cant get my phone back up online
please help!!!

I'm not sure what you mean??? Have you flashed an android NBH (kernel) to your phone or are you trying android from sd card using haret? If you have already flashed an android nbh then doing a hard reset won't work because windows isn't in NAND anymore so there is nothing to restore. You will need to get a windows mobile nbh from the windows mobile section of the forum and put it on the root of your sd card and rename it to KAISIMG.NBH. You then need to hold down the camera button and power button together and the phone should turn on and go to the tri-colour screen where it will ask you if you want to flash your phone, press the power button and when it says it is complete reset the phone using your stylus. In terms of your problems getting into the install screen so you can install android, have you tried holding down the centre button on the dpad, or once the writing has started scrolling hold down the centre of the touchscreen should also work.

hey thanks for replay i worked from this menu :
#1 Does your Kaiser already have HardSPL? If not then get that done. Recommended to install 3.34 HardSPL.
#2 Does your Kaiser have a relatively new radio rom? If not then get one. Recommended to have 1.70.xx.xx and up.
#3 You don't need to SIM unlock you Kaiser, but it's a nice and easy precaution. Download KaiserUnlocker.exe to unlock your SIM. If you've already flashed your phone with Android, you'll need to flash back Windows Mobile 6.1. Go to the end of this post and it'll explain how to flash back to Windows Mobile. Bellow, you can see how easy the application works. Make sure your Kaiser is synced with your PC and follow steps 1 through 3. This means Windows Mobile Device Center, if you don't already have it. You should already have HardSPL from step #1, but this is an easier method to get it if you haven't done it yet, and you can always upgrade to 3.34 later, as this installer installs 3.29.
#4 Install a Android kernel. You can get the latest kernel from Dzo's site. Only download the newest Kaisimg file and choose the .nbh file that fits you. For example, "panel2" is for Kaiser owners with type 2 LCD screen, and 320 is if you want 240X320 resolution. Alternatively, you can download a kernel from kallt_kaffe, as he can make some changes which might not immediately show up on DZO's site.
You'll need to edit the NBH file using Loser's NBH Editor. The tool is very simple to use. Change resolution to the desired resolution you want, HW3D to the type of Android build you're using, Panel Type to the type of LCD screen you have, and finally keyboard type to the keyboard language you use. If you need more information on what panel type is, go to this link. The older and more complicated method to edit the NBH file can be found at the very bottom of this post.
#5 When you're done editing the .nbh, save it and rename it to KAISimg.nbh and place it on you memory card. You may want to put the KAISDIAG.NBH, but I've found it not necessary.
#6 Place the SD into your Kaiser and hold the Power button and camera button down, then take your stylus and hit the reset button. Follow the instructions on the screen to flash your Kaiser. When flashing is done, reset the device with your stylus. Make sure you see the confirmation that it is done.
!!WARNING ALL DATA ON YOUR PHONE WILL BE LOST!!
If the above method doesn't work, you can try this suggestion below.

#7 Download your favorite Android build. I use Incubus26Jc's Super Eclair, but you can use anyone you want. Only Donut builds like Myn's Warm Donut has everything working 100% on the Kaiser. Eclair builds are currently missing Camera and BT audio.
#8 On your SD card make a folder called andboot and place the androidinstall.tar file in there. It could also be called androidinstall.tgz. You may have to change settings in Windows to see extensions.
#9 Place the SD card in your phone and power on your Kaiser. When you see text on your screen hold down the D-pad. D-pad is that button in the center of your up, down, left, right buttons. Keep holding down the D-pad until you see something like this appear on your screen.
#10 Select sys on NAND, then data on NAND. Once done then select Install system and wait for it to finish. Once it's done select quit and it'll begin booting into Android.
right now i tryed to flash back to windows mobile with KAISIMG.NBH KAISDIAG.NBH
in sd card but the kaiser is restarting every 5 sec
damn i think i lost my phone

Have you got into the tri-colour screen yet? If not then pull your battery out and put it back in. Hold down the camera button while you press the power button and this should take you to the tri-colour screen which will detect the KAISIMG.NBH on the root of your sdcard. If you do not go to the tri-colour screen you have either not pressed both buttons simultaneously (i.e. pressed power before camera) or you have a hardware failure. Nothing that you have flashed will effect the tri-colour screen as this is hard coded onto the mainboard and cannot be overwritten.

Official Diamond ROM 2.03 update - HELP

Hey guys,
I have no idea what's going on. I appreciate your suggestions. I flashed my Diamond many times (and other phones as well) with most of the ROM available. Unit a month ago or so I've been using the official 1.93 ROM with previously installed hard SPL 1.40. When I attempted to install a new 2.03 ROM I went through the whole procedure same way as always with a little exception. Right after completion - 100% the unit reboots, shows the rainbow screen with a message "Upgrade ROM code error" - try again. What is the world is this? I also have a message on my desktop "Error 270-update error" - The image file is corrupted. My unit is european and I downloaded the ROM from both US and Euro sites. From this point I managed to downgrade again to version 1.93. Then I ran again the hard SPL 1.40 and reattempted to upgrade to 2.03 - SAME THING!
I don't know what to do next. Why I cannot flush it with the latest ROM? Any ideas or similar situations? Please see picture.
Thanks
Same Thing happened to me :S wtf??

Hi have you tried to flash from the internal storage?
Have you tried flashing with internal storage method?
Exactly the same problem here, so I tried to flash to a really old original HTC ROM after the failure and it flashed fine
So I thought I would try upgrading over the top of an original ROM, had the same error , bloody HTC
So, any ideas how to resolve this issue? Are we stuck with the old ROM? I'm glad that I'm not the only one experiencing the same problem.
No, I have never tried to flash from internal storage. How can this be done? do I copy the whole .exe file to storage and run from there? Any pre-cautions?
Thanks
Though I bricked my phone when it happened, never seen that error before despite many ROM flashes
I have now tried tommytaos ROM which is supposed to be very close to the original but some with some tweaks.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479049
It installed just fine on my phone. Seems HTC have broken their ROM

it's the best way to flash the rom and the safest...
From Suiller thread:
the standard procedure to cook a ROM is made trough activesync program, I mean that the .nbh file is pushed into the phone trough activesync, across the usb cable, but this procedure can give some troubles:
1. it takes long time, about 10 minutes
2. it's a bit unsafe (even if the procedure can be always restored safely)
3. it's possible only with Windows OS (NO Linux nor *BSD, et cetera...)
I don't know why this is not well known but ALL producers (like HTC) give the possibility to upgrade the rom/firmware without having MS windows (thanks GOD someone knows that there aren't only windows users).
This faster procedure can be done also with *nix variants (or whatever you use) because the ROM update is made directly by the phone.
The procedure is very simple, it will take just 2 minutes, can be done everywhere & is good for cooking radios too (very fast in this case)
-= COOKING ROMs & Radios from phone =-
1. open from your PC the rar or zip archive and extract only the BIG .nbh file
2. rename as DIAMIMG.NBH
3. copy the renamed file into the root dir of your "Storage Card" or "Internal Storage" (the one of 4Gb... NOT to the internal phone memory!)
4. reset your device and within 3 seconds push together the Vol_Down + Back button (the one on the right above the hangup button) and keep pressed until the boot loader appears (the one with the color stripes)
5. soon as you see the bootloader stop to press those poor buttons
6. a very simple gray menu will appear asking you what to do, simple press the power button to perform the ROM/Radio upgrade
7. while the upgrade runs be patient and don't press again the power button, reset the device or play with it until it finishes, when finished a message "UPDATE SUCCESS" will appear, now you can safely reset your device
8. who prefer can perform a hard reset after the fresh cook (soon after reset simply press Vol_Down + Circle button, then when you see another simple gray menu choose Vol_Up to confirm format), even if this has no-sense because internal memory is pre-formatted during flash, but... there is always a but... for some unknown "scientific" reason sometimes an hard-reset can save time & headache
notes:
* be sure to have at least 10/20% of charge, anyway the whole procedure will take about 2 minutes, so you must be ensure that your mobile will stay turned on for at least those 2 dirty minutes (just in case you can attach the power AC/DC too), don't panic if something goes wrong... read few lines below
* like told you above the same procedure is good for cooking Radio too, of course Radio are smaller and it will be really fast (about one minute!)
* you don't need windows anymore or activesync, is enough just to copy the file into the storage card (transfers WITHOUT activesync are faster)
* it's possible to make a reset simply by getting off the stylus and pressing the small red button under the stylus carrier
* don't worry if something goes wrong... any cook failure can be always restored, the important thing is that you don't fail hardspl flash... but you have to do it just one time in your life
special note about hard-spl:
if you have signed-only hard-spl I strongly suggest to upgrade to an un-signed one, personally I tested many & I can confirm that the "good ones", at least in my experience, are the Olinex 1.37 or 1.93, you can find a copy here
remember also that you can NOT brick your device if you have a good hard-spl (like the ones I mentioned above) & flashing directly from phone is really faster (also good for flashing radio)
so the only one thing you should take care is when you change/upgrade the hard-spl, but you have to do this step just once, I'm using this hard-spl from about 6 months & I was able to flash everything (plus dozen recovers for failed flash)
for rom/radio upgrades you can safely also reboot/remove cable/turn off your phone while flashing ...every lost flash can be always restored safely, it's enough to restart your device in boot mode & restart flashing, also with cable trough the classic RUU (to put device in boot mode simply reset & keep pressed Vol_Down button)
In the hope this procedure can be useful at least to save time
if you have the official rom which is a exe file you can extract the rom file using winrar.
EUREKA!!! Done Deal!!!
Flashed from Internal Storage as per following directions:

THANKS! THANKS! THANKS!
Flashing using the Internal Method is the safest and most convenient way to flash. Spread the word.......
xevier69, Thanks for your thread
Having just purchased Oli's security unlocker... I was annoyed about this problem with a HTC official rom!
But your method has solved this issue!
Thanks again
Thanks guys it works perfect!
This just happened to me too and the only roms i have ever flashed:
1.37 official spanish: came with the phone
1.37 official WWE
1.93 official WWE
and now 2.03 official WWE fails.
WTF... One would expect the upgrade not to fail, right?
I wonder if they are checking for HardSPL to be original too!?
Anyway thanks for the workaround
This worked for me to
Cheers

Thers some other option
Install twice from activesync 1st time = error, run for the second time the same version and OK it updates.
At least with my Diamond had worked

Hi!
The same thing happend to me too... I think it's because of the serial number we have entered when we have downloaded that 100 MB ROM Update file from the HTC support site... well i think it doesn't match with the serial and IMEI of the phone that the upgraded rom checks at the end of the update process... so i think it's kind of a protection against piracy developed by htc... taiwanese idiots!
Hi!
pls anyone send any information about an rom update file that works and doesn't report errors after it installed 100%. pls specify it's rom version too! 2.03 would be great
thanks in advance

HTC TP2 bricked? Freezes at Start up!

Please help!
My HTC TP2 freezes at start up with the black screen and the Touch Pro2 Logo and some details in red at the bottom:
B 80
R 4.49.25.17
G 61.44tc.25.32U
D 1.86.67102
No USB connection can be established.
What happened:
1. Tried to update from original WM 6.1 to WM 6.5 by using the official HTC ROM update utility. Seems like USB connection broke during update and update freezed at 42%. Update utility process has stopped by itself (no process visible anymore in the Task Manager).
2. Restarted phone and multicolor screen appeared and stayed. After connecting with USB cable again "USB" appeared at the bottom. Started again the HTC ROM update utility which recognized the phone and started the update process again, but stopped at the beginning with an error message stating something like the ROM is broken.
3. Restarted again (by removing the battery and hit power button) and state reached like described above (HTC TP2 freezes at start up with the black screen and the Touch Pro2 Logo and some details in red at the bottom).
4. Performed a hard reset but did not help.
What can I do to bring the phone back to life?
So you can't or can get in the colored screen now? (the boatloader)
And it's kind of normal that their nothing happens after the tp2 + red information screen, this since their is no rom to startup.
EDIT
Is it possible to tell exactly what error you got?
EDIT
Try to hard reset your device, do you know how to do this?
If not this is how to do it:
To perform a hard reset
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons until you see this message on the screen.
"This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel."
2. Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

This is just what worked for me..
Had the same issue on my tp...
Hope it will work for you.
Did already the hard reset - but this did not help as nothing changed!
One further info: whenever I insert the battery the device automatically starts up - until it freezes again at the start up.
Can someone please help?
It's normal that the device starts up when the battery is plugged in...
But this is just what I know out of my own experience.
So sorry I can't help you farther.
EDIT
Did some research you might want to try to flash your phone by micro sd... (not for sure if it helps but by some people it did work)
Read the tread about flashing at the top of the rhodium section and you know how to do it.
Did another trial: downloaded and copied a RHODIMG.nbh to the micro sd card, inserted it again and pressed volume up at startup -> colored screen appears shortly, then switches to a white screen telling "Loading..." in blue font color, but nothing more.
Is there anybody out there who can help?
Do I need a specific RHODIMG.nbh to make this approach working? I didn't flash this device before, so it has been still in the original manufacturer's state.

This may help,
Try entering bootloader by switching off device then switch back on holding down the Vol down key.
If you can enter bootloader this way then you wil be able to flash from SD card following the instructions from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540
if you want to flash the Official update from HTC you can extract the Nbh from the Exe file you downloaded from them, just use winzip, Zzip or Win RAR to extract the contents from the Exe you are looking for RUU_signed.nbh..follow the above thread instructions to change the name of the file to RHODIMG.nbh.
I DONT KNOW IF YOU NEED TO HARD SPL FOR THIS..Probably better to do it than not. Can Anyone Confirm???
i hope this helps
Device is up and running again !
Could enter bootloader mode and tried first to install again via the official HTC installer -> worked!
Thanks a lot for your support!
great news welldone Bro and welcome to the forum!!!

For future info, from what I have gathered you must hardSPl for all ROM flashes. If the ROM you flash is the stock ROM, you can also revert your SPL to stock. For any other ROM, you must leave your device hardSPL'd.
Hope I helped.
how were you able to connect the phone with the pc. i seem to have a similar problem but am finding it difficult to connect the phone to the pc. i have activesync installed but cannot connect to the phone

is it possible to connect to active sync in bootloader, cos my phone cannot even boot, it freezes up with a white screen and htc logo.
After entering bootloader you can flash either way, either by ruu package provided by your ROM's maker or running official ruu release or if you have the renamed file on the root of your sd card....I never use sd card flashing and have never had a failed flash...If in bootloader it will not connect with activesync, but device should be recognized by ruu.exe

Bricked my phone while flashing NAND, possibly reversable. Need some help :)

Hey, xda-devs.
I need a bit of help. I was trying to flash Eclair 2.1 Polymod to NAND on my AT&T Tilt on T-Mobile's USA network. I was previously using Dutty's Diamond v1 and Myn's Warm Donut from haret.exe
Unfortunately, I was kind of stupid while flashing - I decided I was going to flash KAISIMG.nbh *before* I actually put the /andboot folder on there. (This was due to a lack of research on my part because I only looked at one how-to which omitted the /andboot step.)
"Well that's fine," I thought, "I'll just put the /andboot on there with the polymod inside and re-flash KAISIMG.nbh!" I did this, and it's still not working... which doesn't make alot of sense to me. My KAISIMG.nbh has no issue flashing, but when I restart the phone I get stuck at the first HTC splash with the planet & whatever.
I've tried multiple panels for the KAISIMG.nbh, I made sure nothing else was on the SD card, and I even tried a hard reset of my phone, still to no avail.
So tell me, xda-devs. Did I brick my phone? I don't think I did because it actually powers on and all that jazz, it just won't load the android install program.
dont think it is bricked
if you can get into the 3 colored bootloader screen it is not bricked. just flash wince rom and you should be able to use your phone again.
if you flashed an android nbh you should get the linux logo and see bunch of text scroll over your screen. it you hit the dpad you should get into the installer menu.
Maybe you didn't actually flash the nbh?
did you get into the tri colored bootloader screen and then did you hit power when prompted?
the android kaiser nbh normally doesn't have a splash screen, so your old wince splashscreen will remain.
hope this help, more details from your part would help us help you.
Hey, thanks for replying
Yes, I get the tri-color screen but I'm not getting the linux logo or anything of the sort. I'm getting the old splash screen that came with the phone. When I passed the tri-colored screen I get the prompt to press the power button, then it flashes KAISIMG.nbh, (Although it says something like "File - KAISIMG.nbh" and "OS - " then nothing after OS... dunno if that helps)
But I'm glad to know I didn't brick it!
I experimented with various KAISIMG.nbh files found here. I believe those are Android KAISIMGs although I don't know since I can't read them with my text editor.
It could be the problem I have once in a while on my Kaiser. Try removing the battery and hold down the power button. Put the battery back in and turn on your kaiser. You should start seeing the scrolling text.
As far as I know that's normal. Happens once in a while.

Negative, no change... How long should I hold it down?
You're holding down the button to release any power left in your phone. Sometimes, it can be a hit or a miss.
If all else fails, invoke the loader by holding down power button + camera button, and then press the reset button with the stylus. Do this quickly when you turn on your phone, and you can problem load WM back onto your phone.
I think Android needs a custom HardSPl on Kaiser.
As far as the old splash screen is concerned, thats normal, flashing the nbh does not replace the splash screen, after flashing the nbh you usually have to pull the battery, wait a bit, then restart the phone, it takes a little time before the linux kernel boots the lcd panel, so at first it shows the splash screen for some time.
The screen will go weird briefly, followed by the scrolling text as linux kernel boots, watch for the 'hold dpad to enter installer' line, then press dpad centre button.
Don't worry about the need for a 'custom' HSPL, the hard-spl most of us use seems to work fine for majority of users, also although radio 1.71.09.01 is recommended, android will work fine with earlier radios, some even say it works better with some earlier radios, ( can't confirm this, since I seem to have no problems with anything radio related).
If you need to reflash WM, you can do this either using the bootloader in usb mode, or by putting a WM rom in SD renamed to kaisimg.nbh and flash by doing the power+camera method.

Yeah, that's the problem - I've flashed the .nbh, then taken the battery out for 10+minutes (including the method mentioned above of draining the power) but the screen never changes from the first splash page. I never get the scrolling text.
EDIT: I have a theory that maybe I should try the Panel 1 kaisimg.nbh instead of Panel 2 but since I don't have a computer that has a micro-SD slot it's a pain in the ass getting files on/off of there so I'll have to try it later. I'm also going to try with another built (Probably Myn's) to see if that works.
I got myself a cheap sd card reader and microsd adapter, makes life so much easier, however if you don't have access to one at the moment, just remove any sd in the phone, disable activesync, put the phone in bootloader, connect to usb cable, flash a WM rom, ( try a Stock HTC one from the wiki pages, this wipes everything, os,bootsplash, radio and gets rid of any traces of any custom roms).
And try running from SD to identify your panel type, etc, saves some time when flashing nand if you don't have to guess

How to replace Windows Mobile with Android (Guide)

*Updated November 6th 2010*
Installing Android into Kaiser NAND for dummies.
Everything in this guide is pieced together from various threads in the Kaiser forum.
!!WARNING THIS WILL ERASE DATA ON YOUR PHONE!!
Please, make sure your SIM card is unlocked by entering Personal Unblocking Key (PUK)!!
This must be done permanently, as Android currently cannot handle a locked SIM.#1 Does your Kaiser already have HardSPL?

#4 Install a Android kernel. l1q1d's kernel can be downloaded from this location. Dzo's kernel is too old for newer Android roms, as well as kallt_kaffe's. Only download the newest Kaisimg file and choose the .nbh file that fits you. For example, "panel2" is for Kaiser owners with type 2 LCD screen, and 320 is if you want 240X320 resolution.
You'll need to edit the NBH file using atools. A detailed step by step guide on how to use it can be found here.
#5 When you're done editing the .nbh, save it and rename it to KAISimg.nbh (if it isn't already called that), and place it on you memory card.

If you are experienced at flashing Winmo using KaiserCustomRuu,exe through activesync, then you can do the same with the KAISimg.nbh, just rename it to RUU_Signed.nbh and copy it to a folder on the pc along with Kaisercustomruu.exe, flash as you would with winmo.

#7 Download your favorite Android build. I use Incubus26Jc's Super Froyo, but you can use anyone you want. Make sure to pay attention to what Android build you're about to install. If you decided on a Froyo based build, then make sure the kernel is setup for Froyo, otherwise you'll have to go back and edit the kernel again with atools, and then reflash it.
Installing Applications Onto SD Card using Ext2#11 This is an additional step if you want applications installed onto your SD card. By choosing data on NAND, you're limited on how many applications you can store on your phone.
The easiest method is to choose data on ext2 data.img at step #10, which uses your Fat partition on the SD Card. It's the easiest, but you can't mount your SD card through your phones USB, or remove it. Removing the SD card will freeze the phone and you'll need to reset with the SD card back in.
Alternatively, you can partition you SD card and still mount the SD card through USB, but you can't remove the SD card still. I have found THIS YOUTUBE VIDEO which explains in detail on how to easily format your SD card for this. You can use a card reader to do the same thing, or a microSD to USB adapter. You don't have to use your phone for the videos Step 4:. You can also make your own size for partitions. I made a [7GB Fat32][64MB ext2][512MB ext2], though you can choose to do [7GB Fat32][512MB ext2][512MB ext2] or any larger combinations you want. BTW, the second smaller ext2 partition is used for swap file, but you probably don't need it. I just have it there for just in case.
Like this, but the video explains how to make a 3rd ext2 partition. As you can see, this is a picture of someone using a 2GB SD card.
You'll have to burn this iso image of gparted, and boot your PC from it.
Format like this, from left to right. Must be from left to right.
[Fat32][Ext2][Ext2]
#12 Once that's done, and assuming the andboot folder is still intact, you can go back to step #10, but instead of data on NAND you choose data on ext2 data.img, or data on SD card. Depending on what you decided to do.
**NOTES**
Some Android builds require you to flash a androidupdate file to fix certain problems, like Wifi. Place this file into your andboot folder on your SD and hold the D-pad down to get the menu, like you did to install Android. Select Install Update and after that's done then select Fix Permissions. Always gotta fix permissions when installing updates.
The kernel can be flashed without destroying your Android installation, if there's an updated kernel in the future. If you have any strange issues, like not being able to connect to wifi or select a ringtone, then shutdown your phone and pull the battery out. Hold the power button to release any remaining power for 30 seconds and place the battery back in and power on the Kaiser. You'll be surprised how often this can fix problems.
Also, here's a method on how to mount your SD card, if you're having trouble.

To mount the card, reboot the phone, select recovery mode, plug in the phone and press enter and exit. It will boot normally and when it finish booting, the card will be mounted

Switching Back To Windows Mobile
Switching back is very easy. All you gotta do is download your favorite WinMO rom, and rename RUU_Signed.nbh to KAISimg.nbh and place it on your SD card along with KAISDIAG.NBH.
Place the SD into your Kaiser and hold the Power button and camera button down, then take your stylus and hit the reset button. Follow the instructions on the screen to flash your Kaiser. When the flashing is done you should be back to running Windows Mobile.
Old Method To Edit NBH
To hex edit the NBH, open the .nbh file with iHex and scroll down till you see this.
It's numbered so look on the left side until you see 1350. Then look on the right for these phrases. They'll look like run on sentences, that's normal.
hw3d.version=1 <== 1 for Eclair and 0 for Donut based Android builds
board-kaiser-keypad.atttilt=2 <== Follow the table bellow for keyboard layout.
board-kaiser-keypad.atttilt=0 normal
board-kaiser-keypad.atttilt=1 AT&T tilt
board-kaiser-keypad.atttilt=2 Nordic (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish)
board-kaiser-keypad.atttilt=3 azerty (French)
board-kaiser-keypad.atttilt=4 qwertz (German)
board-htckaiser.panel_type=1 <== Change this to 1,2, or 3. If your screen looks messed up, then change it to another value. I think for most Kaiser users it's 2. If you're not sure why you're doing this, then follow this link for an explanation from zenity.
Nice Guide I will use this when i recieve me kaiser as a test phone thanks to techjeep
Nice, you're getting a Kaiser.
Reversing
This is great. Thanks! Could you also post a guide for switching back to windows mobile from Android?
I can't seem to get past step 5. I'm holding down Power and Camera at the same time and then briefly pressing the reset button. All it does it goes to the bootloader screen and then resets. Any suggestions? Its probably something simple...

Make sure your SD card is formatted FAT32, and that the NBH file is named KAISimg.nbh, and that it is on SD root, not in a folder.
I added zenity's suggestion, as well as a way to revert back to Windows Mobile. Also, if holding the power + camera and then tapping the reset button doesn't work, it could be based on your HardSPL, though I'm not sure. A lot of people use HardSPL 3.34, since it's recommended for most Windows Mobile roms. With most guides, when you first install HardSPL onto your Kaiser it'll be HardSPL 2.29, and I think you don't use the camera button. So it'll be hold power + tap reset button. Again, I'm not sure.
As far as the 'power+camera+reset' is concerned, I still use the 'pull battery, reinsert, press power+camera' routine that was the only way to reflash in the earlier days of android nand flashing, and has never failed me yet, ( apart from a period of flash fails due to an sd card problem ). Both should work, however more options are always good
#5 Place the SD into your Kaiser and hold the Power button and camera button down, then take your stylus and hit the reset button.
When should you do that, after how many seconds? I'm trying it but it works maybe after 20-30 times.

Technically, you can do it at any point the phone is running. If you're confused, you can just hold the power + camera button when the phone is off. You continue holding it until you see the multicolored bars appear on your screen.
Btw, you never hold the reset button, just press it once, if you choose to do it when the phone is on.
Do me a favor and please tell me what HardSPL you're using?
Thanks for the guide, this looks like it'll do me some good. I'll give this a shot with either polymod or Myn's very soon
Could anyone tell me if battery life will be improved by running NAND instead of HaRET? Poor battery life on both the most popular builds has been the reason I have not gone NAND yet, as I'm often away from a power source most of the day and can't charge my phone all day. WinMo has understandably longer battery life, and I know NAND will help a little but I would like it to help more than just a little, lol. Any opinions/advice?
It does drain a lot less power in NAND. For me, it drains about 33% of battery over night. Still no where near as good as WinMO, which used to drain about 3-4% over night.
Awesome... I'm not looking for it to be identical to WinMo, just better than what it is off HaRET, haha.
I'll give it a try with Polymod first. I'd do Myn since it's faster, but I like Eclair more than Donut enough to not care, lol.
EDIT: This may be a stupid question but how do I know if I have HardSPL?
EDIT #2: Never mind, I fixed my own noob problems
Got it working, great guide, very easy to follow, thanks!

3.34 (see signiature).
can't get there from here
I'm getting tripped up on Step 5. after holding PWR + CAM and pressing the stylus reset, the phone displays the tricolor screen (actually quad-color...the bottom quarter is white & says 'Serial'). the screen then briefly flashes white with blue text reading 'LOADING...No image file!' then returns to the tricolor screen.
the text on the tricolor screen reads:
KAIS1*0
SPL-3.29.Hard
CPLD-8
my radio is 1.70.18.02. I've edited the .nbh file appropriately and placed it SD's root. (the SD is FAT32). is it possible that the phone is looking elsewhere for the .nbh?
also, I've unsuccessfully tried flashing via ActiveSync as well. is there a particular flavor Kaisercustomruu.exe needed for this? when using either ROMUpdateUtility.exe or the Kaisercustomruu.exe from my existing ROM (TPC_MEGA_V11) I get "Error 244: Invalid Model ID" SqtL-KBKV5/67-S-VPIX556. this error appears at the 33% completion stage using either RUU.
I apologize in advance for the lengthy post for what should be a fairly straightforward operation.

Read the manual, you need to rename the NBH.
Like Robouser007 said, make sure the kernel is renamed to KAISimg.nbh. Also, place the KAISDIAG.NBH file in the sd card as well. These files shouldn't be in any folders either, just sitting in the SD card.
Go back to step #4 to get the KAISDIAG.NBH.
thanks, robuser007. per the manual, I'd placed KAISimg.nbh on SD root and that same file renamed RUU_signed.nbh in PCs ROM directory for the ActiveSync-based approach.
I got the WinMo flash method to work.
thanks, Dukenukemx, for pulling this together - good stuff!

Help: Kaiser can't flash NBH anymore!

Following the instrcutions tp flash back to WM:rename RUU_Signed.nbh to KAISimg.nbh and place it on your SD card along with KAISDIAG.NBH. Place the SD into your Kaiser and hold the Power button and camera button down, then take your stylus and hit the reset button.", after I pressed the power button again, tri-color screen changed to a whie screen with "Loading..." showing. There was no progress bar below as usual. After about 5 minutes, I reset it, Kaiser runs android system well: I can even install a new anroid system. Just can't flash any NBH file, even Android small NBH file. Tried with a newly formarted fat32 card also. It always stop at "Loading.. " screen.
Anyboby can help me?

I have never used the stylus reset to flash nbh. (good thing too because I broke it long before switching to android)
just holding the camera button while powering on gets me to the tri-color and then a white screen telling to press power button again to flash.
2nd
I have had freeze-ups on that screen while "loading" and it is usually because of a bad/corrupt nbh file or not making sure all caps in file name KAISIMG.NBH
just a thought...

Tried with KAISIMG.NBH, nothing different!
Anyway, Thanks!
Try clearing everything on the sdcard and leaving only the KAISIMG.nbh and remove the diag file too.
You should have one file (KAISIMG.nbh) on your sd.
NOTE: If the phone is off you only need to hold the camera and press the power button. If the phone is on just hold the camera and press the reset button. There's no need to hold the reset AND power button.
Since you can access the bootloader there is another way to flash, by USB.
You will need to do a little preparation.
If using XP disable Activesync by going to connection settings and uncheck 'Allow USB Connection'.
Then make a temporary folder somewhere handy, I usually use c:\flashtmp, but anything is good.
In this folder goes KaiserCustomRUU.exe, and the NBH renamed to RUU_Signed.NBH.
Once you have all this, put kaiser in Bootloader, it should say Serial at the bottom, attach the USB Lead, and wait until it say USB at the bottom, then run KaiserCustomRUU.exe and follow the instructions.
You should be able to flash Radio, splash, or OS with this method.
i usually do it the way zenity describes...its easier for me to keep up with all of my nbh
the few times i did it from SD i DID NOT have kaisdiag.nbh...other threads said it was unnecessary, so maybe its even bad
btw everyone i found that KaiserCustomRUU.exe will take a nbh named anything as long as its the only one in the DIR. found this by forget full accident
One thing zenity forgot to mention was that you need to remove kaisimg.nbh from your sd before putting into bootloader. Or just remove your sd

you can techically leave it there. in spl there is the option to not load the .nbh...after selecting that you can plug in USB like normal
Ah yes, I did forget the removal of the SD card, it may not be necessary in this case, but generally it's a better practice, saves confusion.
Didn't know about customRUU accepting any NBH though, always good to learn things
Regarding KAISdiag, I have never used it, so leaving it out is safe, in fact I'd only use it as a last resort for bad flashes or problems that require it.

I noticed that my SPL is SPL-3.34.0000, instead of SPL-3.34.0000. May it is beacause I flashed stock rom befored. How can I flash Hardspl in android system. I don't know how to copy jumpspl.exe to kaiser in android system.
You should be able to flash a stock winmo rom using the above method, since stock does not need HardSPL.

I downloaded the stock rom for my kaiser, and finally I flash back to WM following your instruction. Before, I tried a wrong stock rom.
By the way, the battery problem has been solved for Android system? I have 2 pcs of battery.
