there or fry your phone.
i feel dumb
so the whole reason was that when i clicked quick boot app it took me to the stock recovery but when i did the 3 button way it worked perfect.

Can you see the apps you are interested in in the app-store?

Flash gapps
Hi, I just recently had the same problem as you (Ithink). The anwser is to download and flash 'gapps' on top of Mod Rom. Find the link by going to my question in Desire Q&A named 'No Android Market'.(look for blue question mark icon, near page 6) Make sure that you delete user history and cache before flash. You should then have working Android Market icon on your Desire. you will need to register with google as part of the set-up(after flash) so have your wi-fi enabled. Good Luck, baab666.
that means i have to flash my mobile again?
No
No, you just flash gapps,
1) download gapps.zip
2) place gapps on sd card
3) boot into recovery
4) clear user data and cache
5) install gapps
6) re-boot and register with google.
thank you very much
now my market is working
but all my data was lost
Sorry
Yeah, Sorry about that, you're meant to load 'gapps' straight away after Mod Rom. If you don't clear 'User Data' and Cache then it doesn't work. Shouldn't take you long to get sorted again. I use Cyanogen Mod 7 (Rom) and it is very nice, try that next time. baab666.

[Q] Google Play store missing

Hi everyone, I've just flashed Codename 3.6.6 and kernel MS5 and everything seems fine However, when i switched on the phone my Google play store app is missing. So is there anyway I could re download it? Many thanks
did you flash the gapps for the rom? i bet you didnt.
what do you mean the gapps of the rom? Sorry im just a newbie dont really understand it
Download this: http://androtransfer.com/get.php?p=Gapps/gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip
And flash it the same way you flashed your ROM. Wipe cache and dalvik-cache first though.
go into the thread where you found the download for your rom, and under the download link it says something like "Google Apps" or "Gapps download"
download it, flash it in cwm.
please read rom flashing instructions if you are a newbie at this.

Read the first post. Download 'Google Apps' and flash via recovery.

Procedures to update OTA for AOKP

I'm currently on AOKP 4.2.1 and I wanted to know the proper procedures for updating over the air. I've downloaded the 4.2.2 zip through the AOKP OTA updater on my phone but should I now choose the "Flash existing" option and simply install from zip when I'm in clockwork recovery? Or do I have to clear all the cache and install the rom and then the gapps once again?
I'm hoping its simple as installing from zip because I don't want to redownload all the apps and rearrange my home screens again. BTW I did use the search feature but nothing came up. Apologize in advance if I didn't look properly

[Q] Google Apps on Stock Android

Hello,
I'm trying to install Google Apps on Stock Android on my Fairphone as described in this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wik...pps_on_Fairphone_FP1_Stock_Android_.28AOSP.29), but installation always stops and says "installation aborted". What do I do wrong? Can anybody help?
I don't have to unzip the zip-file, do I?
Thanks for your help!
Cheers,
Felix

The googleapps.zip I had uploaded 7 months ago was outdated; I just updated the link in the wiki (here's the file) after performing a fresh extraction from the newest AOSP ROM. You don't have to unzip the file; just move it into phone storage, reboot to recovery, and flash the zip. Should work.
Hope this helps!

I had to do this to install GApps on AOSP: install FPOS 1.6, start the GApps installation. Safe copy the GApps zip. Install AOSP. Istalls the GApps with the saved zip.
I opened a call with Fairphone to find out if they could publish the link to the GApps zip file so we can skip these steps next time.
