What apps do you have syncing? Facebook, Twitter etc. And if you do how often are they syncing, too often and that will drain the battery quick. Also have you conditioned your battery at all.

Yep all sync. And I checked it out I will upgrade my battery thanks to. A better one I changed to the team fenix newest room with overclock and battery doesn't seem to bad thanks alot for the tips

Brightness also depletes battery REALLY quick. Make sure that your brightness is 20% or lower for max.
Also, do you have an automatic task killer to kill apps that you don't want to run in the background? If not, get one asap. Also, if you aren't using bluetooth, GPS, and wifi, turn them off.
Your right got them turn off thanks alot for the help it really made a difference

Setting profiles or juice defender, both in the market...I personally think juice defender is way too complicated, I use setting profiles and it works great...

i use battery booster.
How do I get juice defender to be 2x efficiency?

Buy Ultimate Juice
I'm getting 24-36 hours of "my normal use" out of a single charge on CM6.1rc1
I did buy it but I am only getting 1.37x right now and I would like some pointers to help me increase that.

keep the screen off more. seriously. juicedefender's most effective tool is shutting off data connection when screen is off. by default it is set to allow data to connect every 15 min for 1 min. you can change that to just keep data off when screen is off (if that works for you).
I have it on 5 an hour but I really see the effects now, 2.84 at the moment, only lost 4% In 45 mins.

Will calls still come thru if data is off?
Yeah Calls still come through and even text messages
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yes, I think they still come through 2g..but I have it on prefer wifi so when wifi is available it turns off data, I'm on 2.65x right now and 1 minute every 15 minutes. Any other tips?

Don't get too comfortable with seeing that 2.65 up there, it will most likely drop down significantly once it gathers data. Depending on usage, the normal range will be between 1.7 and 1.85 if it's working well.
All I wanted was 2.0 but this is the second day and it's at 2.56x. How long does it generally take to get to the cooling down?(the 1.xx)

Uninstall it and use Autostarts and SetCPU. UltimateJuice is such a piece of trash.
Don't know what auto starts is but I have set cpu, not sure how to use either.

Autostarts changes when apps have permission to start. For example, when you receive a text message, certain apps will automatically start, but with Autostarts you can limit what can open.
So using setcpu and autostart is better on battery life?

For me it is by a mile. You don't have any extra programs running and constantly enabling/disabling things, so as long as you aren't in some dungeon-like area with no reception you should not need to turn off your wifi or mobile network.
I see there was 3 apps, autostarts(obviously not what I'm looking for cause was a car app), autostart killer, and auto start root, which one is the right one?
Sent from HTC EVO 4G via xda app
I'm going to have to disagree completely with TheBiles on UltimateJuice/ JuiceDefender. It works VERY well. I have only ever heard 2 people claim that they didn't like JuiceDefender and one of them was a noob who couldn't figure out the interface. I do agree on AutoStarts and SetCPU though. I use all three and I get very good battery life.
I have JuiceDefender, and I use it on and off.
I have noticed that when receiving a text message or turning on the phone otherwise, it takes *forever* for JuiceDefender's top-bar button to turn from red to green and release the top bar for use, whereas the top bar is immediately usable when JuiceDefender is disabled.
Has anyone else seen this behavior?
So what exactly is the app called for the auto start?
It's just called Autostarts. It has a picture of a red car as it's icon. You can find it in the market.
Which one is better? Sense is alright and i'd rather have it, but how is the speed of the ota?
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
from my personal experience, the speed of rooted ota can never be compared to that of CM7, or any other vanilla android roms. but sense does have its advantages in terms of widgets (although you can usually find some sort of replacement for them on market).
In my opinion, espresso is UGLY. I would go with a normal Sense 2.2 ROM or CyanogenMod 7. I use CyanogenMod 7 since it is really fast but I go Sense when I want a little bit more style.
Oh ok thanks. I'll flash nbmod this weekend

Just keep in mind that NBMod isn't completely stock. Quite a few apps are removed. Some needed to be removed like Amazon MP3 but, some are useful like MyFaves.
I have 2 Slides in my house...mine and the wifes. She is on 100% stock unrooted 2.2 and I am using CM7. The biggest issue that she has with stock is battery drain. She will come home from work after minimal use and her battery life is around 20% whereas mine is at roughly 50% with moderate to heavy use.

Try a task killer maybe? Set auto kill frequency to 30 minutes or so. I use Advanced Task Manager.

Task killers doesn't really help for 2.1 and up. The services restarts again and that causes even more battery. Probably all her widgets auto-updating along with email, facebook, twitter, and screen brightness up.
so i just flashed this new rom (infamous s3 v2.1) i really love this rom.
but the battery dies real fast..
i never turn on my wifi. i leave the standby thing for wifi on never.
i turn off basically everything except for my data.
i usually watch a lot of korean dramas and browse the web.
i was also wondering if flashing kernels would help increase my battery life and if so, how?
i really need help guys!
thanks for taking the time to look at this
For starters, turn on wifi whenever you can. Networ data uses a lot mire battery than wifi does. Wifi only uses excess battery when its constantly scanning for a connection. turn both off when not needed.
Also, any features you don't constantly use, turn off when not needed. Smart stay, auto brightness, auto sync, etc.

I use the cpu sleeper app which turns off one core when the screens off.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eugene373.cpu.sleep
Also Frosty Ics and JB roms get pretty great battery life.

Yeah I don't have any of those on like smart stay or motion and anything else.

Just wondering if anyone knows why when I turn of data especially, my phone can go 24 hours in one charge but leaving data on all the time diminishes the battery life. Is it a modem thing? I always had battery issue but turning off data seems to help a check lot. Thanks in advanced.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Do you often leave the coverage area? Because constantly searching for network when there is none will eat battery. Also If you have data on it will allow background apps to use the internet, which consumes power as well.
You probably are getting a much stronger signal when it isn't trying to stay connected to mobile data.
The weaker your signal the greater the battery drain. Often when you enable data you get a weaker sig.
Also make sure its not set to wcdma only.

I'm in pretty good coverage area.

It is pretty normal for you to have more battery consumption with the data on than off. I had a myTouch 3G slide that could go for 3 days if I left the data off. Check to see if you have any apps that are being synchronized too often because that could be causing your phone to die quicker than normal.
With data off apps can't update(refresh) right? That should keep them from waking the system up.

Try having wifi on when possible if you dont want to disable data.

lol! My slide was/is a beast! Dropped, kicked, slammed, scraped, you name it! Not a scratch on the glass! Cover looks like it was in an explosion!
Still use it for an alarm.

If they are set to sync they will still try. You have to turn off sync. But if they can't get out they still don't transmit so still less battery use.

Yeah that will probably fix the issue. When I was on TW, under the battery tab, I noticed that my phone would wake often during the night. Now with the data off, it stays asleep longer. I think ill have to use something like juice defender that enables and disabled data automatically
