Stock Android tethering on Sense rom - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a simple question is there a way you can use the stock android tethering in a sense rom. While using a Sense rom with the wired(didn't work) and wireless tethering I preferred the tethering on CM6. Using PDANet was ok but the whole having to start on my phone and connect on my pc was kind of annoying. Also can we get the HTC camera from sense to work on stock Android. I'm pretty sure it has to have a sense framework installed but the camera is better than the stock Android one

Install this ROM/Includes Sense, Burnt Droid v1.2 and you will have what you want. Connect the phone to your laptop/desktop, select "USB tethering" and away you go.
With My phone connected to my LinkSys Wireless N router I am getting 11.65(down) and 3.78 (up), loving life.

Which rom?
I know it works with CM for wired and wireless. I'm using bakedsnack right now, meaning I'm having to use pdanet.

just download the pre9 release off of google
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list

I'm still using EasyTether from when I was to lazy to root my hero and it works great. I prefer wired tethering to wifi because I don't have to worry about battery or other people getting on my connection. When I use it I only want it on my laptop anyway.

[Q] Tethring problems with CM6 RC1 ?

Anyone running CM6 RC1 on their G2 having wifi tethering problems?
I tried both the built in hot spot and the googles wireless tethering and my PC cannot connect to either of them.
it worked when I was using the stock rom.
Any feedback/suggestions?
wifi tethering
Wired tethering seems to work after I downloaded HTC sync and it installed the drivers, but now my PC wont recognize my phone as USB storage.
ughh what a mess.
I don't think this helps too much, but wireless tethering is definitely working on my G2 right now!
It's just plain CM 6.1 RC1.

[Q] USB Tethering (CM7) with Mac OSX (10.6) ??

I cannot get the USB Tethering native to CM7 (7.0.2.1 on Evo) to work with my Mac (10.6).
Does anyone know how to get them to play nice?
My Growl hardware notifier shows 'Android modem' as a new device ... but it does not appear in network prefs or anywhere else.
Thanks!
Download "wired tether" from the market. Can't say it'll work with your mac, but I can't get the built in (cm7) usb tethering to work either.
I am on my MacBookPro right now, using the WiFi tether built into CM7. When my battery gets low, I just plug it into the usb port to charge, but leave it on Wireless tether. Works like a charm. Now, if only I had 4G coverage.
The Sprint "tweaked" WiFi tether on Deck's AOSP ROM works fine on my GF's MacBook Pro.....
I have no problem with WiFi tethering ... just wanted to use USB.
But from the fairly extensive searching I've done, it seems to be impossible, because Mac doesn't support something called RNDIS (which the 'wired tether' app requires as well.)
Oh, well...

[Q] ROM/app with Internet pass-through?

Is there a rom (or program, app, etc.) that allows internet pass-through other than the new sense 3.0 roms that have come out? (the new roms are kinda laggy) I need something to where I can hook up my DInc to my android tablet via USB and use the 3G from my phone to power the internet on my tablet, via the pass-through. Any ideas?
Why not do it wirelessly? I've always had good luck with the app "wireless tether". You can use it on whatever rom you please.
by pass-through do you mean usb tether?
You could try the Synergy RLS1 ROM, it is a 2.1/3.0 hybrid and doesn't have the lag of the pure 3.0 ROMs.
pdanet is a good app for usb tethering. You need to pay for it if you want to access https sites, but it's worth it. Will charge phone while connected.
I want a wired connection because its constant, and a little faster. And yes, I mean tether. I know how to wireless tether, I'd just rather have it corded via USB. Is that the only rom you can think of? Just curious. An aosp rom would be nicer.. quicker.(that's partially why I was looking for an app as well, because you can pick your own rom.)
And I don't want to pay anything haha.
Keep the ideas coming!

[Q] gingerbang sense wifi tether

Needless to say I have a Dinc2, running Gingerbang Sense latest. Can't seem to get wifi tether working right. I installed wireless tether for root users and can't connect with my laptop, transformer, or friend's iPhone 4. None of the devices will grab an IP address.
What do I need to do to make this work?

I had this issue with the newer wifi tether and had to go back to "wireless tether for root users" version 2.0.8-pre1. Different versions yield different results, but it works fine for me now on MIUI and Tiamat kernel. Which version are you running?
i installed a different kernel and wifi tether 2.0.7 and it works fine now.
Thank you.

[Q] help with wireless tether

i am running calkulin 3.0 gingerbread rom which wireless tether will work and how do i get it to work tried several at no luck?
I use Foxfi. Sprint had it removed from the market, but you can download it from foxfi.com. If you want wired tether try http://code.google.com/p/android-wired-tether/. It has not been updated since 2010, but it works well. I prefer wired tether because it is fast, reliable, secure and uses less power.

You can use a third party tethering program but Sprint Hotspot is already hacked and ready to go in this ROM.
Wired tethering works as well.
