Always provide specific details regarding your phone before posting for help.
Make...?,model...?,OS version...? only then somebody can provide any info
I know this has already been brought up and the person how brought it up was pretty much laughed at, I want to port over the multi window feature to our t989's and I know that the screen is small compaired to the note 2 but, I would like it still. I know that it has been ported over for the s2 i9100 and it works great. I also know that the roms for that phone are not compatable with our phones and people have bricked their devicesby flashing those roms, so I will not try and brick My phone!!! I just want to know if there is anyone that can port this over maby from the I900? I would gladly pay for it. Or can someone atleast point me to a link. So that I can teach my self and test on some other phones before flashing to this one. I love the features of the note 2 but I love the size and feel of my s2 so I do not want to swich. I just want to get a few of the features. Any help would be great. Please any hard core devs out there, please help I dont want to just use the stuff you make I know it takes time and skill, but I am more than willing to pay for it. Thanks Kevin
So first you say YOU want to port it over, then go into why you want someone else to do it...I mean, help you.
Ok.
I know it's being worked on. Maybe you can wait patiently

Thanks smart ass! I do want to port it but I dont know where to start. Im also willing to brick a few other phones to learn, I also was asking if someone could do it for me and Ill pay them. The only reason I said both is because I want to learn and I also did not know if someone else was working on it or not. Because all the threads Iv read all people did was down the idea because of the s2 screen size. So I figured I would offer to pay someone to do it because of my lack off knowledge in porting and if nobody wanted to at least they could point me in the right direction to start. Was that really that hard to grasp?

If there is anyone out there who can ether port it and Ill pay for it !!!!!!!!!OR!!!!!!!!! help me in learning by sending me a link to a how to so I can try myself and test on a few other phones while learning. If so that would be great and please only people interested in helping need reply. I know I dont know how and I dont know if anyone is working on this and it is not a patience issue I would just like to learn and do it myself if nobody else is doing so. I would have thought that a person willing to learn and or pay for and not just rushing people so they can just get it for free would not get crap from people who have nothing better to do. So please save that for someone who cares and lets grow up, all I want is help not stupidity. Thanks

Ididnt mean any disrespect and im sorry for the way i responded but if you read his post it was kind of uncalled for i just was asking for help. Im trying to learn and it seems like most of the time there is some one who has something smart to say. I mean what good is a question and answer thread if the answers are like that? Its almost like some people just think that every one should know what their doing and if they dont they jump on the oppertunity to make them feel stupid. Im sorry for the way i handled it, i was childish in that and it was wrong. I will just brush it off next time. All i wanted was some help and i went about that situation the wrong way.

Thank you. An again Im very sorry for the way I handled my self and the situation. I was wrong and exsept that in full. Life is to short to let petty stuff like that bother you and it will not happen again.
Bro it happens. Dont worry about it. Nothing wrong with wanting to learn or wanting what you want when u want it. I think you handled it well. Thats just my opinion.

I know this is a question but I'm hoping to get some help on development for this and the info I gather may be usefuluseful for other ROM development
I guess what I'm mainly asking for is someone with dev experience to help me walk through setting up my environment and getting this going, and someone who doesn't mind endless newbish questions. And possibly doing a little bit of development along side of me if I run into something I can't handle

I should have a disclaimer that I am not a full developer really and anything I say can and should be corrected by a real dev but I tend to know a good deal more than the average end user so therefore I try and help where I can
That said, from what I've seen from other devs getting the ROM on the device isn't that hard once you know how and assuming it's not some tricky ROM meant for a specific device (that said, MIUI is the kind of ROM that to me seems like it should be easy to get on a wide number of devices). So, if you want MIUI, it's probably best to ask for someone to port it and if it isn't too hard (I don't think it is) it's just a matter of the dev being nice enough
Teaching you to compile the ROM on your own though, may actually take a lot more time and effort. If you want to learn to make ROMs, which actually is rather easy compared to other parts of developing if you're not making your own from scratch, you could learn to do that, but it's probably better to learn the basics and go to a thread for it.
If you just want MIUI for your KF2, it's probably easiest to ask a dev to do it for you.
As always, any dev feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

I'm actually finishing up my college work then I'm setting up my environment. I don't believe getting at least an alpha build up and running will bentha hard, I just need someone to double check my work so that no one is bricking their device due to a mistake I make
On the note of questions, is it possible to make a suitable Linux environment with the wubi installer?
Setting up Ubuntu now
base and port rom downloading now, ill keep everyone up to date with progress

Also what device does para run on? Easiest way to port a ROM is make sure its one that already works on a similar device ( porting miui for kindle fire to the kindle fire 2) also the ROM your trying to port should have the same screen density. The three links up top seem to be excellent sources of information
for anyone thats interested i believe im almost done with an alpha version of the port, im asking a few newbish questions as im teaching myself as i go and im gonna try to have some people take a look at what i did just to make sure theres no insta brick on flashing it.

Once I get some help with the update script and have someone take a look at the files to see if they can see any major issues I'll upload it and send you a link. So far I'm stuck until I can either a figure out update scripts myself or I get some help. Everything seems OK but till I can try to boot this myself I can't really tell. Also once the HD codec issue is fixed I'll be merging that, I'll also be taking suggestions for fixes.

Oh I forgot about HD....hmmm. I am not sure how difficult patching things from other ROMs in is, but it seems like the next hascode release should fix most if not everything majorly wrong and I think that would be a better base point for building ROMs. It could be easy though and the thing is pretty damn stable. I've only ever had one issue beyond HD and re-flashing fix it so, possibly this is a good build to work off of
Yeah, it seems no one is really on right now but later they may be able to help, especially in IRC

One would assume but with semi limited knowledge on them I come to two assumptions, first off is the simple fact that I know the partition tables are different. So if the script tries to send something somewhere it doesn't belong it could be bad, second I see some differences in the scripts that I don't understand and there for do not want to mess with them until I do or someone who does will explain.
My goal is to not brick any testers kfires just seems bad for business

After looking more in depth at the update script I saw one major difference...
Which is to do with the dev/block
So I went with the previous ROMs update script and I'm making the zip for initial testing now.
Fingers crossed

hey guys, i just modified the liquid smooth rom cause i was bored.
all credits go to the liquid team...i really didnt do anything hard, and i dont consider myself to be a real developer now.
just wondering if anyone wants to test it out to see if it works, and give some feedback.
http://www.mediafire.com/?zj1dfa69nmyewzn
Changes made:
-removal/replacement of a few apps
-build.prop changes
-changes to updater-script
-changed boot animation
Like I said, I didn't make this to make a more optimized version of liquid smooth. It's more of an experiment/attempt to learn a bit.
Thanks.
btw gapps arent included.

a few build.prop tweaks, some modification of systemui, deleted some apps and added others, changed bootanimation, and i think some other stuff that i cant remember anymore.
Not really a good way to inspire confidence in a ROM that you don't even know what you did to it...

im not really trying to promote it to everyone. i just did this as an experiment, and i just want to know if its booting ok, not force closing apps, etc. so that i know whether or not to change something.
How about you test it out yourself before asking others to risk trying it. Just a simple piece of advice.

Feedback:
Who'd want to "Test" a rom from a non-developer, when there are many that are from DEVELOPERS, not to mention the Liquid Smooth was developed by a full team. This to me infers that you are better than a team? Oh well, if you want to try peeps, go for it, but remember, it was done by someone who says he was not a developer.
like getting on a bus with a legally blind driver!
I have no understanding why anyone would!....... and "TEST"? OMG

i clearly said in my original post, that i take no credit for this, and that all credit goes to the liquid smooth team.
By test i didnt mean to go through the whole rom and check if every single thing works. Im just asking that you flash it
and let me know if it boots fine and doenst have any major issues.
like i said, im not trying to promote this as the best rom for the s3 that everyone should start using.
no need to get all pissed...it was just a simple question. If you dont want to try it, why even post?
i understand your concern guys, but blind development happens all around XDA. if this guy today had a "Recognized Developer" tag, i bet many of you would try it out. don't underestimate the OP.
that said, make sure you do understand that there is a risk since this is a blind development, although i doubt anything would go wrong since this is just something the OP took from an already working ROM for the TMO Galaxy S III and tweaked it a bit...

+1. We can do without the drama guys. The OP is doing absolutely nothing out of the ordinary by developing blind. Yes, it is always a risk for testers, which is why he posted this here looking for the willing. If you don't want to try it, please move along and stop flaming each other. :good:

Thanks. Like you said I doubt flashing this would cause any harm. All I really did was change a couple apps and replace some pics in systemui and frameworkres.
Just make a nandroid, flash the rom, let me know if it installs/boots properly, and then just restore your nandroid.
My apologies go out to the op. He did make an effort to further improve an already outstanding rom and asking for testers is KEY. It's a great start for experimenting while increasing your knowledge on the more advanced aspects of android. Will give this a try once my S3 is fully charged!

Considering that its possible to modify firmware images and inject custom malicious code, I don't see anything wrong with questioning someone's motives for putting up a ROM that they admit they don't even remember what changes were done to it. I can understand if you think you've improved upon something but without a change log or anything there isn't really any reason to test it. Being cautious is not the same as being an ass.

Oh no, I wasn't aiming that towards you at all. It was just a general statement. Now let's stop spamming this thread with off topic posts
Everybody has a point to start. May be this is his point.
I swear if I was fan of 4.2 roms I would do it for you. But I already had too much headache with 4.2 roms.
Dont forget to ask original dev before you modify his work like this.
Gud luck ahead.
the rom has 6 downloads, however no one has given any feedback?
if anyone flashed it could you let me know if it works ok.
As grateful as I am for the H932 to now have root, it's only half the battle for me. V30 development in the ROMs department already seems to be a bit slim in what's available, and I fear it might be too little too late for the H932 for development to really take off.
Having said that, I wanted to call on any capable and willing dev to give us some love on the H932, and I'm more than willing to donate to the cause for the first dev that is willing to grace us with something like this:
First off, confirm whether or not we can indeed use AOSP ROMs or if we're stuck with stock based.
Stable (stock Oreo from Tmo sucks in this department, too many bugs left unfixed).
Debloated.
Wide range of customization options, if possible.
That's all I ask! Anyone else feel free to expand on that.
Who's with me?
I'll start us off:

Kangta05 - $20

Wow, you guys really are inpatient
My H932 doesn't even get here till tomorrow. As soon as I have a phone in my hands, then I will start with:
1 - fixing the kernel so the H932 can boot any AOSP ROM
2 - Working on getting Treble support working, so that we can run GSI ROMs
3 - Getting a build of TWRP out there that support encryption

There's no dev without root, so folks, whatever bounty you are willing to pay should largely go to @runningnak3d first. Here is the link for your convenience: donate to runningnak3d. Do it, then if you have any left and willing, you could pledge bounty for developers.
That said, for development I have H932s I can loan for 1-2 months. PM me. I personally prefer stock LG and have less need for AOSP/Treble, but the loaner is available regardless.
Aaaaaaand we have a WORKING BUILD! Still very early, but making very good progress.

So much for donating.. I thought the point of any of this was making money.. even easy side money.. I guess I can wait..
The purpose of this isn't to make money. Its to get support for the H932. Which i have done. As of right now there are only minor issues such as audio issues. Those don't need multiple testers.

I rarely if ever see a developer do this because it pays (99% of the time it doesn't). The point of a Bounty thread such as this, is to act as an incentive for developers to hopefully begin supporting the H932, however they are under no obligation to do so, and if someone steps up to do it, such as me2151, I promise you the $60 he might get in donations does not begin to reflect the true value of his work, not just in time spent but his work also provides a base for other developers to make their own ROMs much easier in the future.
Just my 2 cents.

I also said pm me because I'm as impatient as you.. I thought you would understand where I was coming from. I was expecting you to shoot me a number or link.. I said I don't mind bugs.. I don't even use this phone for anything other than testing and I get bored.. I guess waiting is ok.. but an incentive to donate is nice to.. it goes both ways..
