I'm definitely experiencing the same problem. I didn't get it in the older versions though.

Ditto. Same problem here

Just make sure you fully exit it. Press the back button until you get to your home screen, then you won't get the login pop-up appear.

Yes, the last version didn't have this issue for me.

[Q] lockscreen

My lockscreen buttons are really close together and alot smaller than normal until u touch them?? I remember this happening in the past but don't remember what I did to fix it. Any one have this issue??? Cm7 nightly 143
Try remove that pattern lockscreen and reapply it. Also check if you have changed your screen density.

Ya that didn't work, nope haven't changed anything, if u touch it it go's back to normal?
I do stumble upon this problem long time ago when I use stock rom. I didn't quite remember how I solved this problem though. Or maybe its normal? I think I just removed it after using it for awhile back then (its annoying to swipe through EVERYTIME to unlock phone).

[Q] Signal dropping during calls

Hi guys, got a strange issue here. Whenever I dial a number the phone will ring a few times then the signal bars will jump from whatever they are on to nothing with an x and call will fail. However; the phone will still be ringing on the other persons end, and if I redial then it will jump into the call I tried to make previously. The same could happen again during the call. Strangely, this only seems to happen when I bring the phone up to my ear, if I use hands-free it only happens 1 time out of 10. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm using SuperNova Xtreme ROM, any more info needed?

Same peoblem here with stock... Heard it's a bug with proximity sensor. Does your phone drop the signal when you lock the screen?

Unfortunately, I have also read that there is no fix for that bad luck for us, I guess
Well, I've just done a quick Google and found that sometimes simply taking the back off the phone and hoovering everything out can help, as well as blowing/hoovering on the line between the earpiece and the screen. I'll try it out and post my findings.

Hey, I've managed to fix it, but only by flashing with an entirely new ROM/RUU. It's the only thing I could find to fix the issue.

Sense crashing

Is anyone else having a problem with Sense continually crashing? Almost every other time I go into an app and use it for any length of time, when I exit the app Sense has crashed and I have to watch the stupid loading animation while it restarts. It's happening really regularly.
Cheers.

Check how much ram is free.
And check the developers options for background tasks.

Incredible how much ram Sense is taking up.
I figured it would take less considering it's more stream lined to look at compared to say Sense 3.
At times it feels like we've got two operating systems competing with each other for resources but slapped together.
It's definitely not ram related. It just did it again with 313 mb free.

I initially noticed this too. Then I went and disabled auto updates to HTC sense and voila, no more seemingly crashes in Sense.

Hi globalgpj, can you tell me how you disabled auto updates? I got my new device yesterday and I find that my touch screen and buttons become unresponsive fairly often. The only solution is to press the power button briefly to switch off the screen and on again and the response is ok.
Thanks.
I had this problem too 1st time i started my phone.
What helped for me was a complete system restore and skip the setup-wizard and do all that manually one in SENSE.
Here it shows how it was on my phone (look at 0:30)

If this bothers you return the phone. Htc has had this issue since the Sensation. It will rear its head at some point. It's because Sense uses too much ram and isn't locked in memory so Android will dump it from ram to make room for other apps and then it has to reload which takes longer than most launchers. This reason alone is why I'm staying away from Sense. Try using an 3rd party launcher and it'll work better.

You don't understand. This issue has been confirmed by many people on Sensation running Gingerbread and ICS including me. Adding a line to the build file forcing Sense to be locked in memory. The moment you remove that line (how it is by default) it starts happening.
It's fine, just don't expect this issue to be fixed because to htc its not an issue. It's just the way it is.

I can't remember exactly. But it did solve my problem of sense constantly loading which causes lag or delay in sense loading.
However, check the following:
Go into settings, and at the very bottom is Developer options. Click this option. Then see if this item is ticked :"Show screen updates"... if it is ticked, untick it.
The only thing I have ticked in this option is "Animation", everything else is unticked.
The other thing I also do, is I try not to have my widgets updated constantly. I have my emails checked only every 3 hours, my news reader, greader pro, every 12 hours.
Let me know if this has helped you.

I believe you can only use this script with a rooted device. Is that correct ?
Many people with HTC One X may be locked into a carrier for some period of time and therefore on a Stock ROM !
adding echo ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1 to the local.prop solved the problem on my Desire Z, luckily temproot was enough to edit the file.
I don't suppose there is a way to temproot the One X yet?! I'm not interested in perm rooting my One just yet... I'm too fond of my 2yrs. warranty

This is a confirmed bug (countless people reported it).
I find this very strange.. i have in the last week had one force close on sense, other than that it has been fine
I haven't seen a single force close on anything yet. Had a few random close-without errors on Route 66 and one or two on Sygic, but this is infinitely more stable than my ICS Asus Transformers...

I have to agree with you . That was my problem in the beginning. So I installed Touch Calendar app, and since then, no more problems.

PS. I also went into SETTINGS, clicked on "Accounts and Sync" and check under my gmail account to see how many things were auto syncing. I removed most of them and chose to do them when I needed to. This helped conserve battery and possibly a smoother SENSE operation.

Strange effects after ending a call

Sometimes having weird stuff happening after i end a call: goes to some random contact in edit mode / dropbox app opens / etc
Tested carefully and it's not due to accidental touches around the "end call" button, it even did it once or twice without me ending the call...call ended by the other side, calling screen got closed and some contact popped out.
happens rarely, but wtf?

I'm unrooted and I get the same things. It's like I pushed something bit I heaven't. I hope that HTC will address this issue in their next update

The thing that pops up... is it the last thing you used or used recently?
Like cronus101 asked, if the apps that show after ending the call are the most recently used apps, then I'm guessing HTC Sense (the launcher) is crashing each time and since there's no home screen to go to, it displays the last used app. Pressing back will also cycle through the recently used. This is my guess. Try clearing data of HTC Sense in Settings-Manage apps. The best way to get rid of this is to do a factory reset and start afresh. There could be many reasons why Sense is crashing. This behaviour is typical of any launcher when it FCs. If you don't want to factory reset, you can try using a different launcher (Apex, Nova) and see if this still happens.

it's not the last used app that comes up...it's like random or something between 2 or 3, i even got dropbox once
Lol today it ended up in medialink setup screen....none of the apps that pop up are in the recent list btw....

Slow loading of home screen

Hi friends,
Happy to post my 1st thread in XDA
Last friday got my HTC one V (had to wait for 10 long days to get it from homeshop18 ) Played a lot with the new features and enjoyed it.
Phone runs stock ICS and not rooted.
There are 2 thnings I noticed.
1)I noticed that while coming back to home screen(either by pressing home button or by pressing back button) from one open application e.g. Calculator, it loads the home screen with some dalay(1-2 seconds). But if I come to home screen from list of applicaitons(not from any open application), it loads the home screen without any delay. I checked this behavior with galaxy s and sl where i din't notice any such delay. But one thing I noticed that when I press home button from any app say, calculator, it actually closes the application and loads the home screen but in galaxy s and sl, it loads the home screen without closing the appln. You can find it running in background in task manager. Is this the reason for the dalay in HTC one v?
2)When connecting the phone with HTC Sync Manager in my DELL Inspiron 1545, it says "Device Unavailable" , but it works fine in compaq laptops.I Googled it to know that it is a known issue but no resolutions found
I hope friends in XDA has some suggestions for the 2 probs.
sometimes it happens to me,first time it happened I did a factory reset so everything became good.2nd time it happened I removed all apps on homescreen, and changed settings in developer options to original..that's allll

Hi donhashem,
the reason for the lag was due to the fact that the OS closes/destroys all the activity as soon as the user leaves it. This setting can be on/off from Settings>developer options>Apps>Don't keep activities[On or Off].
Hope this will help you or any one tackling the problem by not doing a factory reset.
cheers!!
Yeah, thanks that's what I did the 2nd time it happened to me

Hi!
The upgrade to firmware 2.09.720.1 is available now in India.
Go to Settings->About->Software Updates.
Not sure if it will solve your problem, but makes the phone noticeably faster.
