Greetings, please help me with my HTC Desire(Android 2.2, 2.10.405.2).
I can not disable weather full screen animation. I've already tried to remove and add HTC Clock widget(with weather), disabling "Full screen animation" or not - nothing! It still shows me clouds every time I unlock homescreen. It even somehow manages to show animation in "LauncherPro". WTF? Please help.
Thanks.

The problem is that there no any more HTC widget on the screen, but the animation still remains, even after I add widget with checkbox "Full screen animation" set to false and then delete this widget. I don't need this widget, I'am using LauncherPro which is quite useful. But this annoying animation still displays everytime after unlock.

its quite an impressive feat getting the htc animated weather to work with launcher pro accidently or not other people would kill to have that working
"Weather Widget Forecast Addon" saved me, problem solved! I hoped to find application to remove the animation and this application worked for me. I've unchecked all animations and clouds gone. Great!
had the same problem and fixed with the app listed above.
great.

I am using Miri's V29, and everytime i open the tast mngr, or just randomly, the weather animation on the home screen refreshes, and slows down the whole phone.. I want to disable it.
I've read around about changing a registry key:
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\weather.EnableCurrentLocation set to "0"
i've done that, and removed all weather locations but still i get a current location animation in the home screen.
anyone have an idea of what else i can try?
Change the wallpaper of the home screen and there will be no weather animation anymore
LOVELY! haha thanks!! now i can get the weather info, and no animation!

I dont want weather information at all in my today screan - changed wallpaper - still coming top of that - help me to remove
Thanx
Was running DC3.5. Flashed CM6.0 and still having the same behavior...
When unlocking the screen, i see a slight trace of an animated/live weather. Sort of like a sun/cloud. I can only see it vaguely though and I cant figure out what app its coming from.
Any ideas?
I'm running Beautiful Widget but the image I am seeing is like a live weather image of the sun and cloud parting ways.
Im stumped
I'm personally not using that widget but the widget I am using (Weather & Clock) has an addon with settings that animate upon unlock.
See attachment.
If you can't find it in running apps or something perhaps a complete wipe and reflash?

I owe you a beer!
I also have that widget but dont really use it as I prefer Beautiful Widgets but for some reason, not being enabled (the widget) those settings were still active. Unchecked that setting and all is well!
Thanks again!
Not a fan of the grandpa sized stock HTC clock/weather widget, I use the Beautiful Smaller Home Weather widget, with downloaded skin.
Anyways, after I unlock the phone and get to the home screen, the cool weather animation is no longer there. Is there a way to still have that, when using a different weather/clock widget ?
I did go into advanced options of the widget for "Unlock Animations" weather animation after unlocking the device, I checked that box. But still nothing. WTF
Search "beautiful widgets animation" in the market
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App

I did that search, and shows up "Installed"
have you tried a different skin? sometimes my animations disappear on me
There is a setting inside of beautiful widgets that has to be checked in order for it to work. I didn't know you had to have the plug in and when I was playing with the settings I turned animations on and it automatically took me to the market to download and install the plugin.
Beautiful Widgets
Is there a free version out there ?
I had the same problem with the weather animation...I got it to work after changing the weather service from "Google" to "Accuweather".
So the new sense 3.0 live weather wallpaper is niiiice.. really like it however the animated part seems to only happen in widget locker(if using) and not on the actual page. But this isnt much concern, my issue is that the sound effect happens in the lock screen when i use an alternative wallpaper. So my question is is there anyway to edit that live wallpaper to remove all sounds?

When selecting the live wallpaper, choose preview and there you will have a settings option. From there you can disable sounds.
My problem with the live wallpaper is different... After running for quite some time it just freezes until I lock and unlock my screen again...
any ideas?
i installed the sense 3.0 weather but my weather did not change ! (i could have the lock weather widget).
when i apply the default live wallpaper which is that girl with sunglasses the screen goes black ! the pattern lock screen is black also.
i just mounted revolution 2.3.3 latest rom.

Scrap that, apparently there are no sounds for night so i couldnt tell if it worked or not, but its the sound is still on. anyone help??
I'm having the same problem with the sound. I'd unchecked the box for sound effects, both in the clock/weather widget as well as the live wallpaper but there's still weather sounds.
I've linked it to the weather live wallpaper however. When I choose a different wallpaper, the sounds do not come up anymore.
Is there another way to disable the sound in this live wallpaper?
Hi, I have the same problem. I've unchecked the sound effect in weather app and also before applying a new live wallpaper (weather) ... but the sound in still on, when I unlock the screen... anyone knows what's going on?
I have HTC Desire with RCMix S v 2.0.1 ROM ... tnx for any replay...
Still no solution? This is so anoying

I had this while trying "RCMix3D KINGDOM v2.0 Evolutionary Sense!". But considering that and the fact that it wasn't very "live" after a cycle of the animation i picked another wallpaper (a normal one). However! After having installed Virtuous Unity 1.29 i tried the live weather wallpaper out. It's still not very "live" after a cycle of the animation, but at least unchecking the sound checkbox makes it be quiet.

It is only meant to do one 'cycle' that is normal. My HTC Flyer is the same. it must be a battery saving thing.

Thanks for this - love the wallpaper but the sounds were driving me crazy, living in the uk its cloudy all the time so the wallpaper plays a sound like a bloody fighter plane whizzing past!
Hi Guys,
Just started using Sense 4.0. Stupid question... much like the previous versions of Sense, the weather animations (wipers when raining, clouds across the screen, and etc...) that used to show up on the screen when the phone was unlocked; has Sense 4 gotten rid of these animations?
I mean, I see the weather animations in the clock/weather app, the Weather lock screen, but not the animations that used to show up on the home screen, after the phone was unlocked... Is that gone in Sense 4? Can someone confirm? Thank you.
The full screen animations are selected when you add a weather widget, such as the default clock. Just remove the clock, and add it again, it'll give you the option
No it hasn't gone from sense 4.0, you just need to remove the clock widget and then add it to the home screen again and it will give you the option to enable full screen weather animations. Hope this helps.
Edit: looks like edge3uk just beat me to it.
Hi
Yes you can get weather animations, you have a couple of choices:
On the Lock Screen
Go to Settings - Personalise - Lock Screen and select Weather. Now whenever you turn your phone on you get a weather animation for your location.
As a wallpaper
Go to Settings - Personalise - Wallpaper - Live Wallpapers and select the Weather
Note that these options, especially the live Wallpaper will be using a little bit more battery power then viewing a static wallpaper image, of course that only impacts you if the phone spents a lot of time on with the wallpaper on show.
Another option, generally more accurate, in real 3D, is to look out of a window or go outside Yes I too have animated weather, it just looks cool lol.
Edit: and another way is to use the widget as already posted, so that makes 3 so far.
Regards
Phil
It is off by default. Just long press the clock&weather widget and push it to edit, click your current location, and tick show full screen animation.
Guys,
thank you for ALL your wonderful replies! Indeed, the animations work for me now, BUT, I cannot figure out what "triggers" them on the home screen... they just happened randomly, I can't deliberately kick em off...
For example in earlier Sense versions, the way to kick it off was, EVERY time you unlocked the phone, and the home screen had the Weather clock, the animations would go....
That doesn't happen in Sense 4, can someone confirm this or tell me what I am missing?
Thanks again!
well for me they only appear after unlock.
