I just don't get it lol..
I keep going to program them and find NO real use for them.
I just use them for my gf, brother, and well nothing for the 3rd one
edit:
3rd one is now the browser
I have one set for music two for composing text screen and three for xda. Mainly use the compose text screen because I don't have to open messaging and then click compose, just click button then enter name and type text

Same with me - I use them for launching programs that I use heavily use the keyboard for.
first goes to compose sms
second goes to compose email
and the third goes to connectbot
I used mine with launcher pro to go to home screen. There is a menu on the keyboard, so I wanted the full set.
I add the "home button" quick launch with launcher pro, just go to "activities" and scroll down to launcher pro. It should be the first activity under the application.
The only one I want now is the "back" button.
I use it to directly text my gf with 1 click then type message

I only have one configured so far, it launches Voice Actions.

Sorry if this is not worth creating a thread.. But I am wondering what you guys use for your 3 buttons you get to assign anything to do for suggestions for myself.. I can't seem to think of any good ideas, I'm sure some of you have some pretty good ideas to help me.. Thanks a lot
1: Twidroyd Pro new tweet popup activity
2: Messaging
3: Launcher Pro.. w/ home button set to show notifications within LP. So home then notifs
I haven't even bothered to assign them to anything. Would probably be more efficient to just keep shortcuts on the home screen. I mean you get 4x4 apps per page with 7 pages that's 112 shortcuts. I don't really see the need to assign 3 buttons more.

I use them for the 3 things I use the keyboard for most: Messaging, Google Voice, and Talk. Once everyone starts using my GV number I'll probably replace messaging with Gmail. But I figure while I have the keyboard out those are the apps i'm most likely to be using, so I made them the shortcuts.
is there a way to create a shortcut on the home screen to call log because 99% of my calls are from the log?
I hate that the phone app by default launches the dialer, like anyone ever uses that. ideally it should remember the last tab but it doesn't.
Activity name in Launcher Pro Activities is "com.sonyericsson.android.socialphonebook.callslist.RecentCallsListActivity"
I can use LauncherPro create shortcut for this
Default Launcher need other App for Creating shortcut
I've try "AnyCut" but not work
You could also try downloading life.contacts it uses a widget to short cut to your most contacted..

Recommend you should use dialer one instead of default
You will forget default fone quickly.
I will do that
Hi
on my HTC desire, I was used to have handcent ; by long pressing the "search" key, a window pop up in order to write a new SMS
Is it possible to have the same behaviour on S II ?
Thanks
David
Which search key?
On the hTC desre, there is a magnifying glass button.
Once I installed handcent, a long press on it opens a handcent popup window in order to write a SMS and I would like to have the same feature on my new samsung galaxy s2
Thanks
I use Handcent on my SG2 with Launcher Pro. I use this same feature by assigning the "Quick Compose" activity via the launcher pro activities shortcut.
1. You must first enable the quick compose option within Handcent under "Send Message Settings"
2. Then you would select launcher pro shortcut by choosing activities, then scroll to find the specific Handcent activity of "Handcent Quick Compose" near the bottom of the Handcent section
Now you have a shortcut to a new message compose box.
I shortcut it to a swipe gesture right on top of the Handcent icon I have docked in launcher pro.
Works great for me.
I'm looking for an sms widget that allows you to write a reply in the actual widget without opening a new window.
I'm using wave launcher to temporarily open widgets on top of whatever I have open at the time, go sms widget almost had it with a small pop up window that opened over most apps but it still shut down Thd games when I tried to right an sms.
Anyone know of anything like this?
Try SMS Popup from Google Play
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sIm5ldC5ldmVyeXRoaW5nYW5kcm9pZC5zbXNwb3B1cCJd
Sms pop up seems great but I'm really after a widget. Basically a widget that does the same function as sms pop up, that way I can open the widget when I want to reply rather than as soon as I get the text.
You can download the GO SMS app from the playstore,it's free and the widget allows you to do what you want, also you could also download the Go Launcher, personaly i think it's a little better than the wave launcher.
Go sms doesn't work for this purpose because you can't write text in the actual widget, instead a pop up window appears, this pop up closes Thd games that are running.
Also wave launcher is not a home launcher like go launcher (I'm currently using apex launcher) its a app/shortcut/widget task manager similar to swipepad, which I'm using to view and interact with widgets on top of whatever app I'm running.

Any way you can get the default dialer app to display the numpad when opening up? It's relatively unhelpful when it just displays a bunch of white space.

Well if you open the app, bring up the dial pad and close it but leave it in memory it should open back up the way you left it.

So you don't have "favorites"?? I thought everyone had those....
I'd put the people I call/text/email the most in favorites that way they show up. If you don't want to do this then open the dialer> open up keypad> then hit home button. Re-open dialer and keypad pops up on mine

It does open favorites by default. Favorites are helpful, but on ROMs like HTC Sense, the number pad opens when you launch the dialer and you can either dial a number right away or use the letters on the number pad to type the first few letters of a contact name to search for someone and then hit call.
I guess these are some of the finesse things that change among ROMs and I could download a different dialer app in the play store.
