Re: Any Pro Here ?!!
Dear,
I think that you are the wrong person over here, so please let the pro to answer not you.
Thanks.

We don't really have pros here. We all try to help each other with what we know and have experienced.
You want to go to the Rhodium page giving you guidance on the basic rom flashing questions, and try to find answers there (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=490)
Hopefully, the warranty issues will be addressed there too. To backup your current rom, you may want to use a third party commercial software such as Sprite Backup, or you may still be able to download your original rom at htc.com.
Android on our Rhodium is not a rom you install; and in any case, you only run it from the sd card. It does not change or replace your windows mobile rom.
You can download the projectandroid for the Rhodium and run it on top of your current original rom, without voiding your warranty.
There is a dual boot application most people use called "Gen.Y.DualBOOT" which you can download and install. After configuring it, you can then choose on boot whether you want to boot android or windows.
I notice that you have asked too many questions at once, requiring a lot of work on your part, with all the answers given. My best advice is, do one thing at a time so that you succede in stages.
Lastly, neither I nor anyone takes or will take responsibility for whatever negative effects your device suffers following the advice given here by me or anyone else. You are totally responsible. Remember though, one step at a time!

First of all You posted a question on a public forum and You are apt to get the views and opinions of whoever has access.
Second, The other member was correct, as to SEARCH for your information.
Third, (1) You do not unlock a ROM, you unlock your device to accept a flash, which is done by hard spl (2&3) Look on your providers website and download the rom that came with your device. (4) Ah, if you already know there is an Android port for The TP2 then you should already know where to get it, with that said there are intructions within that post. (5&6) There is also a complete post on this subject.
Now, as for switching themes, this is the wrong section.
Now I do realize that I may have not implied much insight on your situation, but we all hope that you come away from this with the knowledge of USING THE SEARCH FEATURE......
Thank You for your time and patience

Thanks to all of you, and really appreciate all your efforts, and at the same time I am sorry if I tired you with all of my questions.
Thanks again

Please help!!

Hi everyone,
I'm very new to the world of cooking or flashing roms etc. I appreciate this will be quite boring to most of you, but I was hoping someone could help me understand the basics. I'm from the UK and have just brought a HTC Touch Diamond on Orange network which I am very happy with. I am however keen on the idea of trying a new, potentially faster ROM. I currently have 1.37.405.1WWE. I have read a lot of good things about Manila and some others on here (elite) but I'm unsure whether to try one or not. My first question is how hard or easy is it to install a new ROM and what could go wrong? Could a newbie potentially ruin my new phone? Can I re-install the old ROM if I don't like the new one? I have read a lot about people doing manual changes etc , but I don't know any coding. Do I need to? I have searched the forum, but couldn't find any answers to such basic questions. Please could someone help me?!?!?
Thanks
It is not very hard to flash your phone with the ROM of your choice and usually it's quite safe as long as you follow the recommended procedure. Installing HardSPL is the first step which will ensure that a cooked ROM will not "brick" your phone. This is flashed as per the normal flashing procedure. Following this, you can choose the ROM you fancy ( I use Bepe's and I am very happy with it) and flash, again using the same procedure. The cooked ROMS are much faster than the stock ROM and usually very stable. Bepe produces 2 version of his ROM, Basic and Premium, whose major difference is that Basic does not include TF3D. Finally you can also flash a Radio ROM if for whatever reason you are not happy with the connectivity features and stability provided by your current ROM.
No coding required to do any of the above.
there is a nice guide here which shows you step by step how to flash a ROM:
http://modmydiamond.info/
direct link to upgrading ROM:
http://modmydiamond.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=26
I reckon the "flashing" part of your question has been answered.
Regarding the "cooking" part, what can I say... You won't learn till you do it yourself.
There are a few excellent guides out there (you can start with the xda-dev wiki)
And remember - search is your best friend. Both questions could have been answered if you'd have searched the forum.

Original OS of the Diamond

Hello everyone,
I hope I posted my first question here in the right area (if not, shame on me )
In the next few days my HTC Touch Diamond will arrive from Vodafone. I do not know if this is just in Germany but my last phone from Vodafone, a Sony Ericsson W810i, also had a "special" Vodafone-OS on it. On the W810i I was finally able to look up all the necessary information myself to make it a Vodafone-free phone. But as I read through all the available Wiki's, FAQs and other threads I am starting to see that this might be another level compared to what I have done before.
My questions concerning my new device are whether there is a possibility to change the "Vodafone-red-theme" to the original one which you also can see on HTC's homepage. Of course, the whole device should be in its original form, not just the theme, whereas the Vodafone-Services (SMS-Gateway and all the other service numbers which are needed to use the device). I think it is possible, maybe it has something to do with a "ROM-Upgrade" or so, as I have seen in a FAQ around here.
My other question is, of course, how to do that, what tools are needed etc.
In short, I need you to provide me the right link to a tutorial since here are so many and I do not know which one to take (and I do not want to screw up the device).
I hope that you can help me, if I accidentally posted this thread in the wrong forums might a moderator please be so kind to move it to the right section and notify me of my fault.
Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany (or Bavaria, to be more exact )
Zuzler
We'll let you off!
Yes, you are in the wrong section... you should be in the 'Diamond ROM development' section, but everyone is allowed one mistake (Except, myself... I have infinite mistake allowance!)
My device was vodafone branded when I got it, and that's the first thing I wanted to get rid of too.
First you need to 'Hard SPL', which unlocks the device so you can flash any ROM you wish. Then just flash your required ROM. I would highly recommend AZTOR's X2 Ultimate. He has the philosophy of keeping the ROM as close to the original stock ROM as possible, only better, stronger, faster... like the bionic man (I'm showing my age now!!).
Everything you need is in this tutorial. I followed it to the letter, and now my device is everything it should be. It's always very nerve racking the first time you flash your device, but what ever happens, there's some sharp wizard in this forum with the knowledge to get you out of the brown stuff... have fun
Hi grahamkdt,
thanks for you reply. I already thought after submitting that it would have been better to post this in the development area. I will contact a Mod immediately to solve that.
Thank you for the recommendation about the ROM, but there is still one problem for me:
Should I upgrade the "Radio" first, since in the tutorial you gave to me it is step B. Or is this just a prerequisite to not breaking anything? Are there also different versions?
Regards,
Zuzler
thread moved
now we are all happy
Wow thanks, I also contacted tnyynt for that
Can't remember...

I can't remember if AZTOR's ROM's include the radio. It might be worth flashing a radio first from here. I use Radio v1.09.25.23 (Quad Band) (52.51.25.26H) - no issues at all.
Or, you could ask AZTOR if radio is included in his ROM's if you're really concerned. Personally I'd just flash one first anyway...
Ok, I will ask him personally (just seen hes from Germany, too - might make some things easier)
Thanks again!

what do I need to do?

Hi guys
I have a totally stock phone atm and I want to mod the UI. To be honest Im not sure where to start! I want to get a few things running such as the analogue clock and a custom theme. My questions are pretty noobie so please bear with me:
1)DO I need to flash the ROM and what benifits does this give?
2)I have read about there being an old and new manilla. How can I tell which I have and do I need to upgrade if I get a new one?
3)what are the chances of me bricking my phone if I mess with this stuff? (especially the ROM flash)
4)I have experience modding phone UI's but I have never done a smartphone before. Is there anything specific I should know regarding the differences before I start going too in-depth?
any and all advice would be great, cheers

If you follow crackwhores guide, you cant go wrong. You wont be sorry if you flash a cooked rom. Flash NRG28's latest Rom, or one of Dutty's or Miri's, just check out the Rom Development Forum and see which one takes your fancy. I have found NRG28's to be best for me, but they all have something to offer, for me, the biggest benefit is the difference in speed, i couldnt believe how much faster my HD was the first time I flashed it. If you get stuck with anything, just ask and someone will be able to help.

1. No, there is no NEED to. But a non-exhaustive list of benefits include updated applications, faster response times, less bugs, etc.
2. If you go to the settings tab in TouchFlo and look down at the About section, it tells you what Manila version you have.
3. Most flashing issues are completely recoverable these days. However, there is always that miniscule chance that you muck up your device completely . However, if you follow my guide you really can't go wrong.
4. There are some tutorials on skinning and Manila modding in this forum. I would suggest reading through them!
thanks guys, that's put my mind at rest a bit! Time to get flashing

Hi
Read and Follow this for a complete guide on how to root to flashing, its pretty simple and this guide will help you a lot and it has videos too to make it more simpler to understand.
If you want to ROOT the guide is here: ht tp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084, or you can follow the steps here: ht tp://androidforums.com/desire-all-things-root/300866-guide-rooting-unrevoked-windows-updated-20th-may-2011-a.html. This is the tutorial I used to ROOT, and everything worked perfect.
Also before you ROOT be sure to make a Gold Card.
Instructions and download: h t tp://android.modaco.com/content/software/308798/pc-application-goldcardtool/
You can go back to your original STOCK ROM with and original RUU, which you can download from here: http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Bravo
Be sure to check your version with the one you download. From Phone go to Settings->About Phone->Software Information and check Baseband Version and Software number.
After you ROOT you can also make a back-up from ClockWorckMod Recovery, which is automatically installed when you ROOT. Also a good back-up application is Titanium Back-up (back-up app, settings etc.).
To run PS1 games you can get FPse app from market.
TO GET THE GAMES IF FORBIDDEN IF YOU DON'T OWN THEM!!!!
Hope this helps you. If you have any more questions post them here.
a great thanks to aamir007 and UsManyDead
but i didnt get wut u mean concerning the games, i downloaded the nintendo emulator and the ps1 as well, after that wut do i do ? do i download the games from the market or from some blogs or wut ???
concerning the root i will do it in a couple of days insha'alla and i will post my questions here if i face any problems, thanks alot mates
and do u personally advice rooting the phone, and is it better than the platform that comes with the phone ? wut do i gain from rooting my phone, for example do i get better performance and such things ?
sorry my questions might look weird but im new user
Hello.
What I meant about games is that you can't ask warez questions here. If you have the apk for android then all you need to do is get the image of the game. This one only you know how and where to get it. GOOGLE.
I think it is good to ROOT your phone since after you root you have a lot more options of what to do with your phone.
To find out what you exactly get after ROOT-ing please read the whole FAQ from here, it explains most of your questions (that you might have): ht tp://androidforums.com/desire-all-things-root/221212-faq-rooting-updated-2nd-june-2011-a.html
Depends on your needs.
You are currently asking the same questions I asked myself many months ago. Basically, it will all depend on what you want to do with your phone. If it will just be a phone, then there's no need to root it. On the other hand, if you plan to change every single aspect of how your phone looks or behaves, then rooting and "S-OFFing" should be done to it.
Just be prepared for headaches that you might experience. I know there are guides throughout this forum. But not everything will go smoothly. If you do decide to install another ROM, start with a well-tested and stable firmware, then experiment with bleeding-edge ROMs once you become more familiar with troubleshooting.
One more thing: enjoy the adventure! You will love it!
thanks alot guys i really appreciate ur help
honestly co_dominic, im starting to have a headache hehe ! thought it looks quite good
i actually entered to the stock rom ruu website u gave me but i didnt know wut link i should download.. how do i know ??

[Solved] Advice to flash ROM stock or custom and root

Hello to everyone,
To begin, I would like to say a big thank you to all contributors and members of this site for the excellent work you do for us !
I'm tired of the spying done by Google and Xiaomi with their bloatware, their applications that we can't stop or uninstall, that take permissions that we can't remove.
I would like to install a stock or custom ROM as long as it doesn't contain Google services (but with the possibility to install them if the need arises). I would also like to be able to root the phone (I don't use any payment service with my smartphone and it is no longer guaranteed).
My smartphone is a Xiaomi Redmi note 8 pro GLOBAL model M1906G7G (first version, not the 2021 version) which is running Android 11 with MIUI ROM v12.5.5.0.RGGMIXM and its firmware MOLY.LR13.R1.TC8.SP.V2.P57. It is already unlocked via miunlock.
I spent hours to read many posts here and also on other sites, but I confess that I am quite lost, between the too technical, too old or too specific; it is not easy to find there
I'm looking for precious advice from experts that I think I can find here without any problem
Can you please tell me where to start ? Do you have a rom that would fit my needs? Any posts or tutorials to advise me to read or follow?
Useful details:
I'm French, so sorry for the translation done by an online service
I'm not stupid, I would follow exactly your advice not to end up with a brick
I am able to follow or adapt to a tutorial.
I'm not asking you to do all the work for me but just some valuable advice
Finally, I will not do anything until we discuss it together.
Thank you in advance for your time for your advice and/or suggestions.
Best regards and long live XDA
PS: Sorry if I ask a question already asked (I didn't find the right answer despite my research) or if I post in the wrong section, I'm a beginner...my apologies
auto relply if it can help :
youtube, look for redmi note 8 pro install TWRP Recovery and root muiu 12.5 Android 11
PS : It's for official ROM for this moment, i learn and after, i ll see for a custonn rom
