So, I like to link my contacts to their Facebook accounts. However, since I upgraded to 2.2 I've been unable to link a particular friend and now I'm having trouble with another.
I've tried deleting my Facebook account off my phone and readding but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone know a fix?

wich ROM are you using? Facebook for HTC Sense makes it easier to link contacts, but in stock Androids contact app is also possible, have you check that the facebook account is not actually linked to another contact?
I had a similar issue earlier (am using Cyanogen)...turns out my friends name on Facebook was wildly different to his name in my contacts.
I had to set a nickname for him that was the same as his facebook name..then he showed up as a suggested contact when I chose to join.
Not sure if that might help.

I can't seem to get facebook contact pictures to update in the people/contacts app. The facebook pictures populated in contacts when first setup, but loads of my contacts have updated their facebook profile pics since and they just won't update on my Desire no matter what I do. I've sync'd, removed facebook, relinked contacts etc no joy. Anyone know how to make this update?

Same here only way I can update is deleting the sync and re syncing.

This is well documented on here guys as something that needs fixing. The only way to get the pics updated is to remove your facebook account and then re-add it.
Various people I beleive have aready emailed HTC (including myself) about this problem.
I have the exact same issue though about 2 weeks ago I noticed one of my contacts pictures had updated on my phone without me doing anything but it was only the 1 from what I can see and don't know what makes that one different from the rest

I tried it and removed the FB account and also the FB app but after adding them back it won't load any FB contacts at all!!
The app works fine and the account show like it syncs but in contacts when i choose which ones to show it just says: facebook (0)
What gives?
Does Anyone have multiples contacts being created and linked every single time the app initiates a sync. So for example under Joe smith it would create a contact named com.facebook.auth.login under joe smith. And this is created everytime it syncs, so overnight i had about 5 for each contact. It also doesnt pull the picture for each contact. is this just me?

I then installed the market versions of Facebook and Twitter. Everything seems to work perfectly except the Facebook contact Sync. I am getting duplicate entries and profile photos are not being sync'd in.
It did that to me also. The new update IMHO is crap. I uninstalled it and went back to the old version.
I just turned the contact sync off for now. What I would really like is just a way to sync photos and contact info straight into my gmail address book.

I am running an un-rooted un-branded Vodafone HTC Desire with the official Froyo update.
My question is this. I while ago I sent an email to an incorrect email address I manually entered in the "to" field.
Now when I start typing email addresses it often prompts me to select the incorrect email address. How do I remove it?? It's not part of a contact and says it's in "History". Email address history?
I sync with gmail contacts and facebook contacts too. It's not in either of those.
Lastly I want to sync with facebook for HTC Sense for status updates but not for contacts. Is there a way of seperating them? In Settings>Accounts and Sync I can just turn Facebook for HTC Sense on/off. Not specify anything else.

I've been hopping around other android forums reading the same problem and no one has an answer. Theres gotta be a way to clear this history. Its pretty annoying. I tried clearing data, clearing cache from the settings>applications, installed a clear history app, nothing works.

Just some detail to add to the issue from my experience -
Im running an unrooted HTC EVO using the native HTC Mail app running Froyo.
The problem also appears when you try to 'add' a new email account to HTC mail. When you start typing the first letter of the email address, it appears in a historical drop down as a choice. Seems like the unwanted email address only appear within an 'email formatted input field'.
I also thought it was part of the custom dictionary that gets saved when you type, but its not in that list either.
Could it still be in your sent mail somewhere?
Re: Facebook for Sense, do you want status updates for yourself or your friends status updates? If its your updates, use the Android app, for your friends use Sense and select your own picture for contacts. Hope it helps

I checked and deleted all sent mail..still shows up.
Not sure if this is ROM related, OS related, App related or otherwise, but my twitter contacts are not syncing to the phone and people app.
I used to see twitter contacts with their own card in the people app that I could connect/join to their google/facebook etc entry and get them all available in one entry.
For full infos sake I'm using BugglessBeast 4.1.1, and have the latest twitter app installed but just want to get a consensus and see if how its working for everyone else.
A) Anyone know what I'm talking about?
B) Anyone used to see this and doesnt on Jelly bean?
C) Anyone know how to fix it if possible?

I noticed that in Accounts and Sync, where there used to be a box for contact sync, the only thing there is "sync twitter" was that always the case? anyone have an old twitter version i can test against?
Twitter contacts sync doesn't work.
Yeah, after looking around this afternoon, I realized that since it wasnt working, they simply took it out isntead of fixing it.
So now I'm wondering if theres an app out there that will sync my twitter contacts to the people app with statuses similar to how HAXSYNC does.

I've got a little issue with my one X
I'm almost sure its just being my fault but I can't find it.
Anyways, i've got many contacts, and I want those synced.
Now i've set facebook to sync ALL contacts. And so did I for skype, but they just don't show up.
For example I have an contact called 'chris'
It's linked with my google contact, the fb contact, and the skype contact.
But it's just not showing up anywhere.
I've set everything to auto-sync, but it doesn't even work when I sync it manually.
I've also got this issue with facebook, whenever I want to upload a photo, and want to tag someone, my facebook contacts just aren't up-to-date.
Doe anyone experience this issue? Or have a solution?
