[Q] Where to save wallpapers? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

To change the wallpaper I have to press the homescreen and choose "wallpaper". By now I have to choose "Gallery" if I want to get a file from the sdcard. But I do have the options "Launcher" and "LaucherPro" where I get a list of wallpapers provided by these launchers.
Is there a possibility to create a .apk file which I install and which let me choose a wallpaper like "Launcher" or "LauncherPro"? If it exists how do I create such a .apk file?
<edit>
I discovered where the current wallpaper is saved. As a workaround I can change that through ADB

4. Use the back key on your phone until at the top of the screen you see the Root Explorer icon and a "/" with nothing after the "/"

Now for how to get widescreen wallpapers to work
1. From system settings for display choose Homescreen wallpaper. you will get a popup of the different options you have to choose wallpapers from. You must choose the Gallery that is labeled as "com.android.gallery3d". It will have the pink icon.
2. Once inside this gallery choose which image you would like to use as your wallpaper. Once you choose a popup box will appear. Your 2 options will be Crop picture from both the galleries. It does not matter which of the options you choose!!!
3. If you choose the Crop option labeled "com.cooliris.media" you will see the familiar orange rectangle to choose how to crop the image. If you choose the one labeled "com.android.gallery3d" the box for cropping will look different than you are accustomed to but will function just the same.
4. Resize how you like and hit the "CROP" button or "SAVE" button depending on which crop option you chose and your wallpaper is set for your homescreen.

Help with zip icon and font pack download

Did a search and came up short. I downloaded an "icon pack" in zip form. I transferred the files to File Manager HD, how do I get my N7 to recognize these files as some sort of icon pack?
Thanks for the help.
"Transferred the files" meaning transferring the image files / icons that were in the zipped file? I'd suggest copying / transferring the image files to a dedicated folder on your device - I called my folder "icons" for example. Then in your launcher (I use Nova), you can edit the app icon shortcuts on your home screens, by long pressing on them, and choosing "edit". Then touch on the icon image that's being used, navigate to where your icons are, and select the one you want in there. Hopefully that helps!
I download the icons to Dropbox, then export to gallery/sd storage. Then use Nova to edit. Works for me to support several devices.

[Q] Is it possible to replace icons of applications?

I've used Amazon FireTV Utility App to replace ikonoTV's icon with Kodi's.
Can somebody explain how to do this with other apps?
I sideloaded a couple apps, installed a couple sacrificial apps, used llama to create the event, and now I want to swap the icons.
sacrificial app #1 = Flixster
sideloaded app #1 = HBO Go
sacraficial app #2 = ClassicTV
sideloaded app #2 = TWC
Code:
adb push ./Kodi_Icon/ikonoTV/preview_5dd7e33b605bec171c4bba546e5b35c783feb32a53c44227249ad52f653dc49c.png /sdcard/.imagecache/com.amazon.venezia/org.ikonotv.smarttv/B00NEJS7ZO/
adb push ./Kodi_Icon/ikonoTV/thumbnail_bfc0289736b3b0fbd3e32dec9d5d44c9dbe7cef5a082645ab0af157c6f3f600b.png /sdcard/.imagecache/com.amazon.venezia/org.ikonotv.smarttv/B00NEJS7ZO/
So look for the names of the preview and the thumbnail of the icons you want to replace and push the icons you like to the corresponding lokation.
Try to get a file Explorer installed like Es FileExplorer or Root Explorer. Navigate to the root of the internal memory. You will see a hidden folder called .imgcache open this folder and navigate to the 2nd folder, named com.amazon.venecia. Now you will see various folders with the title of the app. Open the folder of the app you want to change its icon. The icon will be named preview_ and thumbnail_ replace these 2 files with the icons you want. Just make sure you name them exactly the same and that the icons are .png files. Once you replace these 2 files, the apps icon will change. You can add any picture. I found out that you have to keep the thumbnail_ as a 121x121 picture and the preview_ as a 365x365 picture.
Get the icons from Google and just resize them and convert them to .png if necessary. So far I have all my side loaded apps on my main menu.
thanks -- with that path I was able to get the files replaced.

How to set up wallpapers on a luancher and/or lockscreen

as a lot of kindle users with third-party launchers have noticed you cant keep a wallpaper (you can set on temporarily) but it doesn't stay. WARNING IF DONE MORE THAN ONE THIS WILL BRICK YOUR FIRST GEN KINDLE
first chose your wallpaper with your launcher. Then, go into es file explorer You will need to navigate the directories as follows:
data/data/com.android.settings/files
Inside the files directory, long tap wallpaper and select Properties.
Select the Change button.
Uncheck the two checkboxes that are checked under the write column.

Question (SOLVED) Downloaded live wallpapers will disappear

Hello.
I download via stock wallpaper live wallpaper. It will be saved in the folder of my downloaded live wallpaper. They stay there for a while and then disappear and are no longer visible in the downloads. When I find them in the file manager, they are stored there.
What could be the problem?
You can try to uninstall wallpaper app via https://github.com/Szaki/XiaomiADBFastbootTools (a simple tool with his own UI using ADB and java) then re install it, could fix it ?
I'll try. Thanks
So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the problem still persists.
You can see in the screenshot.
There are 3 live wallpapers downloaded. Each has a folder where the wallpaper itself - video and sound.
And a separate file will be created for each folder, which is marked on the screenshot.
When I delete this file, the wallpaper is not visible in the wallpaper stock application, but the wallpaper is still functional.
It's just that this file disappears by itself after a while and I don't see the downloaded wallpaper. It is not clear to me why the file disappears by itself.
So, the problem is solved in its own way.
1. I'm downloading live wallpaper.
2. I immediately have to set it as a background, for example a home screen.
3. A folder with the video itself is created automatically.
4. I move the separate video to the root folder of the live wallpapers and leave only the separate video there.
5. All other created files, including what mysteriously disappeared itself, must be deleted!
6. A separate video file must remain there.
7. You can also record your own video and paste it into the root folder of live wallpapers and it will appear in live wallpapers and you can use it like other live wallpapers.
