Question about stock memory card - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I'm ready to root my 2.2 Dinc with Unrevoked3 on Linux. The directions I have read say I need at least 2GB of space. The card my phone came with was a 2GB. I formatted my card and the space only went from 1.85gb free, to 1.86.
If I run reflash.exe, will my phone proceed? Or do I need to purchase a larger card?
Thanks.

8GB Goldcard upgrade to 16GB SD card

hi,
i have a Desire that's now rooted with a 8GB SD card,
just wanting to know if i can now upgrade to a 16GB card without having to make it a goldcard like i had to with the 8GB?
Thx for any help
I don't think you need the Gold Card when you are rooted, so you can upgrade safely .
IIRC you still need a goldcard even with root. Not 100% though.
I used gold card to go from stock to root... and then I threw it away, never used it ever again and I flash daily
Thx for the help guys..
save me starting a new topic,
i have the default 4GB card in there at the mo, can i just copy the files on it to a new SD card, pop it in and that's it?

[Q] Installing apps onto EVO SD Card to save space

Hello everyone!
Isn't the point of having and 8gb sd slot that is expandable to 32 gb is so you can put a whole lot of apps on your phone? I know the storage space is great for media but I've gone through 2 storage cards trying to install apps on them. The first time it was on the 8gb card that came with the phone and after so many apps the phone just stopped being able to access the card. So I paid $30 to upgrade to a 16gb from buy.com and everything was working fine until I got about 530 mb of apps installed on to it and the phone just stopped reading it. I can still read the cards with my SD card reader on my laptop but the phone just cant access it. I'm starting to think its the phone which is now rooted so now my warranty is void. Anyone have any info on this? Please educate the masses!
Thanks!

Click to collapse
You could just move your apps back to internal memory and then swap out the card and reformat.
I think its even easier:
Dismount SD card, remove and insert in PC, copy its contents and then copy them to your new card. Insert new card.
That's what I did when I formated my card when I was suspicious it had errors. No need to move data to memory.

Memory Card Formatting

Good Evening once again,
Now that my phone is up and running again thanks to some wonderful people on here I was wondering if some could offer some advice on my memory card.
I was given a 32GB m-sd card for xmas that I REALLY want to use in my phone however having a problem formatting it. Using Gparted it will only let me create one partition. If I put my old 8GB mem card in I can delete all the parts and then recreate the two (one Fat32 and one ext4) So is there a reason why I cant do it on my 32gb card and is it fixable?
Thanks,
Max
If youre a windows user, google and download h2testw.exe to test the SD card. Just to confirm that there are no errors in the entire 32GB of space.

[Q] Sd card problems

Noob here, I have one simple question. I recently purchased a Class 10 Sandisk 32gb microSD card because I was running out of space in my internal SD card (mostly because of pictures/videos). So I formatted and inserted the card into my phone and was expecting more storage space but whenever I try to take pictures or save anything it says it has insufficient space. In "storage" it says the 29.7 GB free and none of it has been used. How do I tell my phone which is running on CM10 stable, to utilize my microSD now that it has no more space?
Thank you very much for you time.
