if you talking about the touch pro there is no need to root, you have root access.

Yea, we may need more than this. What are you trying to do? If you're running XDAndroid, it is already rooted as hamagc pointed out...

Disable boot start? What does that even mean?
ya i'm still not catching you either. autostarts.apk is an app that will let you run selectable apps at boot (google). i see no reason this wouldn't work. is that what you are trying to do?
there is no boot start to disable on our devices.
For example, some worthless, I want to disable the boot
Ok... that's interesting. I don't think root access is your issue, it's probably something else... I just don't know what.
He's trying to keep certain programs from starting when Android boots up, I believe.

You need to download/flash cf-autoroot using Odin for root access.
Here is the download link: http://download.chainfire.eu/354/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-hltetmo-hltetmo-smn900t.zip
This zip file also contains Odin, so just unzip all files to a new folder in windows and odin flash
the cf-autoroot TAR file, reboot the phone and your good to go.
Good luck!

Yes, im wondering the same thing. Not so much how to disable it, but if updating will hurt my chances of root.

You can prevent updates (and presumably notifications of downloaded updates) without root. See this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3148650
There are a couple of apps I want to use which require the fire tv to be unrooted. Is there a way I can run clean firmware without losing the future option to root the device again? I'm currently running one of the latest pre-rooted firmwares, so I've installed clockworkmod recovery.
I'm assuming I can install one of the old firmware versions that is still rootable? Not sure what functionality I'd lose?
What apps require you to be unrooted? Isn't there an Xposed module that will hide root from the app?
Sky Go and Virgin Anywhere. Wasn't aware of a module?
Checked the module and it doesn't work with those apps.

Did you try it, or just read about it? Rootcloak?
On the devs page it tells you it doesn't work with them.

Again, did you actually try it in case it does? It's not going to bootloop. And was it rootcloak?
Yes, root cloak. It specifically says on the page that it doesn't work, so is it really worth trying? Sky are notoriously strict with iOS and Android platforms.

Are you always so stroppy? I've explained that the dev says it doesn't work. The thread on xda also says it doesn't work. I'm not going to waste my time checking something that everyone says doesn't work.
Could anyone help with my original question please?
I've been waiting for ages for a root for A5CN701, yet no one has even tried to figure it out
I've also found a lot of posts showing how to downgrade to 5.0 but no one has made a detailed instruction and confirmed that it works!
Seriously, i've been dying for a method to root!
Anyone has any idea, please share at this topic! Much appreciated!
I'm in the same situation as you. I have been waiting for root too or the instructions how to downgrade to previous version.
This is by far the best Android tablet that I have ever used (previosly had Nexus 7 2013) and when you take it to hand and start use it you immediately feel what the quality means.

Kingroot?
You might want to see if Kingroot can root it. (It's here on xda.) It worked on my lockdown Tracfone.

Nothing to contact - just download their .apk and run it. You need a wi-fi connection while it's trying to root.

Assuming your downloaded .apk isn't corrupted (try downloading it again), you need to install the .apk (as opposed to "running" it). I assume you tried to install it, but I'm just covering the bases. Perhaps Lolipop has a security feature that prevents Kingroot from installing? (Although Kingroot says it works w/ 5.0.) And I presume you have allowed "unknown sources" to install under Settings > Security?

I tried everything at my disposal including automatic-rooting programs like KingRoot, no results!
Thanks for the suggestion anyway

Sorry to hear it didn't work. That, and the lack of ext SD, have convinced me to buy an Asus Zenpad S 8 instead. Cheaper too!
I really want to be able to do full backups of my phone, but losing the camera is obviously a no go. I assumed that a work around would be found by now, but can't find any recent discussion.
No.
Nobody could find a way currently, so they're waiting for Android 12.

There is literally a thread about installing the Beta 4 release. Go up one level in this forum to find it.
And yes, but you have to be on a certain software version. PLEASE read through that forum to find out what you need to do.

That's been deprecated with Android 12. And even before thst, many apps prevented adb from backing up their data. The only way I know of to get a full backup is with root.
Honestly, I've yet to find a way to get the data backed up without rooting. Given that almost all my apps either export a file to use as a backup, or I don't actually need a backup. But if you do, you might want to wait for the official update.

No problemo, good luck. I tried and it didn't work so I decided to wait.
future updates from Samsung aren't going to make more
things possible, the trend is that they make less things possible.
