i needed an apk file i m using LeeDroid rom...thx anyway

I had the same problem. Beta expired and no apk would work.
In my frustration, I stumbled across another alternative called Ultra Keyboard. Has the swype method of input, and so much more customization. The swype method isn't as accurate as Swype's own, but it just means you have too slow your thumb down a little bit. And it IS only a little bit.
You can skin it to customize it's look, and even the free skins on the market place for the "Better Keyboard" app work for it.
You can custom height of keys, and have different settings for portrait and landscape modes.
Check out the trial and see what you think. Take some time too explore all the settings too.

Best keyboard for froyo

Hello to all,
I used the latest version me HTC ime mod keyboard and with eclair works well.
Since I have installed froyo keyboard sometimes became slow to respond.the stock touch input is better as speed of touch but is very very poor of functionality!
I have the latest version of HTC ime mod keyboard, any suggestion to improve the keyboard performance?
Thanks a lot
Mattia

I switched to smart keyboard, it feels more natural than HTC's keyboard and funs fine on Froyo.
Where can I find this?
Have Italian translation and numeric keypad?
Thanks again

It's on the market, and there's a downloadable Italian keypad. Dunno if it shows on your market though...It's around $2 but there's a trial version
Since I always used the phone keypad and this is my first touch phone, is better for me if keyboard has the phone keypad support
Thanks

Another vote for Swype.
So accurate it is spooky
Another vote for Swype. It even works well as a tap keyboard.

Give SwiftKey a try, I prefer it to Swype. Although I believe BlindType keyboard will trump every other keyboard once it's publicly available, BTW does anyone have a leaked beta of BlindType ?
SwiftKey gets my vote! Tried most of them and found it the best.
I vote better keyboard, theres a free beta on their blogsite.
has been working pretty well for me so far
Swype here. I love it, is just amazing.

[Q] which dialer its this and where to get it?

Hi
I'm currently on pays rom 1.3 and it uses this dialer
I quiet like it, but I would also like to upgrade to a newer rom and radio.
Can anyone confirm this dialer on a rom they tried?
If I can avoid sense that would be preferred as I use launcher pro and beautiful widgets
Thx

Looks like the standard Android launcher with a skin.
That was what I was afraid of.
Actually pretty cool skin, but guess I won't find it elsewhere then. Just have to cross my fingers and hope pays will update his rom soon
Thx for the answer

I saw that in nexus one screenshot thread. the developer showed this exact dialer and share the method for installing. I don't remember what page it was on tho.
the android dialer is uuuuugly

[Q] Swype for Gnex?

I am a part of the Swype Beta program and I also have the updater installed on my phone. When I go to the installer it says that my screen size isn't supported for swype. I am a little curious how people already have Swype?
Search for the galaxy nexus swype apk
Modified by one of our own here at XDA

It's in the themes and apps section.
Swype will be releasing an official beta later this month.

I've tried the swype.apk from the post in Applications and themes (can't post links since they've got a C&D letter from swype). It works, but i couldnt manage to download additional languages. I checked the swype forums, and they say that download of language packs doesnt work for ICS yet.
There is a workaround where you use titanium backup to get the language files you want. You have to be rooted for this to work though.

The best I ever used :highfive:

Swiftkey is good but it annoys the hell outta me at times.

A.I.Type Keyboard - No predictions (I turned it off) and stuff like that. Pure keyboard with beautiful WP7 and WP8 skin.
I use Multiling Keyboard. As suggested by the name supports many different languages.

My vote goes to stock HTC keyboard and the patch created by jonasl for cm7 and cm9..... I simply love the HTC keyboard...... So simple and yet so effective and moreover, it never lagged !

I tried it. Without predictions. Awesome stuff. Thanks a lot.
I use TouchPal Keyboard and it's all right. I've tried a bunch of different ones and i find this the best out of all.
I loved the HTC stock keyboard when i had swype (T-mo app) but since i put a custom ROM on it, that's gone... and i just can't type without swype any more...
H.
If you are using cm9 or 10 ,then go for xperia s keyboard. Nice one . Try it .

[Q] Scrolling Wallpaper - JB Sense based ROMs

Hey there,
why is there no wallpaper scrolling anymore? Can somebody mod Sense to set a scrolling Wallpaper?
Is there a workaround?
HTC removed it. No workarounds yet, and I checked myself: those lines of code that were used to do it on previous sense versions (3.x) are not there anymore.

But in Sense 4.0 it was possible
Thx for the quick answer.
Is any dev working on it? //Hopefully some notice this thread...
Could someone/you explain to me where i can find the section there this lines of code standed and how they looked like?!
Are there any tutorials for modding sense?
Is there a possibility to change the way you scroll? Right now it's kinda cubic, my sister is bagging me to remove that.
Even though i don't know how to program for android, i would atleast want to try it out. //C++ knowledge, Java and JavaScript basic knowledge
Android roms have 2 kind of files to edit : xml and smali
Some of them are hidden in M10 files.
But don't panic you can use the very practical tool from Virtuous Ten to explore the green robot world,I would begin with framework.apk

Where exactly did you saw this lines of code? I was searching for those lines because I would like to try to mod sense by myself. I'm new to this kind of stuff so i would appreciate some help. If you could point me the file in res folder for sense 4.0 where this lines are still there I would be very grateful.
Just install lyapota's mod here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2114584 there's an option to return it
