The HTC Desire HD has a cool feature called Connected Media and it works really well on the IncredibleDoes ROM, does anyone think it is possible to port only this feature over to any sense ROM? Maybe it would require the whole music player I dont know. What does everyone think?

I really want that too. I flashed that ROM onto my inc and it worked really nice.
I have it installed on my uber z rom already. Only problem I ain't got a device that I can connect it to so I have no idea if it works or not. It does try to find devices and does not fc fwiw
By itself it does nothing. Its more or less a shortcut. The dlna is built into the framework and the music app. It would be difficult to port without porting the whole music app.

I'm running CM6 RC1 and when I try to open a wav file (sent to me through Cisco Unity Messaging and gmail), the music application pops up and says:
"sorry the player does not support this type of audio file"
Is this a 2.2 bug or a CM6 bug ??? Can someone check the OTA 2.2...
Get remote wave yea its a paid app but it works .wav isn't popular amoung phones I think... BTW its never been supported as far as I know

why bump? you were given a sufficiant answer. Try a few of the other free media players.
not a solution but I can confirm 2.1 played ULaw encoded wav files with the native media player and now 2.2 does not, so the codec seems to have been dropped in the upgrade.
I've never had any of my Android phones play wav files. If I get vmails in my email, and try to check, they always say unsupported. Didn't work on previous phones before my evo, and has never worked on my evo, 2.1 or 2.2

Just wanted to chime in that I've never had this problem with my Hero phone on 1.5 or 2.1 or with the Fresh ROM. Now, I know this only partially applies here, but since CM6 works as well on an Evo as it does with a Hero phone, if the bug is fixed in one, it should be fixed in the other too.
I know wav files play on the incredible 2.1
It's the way the WAV file is being encoded. Area you able to configure your messaging server to use PCM or another Android-friendly format? We've had to make an easy adjustment here on our corporate exchange server so the execs who are testing the Evo can listen to their voicemail.
star this and it might get some attention

Hi everyone
I'm quite fond of the HTC music app you get on Sense ROM'S because it has Dolby Mobile mode on it.
I also want to use Cyanogen so theres a bit of a problem there as the normal music app as I believe does not feature Dolby.
So is it possible that I take the HTC Music APK and transfer it onto Cyanogenmod? Would it work? Also, how would I go about doing it? Is it just a simple drag and drop and then install operation?
HTC apps won't work on a non-sense rom. The apps need the framwork etc. from sense roms.
Aaah daymmmm...
Thanks mate for replying
Hi guys,
I was thinking about, why the hell the music player from Sense 3.0 has problems with the SRS feature.
I love the new player, but without the SRS feature, it's not worth using it. Does anyone know why it is like that and if the stock rom has the same problems?
I mean, even the Dolby Digital feature is gone and the Desire HD has the brand on it. Could it just be a bug in the Custom Roms? When I install a fix.zip which install the old player, SRS works again.
Maybe the path to the features in sense 3.0 is a different one. I would appreciate if someone has a solution for this, because one of the most apps I'm using is the music player.
I wonder, why no one is complaining about that.
By the way, I hope you understand what I mean, I'm not used to write such development things in English
Because the dhd is not mcant to have sense3.
I assume the sense 3 phones (sensation) dont support dolby. Therefore it will not work on dhd without an official updcte from htc (vey doubtful).

Sense 3.0 music with SRS and Dolby

This should work on all Sense3 ROMs. I have tested this on VU, Honey3D and RCMix3D.. and it works perfectly on all..
Gives you sense3 player with SRS and Dolby, as well as Video Player & Streaming Player with SRS and Dolby..
Edit: and that is a reason why no one is complaining..
Hi all
First thanks for all you do everydays
I'd like to know if someone knows how to change default music app in HTC Car Home. Indeed, i'd like to use Google Music but I can't change :/
Is there a mod or some change possible ?
Thanks a lot
Nobody's to help me ? Roooh so sad :/
I'm also really interested to see if someone can mod HTC Car in sense 4.0 to allow choice of music app (or just swap sense music app with Google Music). Any clever devs out there I can buy a beer?
Yes, me too. I just got my HTC One X and I only use Google Music and would really want to modify the Music in Car mode (useless in it's current form!)

Title says it all, is it even possible to port over a Xperia Rom to our phone, or any phone for that matter?
I've recently came across numerous Xperia mods for ICS - Music, Gallery etc. Even a sweet audio mod, by far the best one I've used. Yeah, I'm an audiophile freak I love music.
So when I found out about these mods, I had to test them all! To say the least they work, unfortunately I get stuck with an equalizer that doesn't work properly but enables full access to the audio mod. I've heard it, its amazing.
So what I'm asking, because I believe it would be easier for me an audio freak to use these. Is it possible to even have a port to our phone?
