In the Slide ROM Bible Sticky Thread located @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=704567
You obviously don't have to go through the root process, just flashing the ROM.

Moved to Q&A. Please don't post question threads in Development.

Just do that, they aren't going to check for root. Just put it back on the stock rom with root.
wrong forum
people. This is the development forum. Please don't create a new thread here asking questions. That belongs in the Q&A or the General forum.

I am a noob to this rooting thing, but I flashed my roms a few times and rooted.
From what I thought once rooted always rooted... You have Super Powers now why take them away. LOL. On a serious note. I am a noob to this forum and I will try to keep my post where they belong. I do agree with the other comment this is the development part so keep the questions in Q&A. I seen this question on this part of the forum at least 10 times myself and I am new here lol. Here is a little bit of info I found so hope it helps you...
There's been some confusion about how to get back to a stock rom without root in case you want to bring your phone back for warranty or return. First off this is basically this method is the first half of this thread from whitslack:
ttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715915
But the forum title is so misleading that when people do a search they will glimpse over it simply because it says it's to root the phone. However, only the second half of the instructions show you how to root it. So... here's instructions on how to do it.
1. Download the stock rom.zip. (For some reason I can't post links so you'll have to find it here = ttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728766&highlight=stock+rom
2. Rename rom.zip to PC36IMG.zip
3. Copy it on the root of your sdcard
4. Power Down or Turn off Phone - (Not Reboot)
5. Hold down Power and Volume Down (Let go when you see white screen)
6. Wait for HBOOT to scan for PC36IMG.zip
7. It will ask for you to accept after scanning - press volume up for yes
8. After finishing - it will ask to reboot - volume up for yes
9. You're done (Stock Unrooted)
Also, yes there is the RUU exe way and if that works for you, great! but there's a lot of people having trouble doing that and if you're here reading this you're probably one of them.
This was in a post by volcomjerk that commented on another post so thank them...
Hey guys. My apologies if this has already been asked, but I have a question about rooting/unrooting.
I saw the Guide in the General Info section and wanted to know if I root, is there a way for me to get back to my current configuration instead of going all the way back to the Stock ROM?
Thanks
Sorry posted this in the forum by accident. Please delete. Meant to post in the Q&A thread...
So I'm very new to the mod scene. Have been able to understand a few things. I really can't find any thing regarding CWM as far as tutorials go. I did a search but didn't really find what I was looking for. I understand it's for flashing without a need of a computer.
I did a full backup, I guess it's called a nandbackup. Since I updated to EB13, could I easily revert back to my D18 backup without any hitches? This is the part that is confusing me. Am I able to flash roms from different builds etc, or is there a step I am missing? Is there any tutorials that explain all of this? Thanks for your help! I appreciate it!
I read the how to root thread in this formum to grab the files I need to root the ATT GS3.
I have rooted plenty of phones and familiar with the process.
The image file that the thread lists for ATT GS3 is ATT Stock Download I747UCALG1.
The detail in the phone settings show that the build on my phone is I747UCLEM.
Is this file going to brick my phone, or is there something else I should be downloading or another method to root I can use?
Thanks
