I've been following OMX and ics-deck-inc and I'm wondering which people think is better.
EDIT: Since I posted this, the Evervolv ICS ROM (posted on Twitter only) has gained popularity. It was the first to bring partial camera support, and although ics-deck has since added it, it seems most new features show up in Evervolv first. OMX is also fading away into obscurity.
These are my impressions based on the comments...
ics-deck-inc has been updated more recently (12/25), while development on OMX seems to be at a standstill (going on almost a month). I'm assuming the OMX standstill was related to the holidays though, since before that it was being updated very often.
EDIT: ics-deck-inc is now up to Alpha 5 as of this edit, while OMX is still at a standstill. It seems from this post that there is only 1 person working on OMX
OMX seems to be more further along, but maybe it's an illusion due to the fact that OMX has a much more detailed change log and explains the updates much more clearly (i.e. ics-deck-inc seems to be in "aplha1" still even through I know there have been a few updates)

I see a lot of talk in the comments for ics-deck-inc about having to install Ext4 and Incredikernel, which adds more work for me and a higher chance of messing something up. I don't know about Ext4, but OMX already includes Incredikernel at least (although neither of them explain why I need Ext4 or Incredikernel).

EDIT: It's actually a lot simpler than that calendar fix... you just need to do this and all is well. There's also a fix for exchange calendar sync issues posted a little later in this thread
ics-deck-inc lists Wimax as something that's broken, but since when does the Incredible have Wimax anyway? Anyone know what the deal is with that?
EDIT: It seems this is there because the developer makes ROMs for other devices as well. Inc uses can just ignore it
So most of the above comments are obsolete at this point, but you can still feel free to use this thread to discuss changes and such. There is a separate feedback thread somewhere, but (a) that's just for deck, and (b) this is more about discussion than feedback.

I've only used OMX. I got hooked on it, but unfortunately just flashed back to CM7.1 today. In OMX, calendar does not sync with google. Wifi tethering works. Cam no work. Can't use phone as external storage when connect to computer. Also, the ring tones and volume controls are all messed up: phone never rang, just vibrates. When playing pandora, sound is very low, even at max setting. Headphones are not recognized. When I connected to bluetooth in the car, i could make a call and talk over the bluetooth, but pandora or other media would not play through bluetooth.
Unfortunately it sounds like OMX will not be getting another update any time soon. And CM9 is probably still another several months away for INC, if they release it at all. So....looks like i'm stuck with stupid CM7.1 (or maybe MIUI) until i get my tegra3 ice cream phone!
I have been running ics-deck-inc since yesterday morning and here are some things I can tell you:
-Well, first off ics-deck-inc got updated a couple of days ago with loads of fixes including the camera. There are still some strange issues with the camera, but hey, it works.
-As far as incredikernel, ics-deck-inc already has it in the ROM. Therefore you don't have to flash it. There is a new incredikernel from 1/2/2012, while the one in the ROM is from December. Flash the new one if you want, but you don't have to.
-My calendar has worked without issue since I installed it. I think the issue is that calendars from Exchange and such don't sync with it.
-I think the Wimax thing is for another phone and not the incredible.
-Bluetooth works great. Syncs up with my head unit in my truck just fine. Pandora over bluetooth works great as well. The only thing is I can't get the metadata to stream to my head unit.

Well, I'll put my own experiences in now that a couple people have replied...
A couple days after posing the question, CyanogenMod decided to stop working for me (as others have noted that it tends to do after a period of time) so I decided to give some of these ICS ROMs a try since I was going to have to reflash anyway
I started with the Evervolv 2.1.0 Preview3 build posted on twitter so far [twitter.com]) because it was the first one to have camera support, which was one of the things keeping me from making the jump in the first place. The Evervolv build worked great for me. There was the occasional force close, but that is to be expected.
Then ics-deck-inc was updated to Alpha 4 yesterday to include, among other things camera support. I decided to move to deck since many people had noted that it was a bit better all-around than Evervolv. And now that it had camera support, there was no reason not to switch.
A few notes:
As awesomeo3000 pointed out, incredikernel is included. It's not the most up-to-date, but nobody has given any compelling reasons that you absolutely need the latest. (this was the case with Evervolv and OMX also)
I haven't really noticed a significant difference in battery life over my other ROMs, but that is probably because I am pretty much always around a charger so I don't really notice.
ics-deck comes with the Trebuchet (CM9) launcher, which is essentially stock ICS with some enhancements. It allows things like changing the # of homescreens, resizing any widget (stock only allows some), and other tweaks that are very useful but at the same time won't bother anyone who wants pure stock. Unfortunately, there seems to be two significant bugs in the app drawer in both the stock launcher and Trebuchet: (1) often times the next page of apps or widgets will show up in the background before you even attempt to switch pages, and (2) the launcher force closes very often when paging though the widgets. To alleviate that, I have switched to Nova Launcher which, like Trebuchet, is based on the stock ICS launcher but offers many helpful tweaks. I I still have had the occasional force close related to selecting widgets, but Nova also restores the long-press on the homescreen for widgets functionality, which can be used as another option if you experience force closes.
There are some small bugs that I have noticed here and there (like this one), but nothing really major, other than the well-known issues like calendar syncing and usb-host (see below). I also haven't yet tested a lot of things, like bluetooth for one.
My calendar syncing issues were solved by doing this: link. There was no need to replace the calender apps or anything like that. I can't speak for the Exchange Calendar syncing though. I can say that I was able to get an Exchange email account to work fine, but I don't use the calendar for that account.
As many people in the forums note, the multi-mount widget in the Android Market can be used to get usb-host support. Hopefully something will be built into the ROM in the future, but for now this should work. Alternatively, you can try what I use, the Samba Filesharing app. It's not as fast as USB, but wireless has it's own convenience advantages.
These are just some things I have noticed. There are some great features in ics-deck that I haven't even listed, and also some minor bugs. Alpha 5 is out now, only one day after Alpha 4, and I am excited to give it a try. I have to say that at this point I think they could drop the "Alpha." I think it could at the very least be considered "Beta" but that is just my opinion.
The important thing is this, anyone who is still using CM7 or any other ROM because they are waiting for an ICS ROM that is reasonably stable to use as a daily driver, I think ics-deck-inc has reached that point.

Does MMS work? how partially working is the camera? can u at least take pictures and video
Evervolv has a build going as well, and they have 8 MP camera functional as well as USB mass storage. I'm going to try it now to see how it works.

Yup, I mentioned Evervolv's ROMs. I can definitely say the 8MP camera is working (video and panorama modes still aren't). I haven't tested out USB storage yet but they swear it works.
Right now Evervolv is my favorite, but they seem to go back and forth (hence both in my signature). Best to keep an eye on both (I've given up on OMX, big time)
EDIT: I have now also added Evervolv to the title of the thread.
I've tried both ICS deck and Evervolv, but neither display my exchange calendar in the calendar app, which is a showstopper for me. Unfortunate, as I likes me some sammich. Exchange syncs fine, and sync settings claims the calendar is up to date, but the calendar app says "no calendars" for the exchange account. Anyone had any luck with this or have a workaround that you like?
Exchange calendar issue fixed in Evervolv by flashing the zip from from this tweet.
There is a fix for the exchange.apk with the evervolv ics rom peview 5. I have it posted in rootzwiki. i had someone try it out and they confirmed it did work. Just look for post by apophis9283 in rootzwiki
Actually no need to install ext4 on any of them. Its not required.

Note that the exchange fix isn't needed for Preview 6 anymore, they apparently baked it in. Installed P6, latest gapps and ext4 mod from a full wipe and all is well.

Does this one have panoramic for the camera? its probably the only thing keeping me from using any ICS at the moment (I could care less about video.. I think I've taken 4 in since I had the phone.. and I got it day 1)
Not sure, i went back to cm7 atm only because certain apps fc with ics
I couldnt stay away from the ics goodiness. Went back to evervolv preview 6. Hope these devs get these market apps compatible with ics soon
I loved Evervolv p5 but it still felt unfinished to me. Didn't have any FCs but after running MIUI for so long, I was missing the customization options. I'll probably be back soon though...

*** If you're going from a stock rom to an AOSP rom, read this ***
When you flash an AOSP rom it creates a folder marked 0 on your sdcard, and once it's created, you will ONLY be able to access files in the 0 folder, whether in the rom itself or in recovery. Here's a workaround.
1) Flash back to a stock based rom (If you haven't flashed an AOSP ROM yet you're already here)
2) Using a file explorer (and making sure "show hidden files" is checked) create a folder called 0 in the root of your sdcard if there isn't one there already. Cut and paste everything else in the root of your sdcard into that folder (the one called 0). You can copy and paste if you want but it'll be slower and you'll double the amount of space you're using.
3) Go ahead and reboot into recovery. Do a backup of your current setup and then install your new ROM
4) Everything should be where you expect it to be. If you choose to go back to a stock rom, you'll just have to flash the rom, cut everything out of the 0 folder and into the root of your sdcard, and then make sure you delete the 0 folder once it's empty so that TWRP can see everything it needs to.

I thought it'd be nice to have a central place to see what's what when it comes to sprint Optimus G roms. At first I did this to sort of keep my thoughts straight on the various available roms, but then I thought hey why not share with the community. Also we're coming up on finals week and I have a very special type of procrastination in which I clean, organize, make threads, or otherwise do anything remotely productive that is NOT related to studying. Also also, my intention is to update this post on a semi regular basis, as the development scene is a constantly changing (improving, I should say) place for this phone. That is, assuming people find this thread useful.
About me:
College student who loves his Optimus G. I typically check XDA way more than is healthy, and bounce back and forth between most of the wonderful roms available for this phone.

Now for the meat of the post! I will not be reviewing ICS roms. Mainly because you have two choices, imperium and lifeless, and their respective jelly bean forms are reviewed here. Recoveries
Somebody wanted me to say a few words about recoveries, so here goes. We have two options, TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) and CWM (Clockwork Mod). TWRP is touch enabled, while CWM requires use of volume keys and power button to navigate. Additionally, we're officially supported by TWRP. I'm not so sure about CWM (I don't even know if they do official support,etc).
Honestly, I don't see any reason to not use TWRP. Most users opt for TWRP for its touch friendliness, and ease of use. It also has a nicer UI in my opinion. I used CWM way back on my Optimus S, and it got schtuff done, but I think most of the roms and everything here are tested by flashing through TWRP. So unless you have some special reason for wanting CWM, I'd choose TWRP if I were you.

Pros: It's what LG and Sprint want for you. They think this is just the bees knees, and if you think they have your best interests at heart, keep it! Most of the actual pros I'll discuss in lifeless.
Cons: Bloat, primarily. I've yet to meet the person who actually uses Sprint Zone. The messaging app is kind of buggy, I've heard, though since the JB update I haven't encountered much.
Major Bugs: None as far as I know.

Brief Description: Essentially (stock) - (bloat) + (tweaks) = lifeless. If you seek (stock)-(nearly everything that isn't necessary) check out imperium. If you like stock but don't like all of the Sprint/LG nonsense, this could be the one. And if it's worth anything to you, this is probably the rom that you'll find on my phone most of the time.
Pros:
- Aroma Installer allows you to get a VERY customized rom experience. Choose boot animation, preinstalled apps, which bloat you like, launchers, tweaks, sotkeys
- Liberty Evolved kernel optional. For most up to date version, see note at end of section.
- You can get just about as close to or as far from stock as you'd like while still being stock. If you don't think you can as far from stock as you'd like to be, consider Imperium (also stock based) or an AOSP rom.
- Performance/battery options like eco-mode and power saver.
- Pretty customizable lockscreen, with the cool dewdrop animation.
Cons: (note that these aren't really faults of the rom itself, it dos what it purports to do quite admirably)
- Still looks like stock, which is only a con if you hate the stock look. The notification pull-down menu is still cluttered. The settings app is still goofy looking.
- 4.1.2, not 4.2. So no lockscreen widgets, or any other advantages that 4.2 has to offer.
Major Bugs: None. One of the more bug-free roms, and if that's something you value, you should seriously consider this.
Rom Name: Imperium Initiative

Brief Description: This is basically stock totally stripped down and outfitted to look like AOSP. Conceived and manifested at a time when there wasn't any taste of AOSP available for our Optimus G, this rom did a good job emulating AOSP. However, it is stock based, however little it may look it. The developer behind it, Lokifish Marz, wanted me to mention that it's not really a rom, it just plays one on TV. In his words, it's "more a lightweight tuned base and series of mods for other devs and tinkerers to build and test on for their own ROMs and kernels". (If you want more info, his post is on the second page.)
However I'm going to leave it listed as a ROM, since I think that's what most users (myself included, up until mere hours ago) view it as. ROM or not, I think it's the most "barebones" option available.
Pros:
- Liberty Evolved Kernel included, though not the most up to date version. See note at the end of this section.
- AOSP look and feel, for the most part
- Relative stability of a stock based rom
- Quite nearly zero bloat
- Itsy bitsy (<500 mb) size. For reference, the stock ZVB rom is over a gig.
- Has a fun martian theme, right down to the background and boot image.

- If there are any stock features you DO like, you might have to jump through hoops to reimplement them on this rom. Lifeless has the edge in that you can selectively remove things upon install.

I highly recommend this kernel. It's very stable, still in active development, and can only help. It's currently for stock based roms only.

AOSP-Wide Bugs: These bugs apply to every AOSP rom, aka any rom in this post.
-Camera focus: Some camera daemon keeps running when it shouldn't, or doesn't run when it should, or something. But that's immaterial, the end result is that after closing and reopening any camera app, autofocus will not work. There's a workaround that involves running a script every time you need to use a camera app. This is the biggest bug for me, and is what keeps me on stock in spite of the Play Music problems.
-Audio over headset: Some users have reported audio problems when on the phone and using a headset. On the phone meaning in a call.
-GPS: If GPS isn't working, flashing a stock rom, getting a GPS lock, then flashing back should fix the problem
AOSP Based
- AOSP based. It's the general consensus that since AOSP is maintained by Google, it is the pure android experience and is what Google thinks their operating system should be. Google's motives are for the most part believed to be more for the end user's benefits, as carrier and manufacturer modifications are either (a) well meant but poorly implemented or (b) commercially motivated and irritating. Google wants its OS to be the best in the world, and many think that it is

- Reader's Digest version? Very themeable, like CM 10, EOS control center includes performance and UI tweaks all in a central place. The volume keys switch according to the orientation of the phone, resulting in a more intuitive volume control. Reboot options include reboot to recovery and bootloader, which is convenient if you spend a lot of time in recovery. Personally I'm paranoid about holding buttons down all the time, I don't want things to break or loosen or whatever, so software tweaks like that make me happy.
- You can turn off the screen off animation, which is something I like to be able to do. I couldn't figure out how to do this on CM10.1, please PM me or something if you know how and I'll amend this. When it's late at night and my room is dark, it's irritating to have the brightness very low but the screen off animation flashing very brightly.
Major Bugs: None aside from universal bugs.
Rom Name: AOKP (CAVEAT - I have not personally tried this rom. Take my opinions with a large grain of salt. Actually I've tried not to put my opinion in this part at all, just reporting what I've read)

What makes this ROM special?
It seems like the main differentiator with this ROM is how smooth it is, or purports to be. I tested it for a day or so, and found that it was indeed smooth, though I've yet to find a stuttery ROM for this phone. What I did notice was that there seemed to be a different set of animations, which may make things seem even smoother. It's hard to quantify smoothness, and what's smooth for me could be even smoother for you. Or less smooth. Or of comparable smoothivity. Smoov. Anyhow. Try it out.

I dont know about everybody else but I actually enjoyed reading the reviews of all roms.
I hope you continue to update the first post everytime a rom updates, so we can stay up-to-date

What about custom recoveries? TWRP and CWM are rather varying in functionlaities, layout, input methods ect.

Haven't used cwm for awhile, but twrp easy to use plus has touch screen interface. Last time I used cwm it wasn't as easy. But as with anything, it slop depends on your preferences.
Just thought I'd drop in and clarify something about Initiative. It really isn't a ROM, it's just packaged as such for ease of distribution. Like Initiative on other devices, it more a lightweight tuned base and series of mods for other devs and tinkerers to build and test on for their own ROMs and kernels. That's part of the reason it's called "Initiative". Except for a couple things, there is little difference between "Initiative" and "Agent". Also except for the bug fixes it tends to only get updated when the stock base changes.
BTW, thanks for the review/guide. It's something a lot of newcomers really need when playing with their new toy.

- Updated the camera HAL.
This is going to be a little... fragile, at first, but in the long run it's needed. Stock camera app saves pictures now at least.
You may also notice that there's a 5.1MP resolution now (clear your camera app's data if you don't see it), despite our camera supposedly being 5.0MP all these years. Turns out the sensor's native resolution is indeed a whopping 16 pixels taller and 16 pixels wider than we've been using.

- Added back some of the classic FML optimizations and more.
Built with -fstrict-aliasing flag, C++11, and the Linaro GCC 4.9 toolchain.
- Updated to AOSP "android-5.0.2_r1" tag.
As usual, the only real change was them bumping the version number.
- Improved flashing.
The speed of flashing the ROM zip is now much faster.
- Superuser is now built-in.
There's no need to flash SuperSU. You can find Superuser in the Settings app. You may have to enable the "Development Settings" menu to see it.
Some apps are a little sketchy with this Superuser though, most notably Titanium Backup. If you have issues, try flashing SuperSU.
- Video playback should be fixed.
YouTube in particular seems OK. If you have some weird format you're playing back locally I cannot make any guarantees though.
- The camera situation has improved and also regressed.
The stock camera is kinda back to the point of where it was with the KitKat Beta builds:

---- The camera calibration is a little messed up. Long story, but it'll be fixed soon. So your white balance may look kinda funky, among other things.
- Audio quality is improved, with support for 192kHz FLAC as well.
This is possible thanks to a new audio resampler, which doesn't impose the same sample rate restrictions of the stock Android ones. It also has far better quality than the stock Android resamplers.
- WiiMotes can now be paired via Bluetooth.
I used to be a bit of a Wii hacking enthusiast... I think I still need to add some more stuff to make it useable as a gamepad or something, but yeah.
- Fixed location services issues.
- (toro) Fixed switching between 4G/LTE and 3G/CDMA network settings.
- Kernel changes:
Reclaimed 38MB of RAM from the carveout stuff.
Removed HDMI's framebuffer, saving an additional ~16MB of RAM. With Lollipop, MHL/HDMI out isn't working with our old HWComposer, so might as well save some RAM in the mean time.
Added overclocking support, as well as adjusted the stock frequencies a little.
Added the GPU kernel driver back into the kernel, rather than building it as a separate module.
Switched to LZO compression for the kernel. It results in a slightly larger size to the kernel, but it boots faster.
Added the "purple tint fix".
Added compiler flag to tune code for Cortex-A9 CPU.

- Fixed the RIL.

There were a few things that went into this, and I can't really take much credit for it other than being persistent in trying to fix it.
1. rild needed a little fix-up to somewhat return it to pre-Lollipop form. Basically Google is forcing Qualcomm's junk upon the world. @dhiru1602 pointed me in the direction of some commits from rmcc to hardware/ril that fixed this part of the problem.
2. The kernel needed a commit to support some new junk related to networking in Lollipop. @Ziyan linked me to the change in question.
- Updated to AOSP "android-5.0.0_r6" tag.
Really the only change is that the build number is bumped to LRX21T.
- Switched out a couple small proprietary binaries with a reverse-engineered open-source version.
Thanks to @stargo who has really been killin' it for the Motorola OMAP devices recently, we now have a reverse-engineered pvrsrvinit binary (the executable that fires up the GPU drivers on boot-up). This is especially important because the proprietary pvrsrvinit wasn't compiled as PIE (position-independent executable). With Lollipop, they're forcing everything to be PIE, which is good because PIE is better from a security stand-point. Previously I had been adding a workaround to enable support for non-PIE, which I now don't need.
2014/11/11
- Switched back to the old OTA package format.
With Lollipop they're now, by default, flashing something similar to a system.img. I switched back to the old format. THIS IS CAUSING VERY LENGTHY FLASH TIMES NOW HOWEVER, I HOPE TO FIX THESE SOON.
- Changed the kernel to build with GCC 4.7.
With Lollipop, Google switched to GCC 4.8. GCC 4.8 has never been kind to the Galaxy Nexus kernel, I'm surprised it was booting at all in the first place.
- Added "Ambient Display".
Apparently I need to add a "pick-up" or "significant motion" sensor for it though, so it displays something when the phone is picked up.
- Fixed chromium crashing.
This fixes Browser crashing upon open, among other things. This fix has been in chromium itself for nearly 4 months now, I don't know what the heck Google is doing to AOSP to make it so FUBAR lately...
- Fixed lag in Recents menu.
Now it's smoother than KitKat's, in my opinion.
- Added back F2FS support.
F2FS is now supported again, HOWEVER, it is NOT supported on the /system partition. It really didn't do any good for /system anyway.
- Updated various icons.
The Dialer icon in particular was bothering me. Other things that aren't visible in the launcher, e.g. SettingsProvider, have been fixed as well.
- Fixed FLAC playback, among other media decoding issues.
Just needed a sync-up in the device tree with one thing that I think Google DID do a nice job of with Lollipop actually.
- Built the ROM with "WITH_DEXPREOPT := true" defined.
This basically has all the system apps compiled before flashing, to cut down on the initial boot-up time which is ridiculously long with ART.
- Changed the "Android is upgrading..." screen to prevent burn-in.
Instead of using the white Lollipop-like look, it now should show up as the old, darker theme.
KitKat Beta Changelogs:
2014/10/15
- Cleaned up the kernel.
Ziyan went over all his work not long ago and cleaned up the commit history and whatnot. He's letting me do the task of merging in the GPU driver stuff, so I'm currently just getting the kernel to a "clean slate" of sorts for other kernel devs to fork and build off of. Basically this should hopefully be the new "stock" or "Google" kernel. As a result, there's some bells and whistles missing from this build. It does however include some new audio updates that weren't in the previous kernel, which leads me to this...
- Changed audio sampling rate to 48kHz.
Previously the sampling rate has been 44.1kHz. The Galaxy Nexus supports 48kHz though! Here's what mainly sparked this change: since KitKat, the UI audio effects (e.x. touch sounds) have been switching over to 48kHz. With the Galaxy Nexus still using 44.1kHz, UI sound playback became kinda sluggish, and this was a big contributor to it. The UI sounds use the "fast track" audio path (where it tries to do as little processing as it can to the audio in order to play it with a minimum amount of latency), however a requirement of using this is that no resampling (e.g. converting 48kHz to 44.1kHz, like it has been doing currently with KitKat) can be required on the audio being played. Therefore the UI sounds were taking the "deep buffer" audio path, which has a delay to it. In switching to 48kHz, the "fast track" path is actually even faster now than it has ever been previously, and the Galaxy Nexus was already TOP OF THE LINE when it comes to audio latency believe it or not!
Another thing about this is that there is now support for playback of 96kHz audio files.
- Some updates to the camera HAL.
This hasn't fixed the situation of stock and stock-based camera apps crashing when taking a picture, but it's a start on it though.
NOTICE: Poweramp (and probably most other media players that use their own native code for audio playback rather than straight-up using the built-in Android APIs) is being pissy about the sampling rate change. If you experience issues with music playing, especially things like popping or crackling, please try Play Music or Apollo and see if your issue is still present. I know the UIs for Play Music and Apollo are pretty awful, but I can't write my own media player because I'm dealing with this camera stuff!

Running good so far! I dirty-flashed over the official Omni build I've been running. No problems to report outside of the expected camera weirdness. Play Store camera apps are all over the map in their behavior - CameraZoomFX works perfectly as you reported, Google Camera crashes like the stock camera, Focal doesn't have any display at all. Video recording works but the audio is a bit out of sync, playback is a little choppy on the phone but is smoother on my computer. VideoCam Illusion (which does its own video encoding via software) does not work at all. Video hangouts seem to work fine.
Also, I used the torch quite a bit today, and at one point it quit working and I had to reboot to get it back. It's a bit early to tell, but I'm suspicious that this ROM is affected by the same 'Camera quits working' bug as Ziyan's 'stable' OMAP kernel.
Anyway, thanks again for your amazing work!
I had the same Torch issue as stated above, fixed with a reboot. Im currently running on Ting/ a Sprint MVNO and they are known for having APN issues with 4.4.x roms. When switching to LTE in the settings, the dialer app would crash loop until I switched back to 3g/2g. Flashing an APN zip on their forum fixed the crashing, but havent been able to tell if 4g actually connects as its pretty shotty coverage in my area. But I thought Id share incase someone else is on Ting.

Coming from CM 11 I guess I have been lucky as far as not having to do my own work as far as updating the Sprint Profile, and PRL as it was still within the system settings. I have been unable to figure out how to update Profile/PRL on my own as of yet. Any chance one of you may want to share this info? I'd greatly appreciate it.

1. I currently don't have root.
2. The options to "Uninstall/App info" is there but the texts aren't visible.
3. 3G to LTE switching isn't working on the 20141015 nightly build. It was on the 20141014 nightly build.
4. No Up/Down icon on the signal.

1. Root works here on FML. THe official build of OmniROM does not include superuser, you need to flash it yourself from recovery.
2. That's been a longstanding bug with Omni on toroplus for some reason.
3. There's no 20141014 build of FML for toroplus - are you using the Omni official build?
4. That's turned off by default - Settings/Bars/Activity Indicators.

Hopefully you get some $$$ coming in. It's going to be about a week for me to donate. One thing people don't realize is that donations don't exactly flood in for devs. I released 4 Venum Ice ET4G ROMs and 2 fully inverted black and white Note 2 ROMs including icons, all inverted apps etc. I actually got over 1000 downloads on all 6 ROMs within the first 24 hours and had excellent feedback.... I received a total of 3 donations totaling $12! Lol. What you guys are doing is harder so hopefully some people who are still here show you guys some love for not making this a thread that got closed for inactivity.... Thanks again to both of you.

Wanted to give this rom a shot mainly due to the updated GPU drivers. So far a very smooth experience and pleased with it except for one major bug for my use case: Any video playback either Youtube, MX Player, etc.. after some uptime seems to fail entirely. In the case of YT it'll just sit at a black buffering screen. It'll buffer the data fine going by the progress bar as I've at times had about 1/4 of a 10-15 minute video buffer going by that indication with no playback. If I reboot the phone and give it another shot, it works.

That's the same issue as the torch issue mentioned above. It's a hard bug to track down because it takes so long to show up, and AFAIK nobody has found a reliable way to trigger it (other than just wait a day or two for it to show up). If somebody can figure out how to trigger it more quickly, I would like to try a git bisect on Ziyan's stable OMAP kernel (which is affected by the same bug) and see if I can pinpoint what is actually causing it. But without a reliable way to tell if a particular test kernel is good or not, a bisect is more or less useless.

Anyone using custom ROMs that can say fixes the bugs that are from the original Android 10 ROM? I understand that custom ROMs are not perfect and they still have bugs but, there are some bugs that I don't consider stable enough for everyday use. And also fixes the multitasking limitations of not being able to switch apps without reloading the app in the background. Performance for me can take a hit since I prefer stability more than performance.
If anyone can say that bugs from the original ROM are fixed in custom ones, can you suggest what custom ROM/s I can use?

I've tested most of the roms in the past 2 months and they re starting to get better and better with every update. The kernels also getting really good. (Previously there were more bugs but now less and less so most up to date roms are actually useable as daily drive, unless you use bluetooth a lot) If you're not using your phone heavily (gaming or watching videos for hours) you can even get 9-10 hours or more SoT.
Most roms have already fixed the bugs like green screen or glitch effect in apps that uses camera with HAL switch (enable/disable cam2api). The only bug that not fixed on custom roms is seems like to be the wireless headphones. Stuttering or not connecting at all.
I would recommend to install Telegram and join a couple of groups so you can see the roms development and interact with devs and other rom users. (To look for groups search rom name + daisy)
I'm currently using crDroid and I'm happy with it.
I'm currently on the summer 2021 release of the Verizon stock rom based on Android 11 and ONE UI 3.1, but have been hearing about newer versions based on Android 12. I'm fairly happy with the performance of the existing combination, (the speed and battery life are nothing short of epic) but have never found a solution for the longstanding bug where audio playback inside of Shazam is choppy.
My question to the community is if newer builds of the stock rom fix the choppy Shazam audio playback, and also, whether or not they break the Wichita version of the Google Camera app, which I rely on extensively (unless there's a less-broken distribution that I haven't heard about yet, in which case, lay it on me!).
Well, I finally bit the bullet and chomped down all the dirty/in-place updates for both the stock rom based on Android 11 and Android 12. After I inserted a T-Mobile-branded sim card, it set off a whirlwind of changes, including switching the stock rom from the Verizon rom to the T-Moible one all by itself somehow. Lots of nasty packages to disable, but it calms down well enough after doing so. Among other things, the T-Mobile stock rom is extremely aggressive about software updates. I let it push me around this time, but after getting through the batch, I did disable the obnoxious & pushy updater.
I can confirm that choppy Shazam audio was fixed by one of those (can't remember which one) and that the Google Camera app still works in the new rom, so that's a win. The sidecar widgets are degraded, and the little animation that appears when power is connected looks kind of weird, but everything else is alright, except for the horrible widget shaping on the newer stock Samsung launcher. Also, the friendlier band switching menu is stripped out, requiring use of the dialer code to prompt the more primitive one.
If anyone was on the fence about it, as long as you're okay with those minor caveats, I'd recommend going along for the upgrade.
