Solid rom WITH htc sense - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I finally rooted my EVO with froyo. I now would like to know if there is a solid and stable rom out there that has all the stock evo looks (sense, phone, contacts etc etc) I also want to the ability to overclock.
Love how solid and fast cyanogen is, but I just don't like the look. I want a rom that is equally as solid and fast, but with all the stock like appearances. Not sure if something like that exists. Please let me know as I am a n00b to this whole thing.
Thank you in advance

I have been very happy w/ Fresh. Tried out Baked Snack and that's good too.

I have been using OMJ but it seems to be very lagy at times

Fresh 3.2 is a great Rom and very stable.

why not just flash a new kernel to the existing rom? Especially if you like the look and feel of the stock rom already, because the majority of the people cooking roms aren't offering you stability and performance, they're giving you their own personal cosmetic design preferences which often sucks, lol

The others posted are not stock looking,
This one is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743352. This one you can put multiple kernels on.

Fresh 3.2.0.0 is the only way to go. I've had great luck with the latest version. Excellent battery life and no issues at all. Everything just works.
I can't wait for Sprint/HTC to release the newest OTA and source so we can get this kernel into the hands of the devs.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't grabbing a deodexed stock 2.2 do the trick?

You guys all suggested excellent roms. As far as stability and stock look and feel go you may want to look at running a combination of the following ..
ROM - damage control 3.5 final
KERNEL - either netarchy's or king's latest stable version (I'm partial to netarchy but that's just me).
NO THEME
The only concern I'd have about running that myself is it's not running the newest release (like fresh is, for example), and I'm a geek that way Plus the newer release is nicer to my battery

nvm i fixed it! and can u tell me what is a good rom for my evo? cause i had the epic
The only ROM that I can recommend is MIUI. Every other ROM pales in comparison.
I would personally reccomend CM7...gingerbread...smooth and nice. A lot of people like MIUI...iphone look, but more features.
Its funny this thread started as a help me.... then turned into every other thread about which rom you prefer.....oldest trick in the book. Just kidding. Don't go all crazy on me.
I use cm7 wimax its pretty stable. A few bugs but its got 4g so I'm happy.
Sent from my WiMax infested cm7 Super...Mario...Saiyen...Street Fighter...oh yeah SuperSonic.gginggerbread!!!

It really doesn't look that much like iOS. Sure it bears a passing resemblance but believe me, it is all Android. No oreo for you.

Amidoinitrite???
I only say that cause there have been quite a few identical threads recently, identical to this, that are very easy to find. Also, that pic gave me teh lulz! Couldn't help it.
On a serious note though, all the roms seem to be pretty damn good in there own ways. I was on cm7 for a while and it was very stable for me. Just flashed cleanGB and samurai kernel the other day, and not only has it been rock solid, but my battery life has been outstanding! As always, though, YMMV. Try em all and see what you like best. Enjoy!

Hang out for a while. Read the threads on what the numerous roms contain. Find out what works for some and not for others. Some are geared for battery life, but you lose something in the process.
Try a few of them out. Look for qbking77's youtube tutorials on how to root/flash/theme/etc. Dont like a rom? Switch! It really is that easy.
Its like buying a new car. What would you like? There is no 'best', but rather what fits you.
Last but not least, when you ask a question, remember that there are some really smart people out here that rightfully just sit back and shake their heads at questions that are easily answered on your own with a little bit of searching.

SFR 1.2.
you can try a couple good kernels with it too. I used genocide.
Sent from my... Epic
Most are ROM's are stable, battery life well. I can kill my battery in 3-4 hrs of streaming music from network via bluetooth to a speaker... other wise I can go all day just about. Even with undervolting I only get marginally better battery life in general.
Some apps/widgets are just battery/cpu/gpu/memory/storage etc hogs. If you use your phone your battery will drain. That is a guaranty... usage = less battery
Like others have said your mileage may vary and usually does.
i prefer genocide too
I wish people would stop asking these kind of questions...even more I wish people would stop answering them. Just ignore them and maybe they will actually read the ROM threads like they are supposed to before flashing!
EVERY PHONE IS DIFFERENT!!! What is good for someone elses phone may be bad for yours. Flash and figure it out. Thank you and have a nice day!

Ordered a GSM Galaxy Nexus...now what?

I've been looking through the forums and to be honest the amount of options are kind of overwhelming. I'm looking for a ROM/Kernel combo to give me the best/most stable battery and performance combination. I don't want all day battery at the cost of having to underclock everything and killing every sync option I have, but I want no sacrifice in performance either. What are my options? Should I play it safe and go with the new CM9 or stick with vanilla ICS and just get a different kernel?
Oh and since this is my first unlocked phone, what APN should I be using? I'll be in New England mostly on AT&T if that matters at all. And will there be anything else I need to do once I get the phone on day 1? I just wanna make sure I'm prepared and good to go from the beginning.
I'd go with either CM9 RC1 or Black Ice/Kangorade. Franco's kernels work well with these ROMs.
Easiest route, unlock the bootloader, use the GenNex toolkit to push the recovery of your choice. Flash the ROM as directed, make mama proud.
Experiment. Mix and match and find the best match for your. With Android there is a lot of customization you can do.
Stay with stock first, and feel your way around. Once you get your sea legs then you can mess around. The Gnex is 90% brick proof if you know what you're doing. Just make sure that you unlock your bootloader first before you sync your Google account because unlocking wipes data for most phones.
APN settings usually populate when you stick your sim in. No need to enter it manually
AOKP has the most features, CM9 nightlies are pretty rad, and Bigxie's Jelly Bean is super slick. For kernels I've tried them all and bought everyone's apps but I like Trinity or LeanKernel. Been using Trinity for the last month or two exclusively, super happy. The world is your oyster with Maguro.
It boils down to what do YOU like from each ROM and which one stands out as best for you obviously. The great thing is just to try them all out. Lots are real good IMO. Don't forget to purchase Titanium Backup
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I was previously using AOKP ROM + Franco Kernel (latest milestone releases). I recently switched to Bigxie's JB ROM and I'm planning to try it out for a few days.
I would suggest to just try and experiment with the combination of custom ROMs and kernels. Each custom ROM and kernel provides different experiences.

Thanks guys, I've done some flashing before back with my Evo I just left for a while when almost no ICS Rom was stable enough to be a daily driver. I'm looking mainly for advantages between Cyan vs AOKP vs anybody else out there really. Like who they're mainly for and whatnot. I appreciate the feedback tho.

So..many..roms...need advice

So my Nexus has been under repair for the last two weeks. Just got it back last night.
When I sent it in for repair there were only a handful of roms, now there are like ...lots.
So, was wondering, what is considered right now by the Verizon community for the Nexus, the most complete, feature rich, stable working rom for Jellybean?
I know it's a loaded question, but hopefully someone can give some insight
you should trie this one!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613902
I`m using the maguro version and its great!!! its almost nothing you cant change on this rom!! It is simply amazing:laugh:

If you are interested in Jellybean, I would suggest Eclipse Jellybean. I have flashed Paranoid and Vicious and they are both very good ROMs but I really like the included features and continuous updates of Eclipse. I am on verizon as well and have had zero problems with the exception of the custom navbar utility. Not the navbar itself, mind you, just the utility that allows you to customize the softkey icons on the fly. Otherwise, the features are great and they don't include a ton of useless features and mods that will add to instability, kill your battery, or just slow your phone.
Well, I think that ParanoidAndroid is one of the best rom.
The hybrid mode made your phone looks completely different. It's awesome.
It's based CM10.
The thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619582
Unfortunately, not everything is so good in this rom. The actual versions are not very stable (maybe for the CM kernel). I would recommend to wait untill ParanoidAndroid 2.0 (which should be very stable).
This is an example of how my Gnex looks like:

I wanted to post this here for anyone out there who did not know this was available. Also for anyone like me who wanted to enjoy Google Now, but does not currently want to run Jellybean at this time. I installed this yesterday and it has been working flawlessly on my GNex running AOKP M6!

PS dont be worried, I know it looks a little naked. I just havn't gotten to setting up any cards, I've mainly been toying around with the voice search and learning the commands. But the cards are fully funtional, they were there after I installed the app, but I deleted them.
That is great and all but why on earth would you not be running JB right now? I can see other devices excited about this but we can have the whole package!

not sure how to answer this without sounding rude but...its my phone, i run what i want. sorry, not sure how else to word it.
if someone had a gun to my head and forced me to give an explanation other than that, it would be that I love AOKP, and i want to wait until there is an AOKP JB release.
ive never been one to run and grab the newest thing the second it hits the shelf (no pun intended). id rather sit back and wait until everything i want in a rom is available and stable. ive tried jellybean, i flashed it, explored it, and was not 100% satisfied with what it had to offer thus far, so i flashed back to aokp with which i am 100% satisfied. i certainly experiment with new things when they come out, but I love my phone and I will not sacrafice my personal experience just to be able to say that i have the newest thing. instead, i will hold strong, and monitor the new thing until im ready to run it on a daily basis.
hey, you asked

I dont run JB because AOKP Milestone 6 runs better/smoother than JB and has more tweaks implemented.
