[Q] date format modify - HD Mini Themes and Apps

Hi,
what changes do I need to register to change the date format?
"Sat, September 18"
at
"Sat, sept 18"
Thanks a lot
mic

I'm not sure for the values, but the paths for date format are:
(Long format)
HKLM\\nls\overrides\SLDte
(Short format)
HKLM\\nls\overrides\SSDte

You don't send the values, you already have.

Thank you,
but I do not have the strings "SSDte" and "SLDte"
I only:
"ITime"
"ITLZr"
"ITMPN"
"STFmt"
"STime"
I've tried to create them:
SSDte = dd MM yyyy
SLDte = dd MMM yyyy
but does not work.
I do not know how,
my ROM is "Tom.Photon.v1.2 WWE"

I think that you can't do anything with registry.
Maybe the solution is by changing some manila file.

yes, but i don`t find where

Someone, who knows, must make the new one, which will replace the old one.

I have change the regional setting
"menu/setting/system/regional setting"
and i have modify manila-language with "BsB"
then it`s ok, but i don`t know really why...

ROM Date? How, exactly. I tried putting another string variable into the Registry, but that didn't work. I have seen some mention of setting the ROM Date by editing file S000 in the NK.EXE Module, but nothing definitive.
Could you enlighten us further?
Thanks,

Thanks a lot, ark666. I'll give it a shot, although, my hopes are slim. I tried editing the .HV registry to add that additional string, but it didn't have any affect.
Maybe doing it via xml in the initial setup will make a difference, though, so it's worth a try.
Thanks again,

Oh well ... didn't work with my ROM. Only affected the Version, but I had that working already.
FWIW, I WAS successful in changing the ROM Date by hex-editing the NBH file prior to flashing. It was weird though ... instead of looking for '10/11/07', I needed to search for 'Oct 11 2007'. Changing THOSE two strings changed my ROM Date, as reported on the Device Info screen.
But now I'd also like to change the initial date in the Welcome setup so I don't need to bounce forward 9 months every time I HR. I had THOUGHT that changing the ROM's date would also change this, but no joy. Anybody have ideas on THAT one?
Thanks to all who helped with this.

Keyboard Layout

Hello. I've seen some threads about this, but none has helped me. So, I've a TP2 that came with a French ROM and now I've flashed it with a Portuguese one and it's working just fine. The problem is that the QWERTY keyboard is totaly mixed up, because the layout as been changed.
Assuming that it is not possible to change the hardware (if it is please tell me how!!!!!!), how can I modify the layout back to the original one???
Hope someone can help me and feel free to use this thread for the same kind of questions!
There is an easy way to fix it. You can do exactly as I did. Reflash the stock rom. Open a registry editor and export this folder
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
Then flash the rom you want and import that folder and you will be good.

So, changing the hardware keyboard is not possible, or is it?
By the way, if someone could get the folder for me, someone that has the French version, i wouldn't have to reflash the stock rom would I?
Is it is possible i would try to find someone that could get it for me...

I just don't see why you would go through the hassle. It takes 30 minutes to flash the stock, get the stuff, and flash back. It will take much more time to find manuals, wait for parts, etc to swap the hardware keyboard.
Yes, if you had someone else that can export that part of the registry, you would be good.

Quite true... I only thought about it because I'm so used with the QWERTY. But probably it's better just change the layout. Thank you for your help!!!
No problem!
I made the changes needed and it worked, by changing:
- HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD
CurLang = 1036
- HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout
Active = 0000040c
But there is still something wrong, like when I press:
FN + A... it should appears the "à" but it doesn't
FN + Z... should be "è"
FN + R... should be "é"
FN + S... should be "ê"
FN + D... should be "ô"
FN + F... should be "ù"
I think this are the only ones that doesn't work right... does anybody knows how to fix it?

Contents.xml

SystemFS\User\MultiStage\Contents.xml
You could extract this file from *.FFS or grab from handset.
Maybe some tweaking possible...

I already tryed to increase the max. resolution to 8000x8000px for jpg a week ago but it didnt worked
This file exists 2 times and I flashed them correctly to the wave (tested with sTunes after flash), the limits seems to be set somewhere else...
The image sizelimit is also higher than 4096000 byte (or what it is) - about 10 mb.
I would have liked to tweak this setting to 200 or more and see but unfortunately there are not that many good apps to install.
<MaxInstallCount>
<NativeApp value="300"/>
<NativeWidget value="50"/>
<JavaApp value="-1"/>
</MaxInstallCount>
Btw, what does this Java value mean ? Could it be that it controls whether to show icon in Menu or not ?

@ st0rmi
Thanks.
Yes, via sTune this file is twice.
It seems writeprotected files are most in folder SystemFS... as Backup.
If you check via TriX Firmware files. Then Contents.xml is in *.FFS... maybe edit before flashing. Then changes in both files on handset.
Not tested yet...
@ rex4u
At the moment I have nothing changed in this file, so no idea what happens.
Maybe soon few tests...

@adfree: Yeah thats what I have done
I just used sTunes to copy the contents.xml back to my pc and view if the edited xlm are really on my phone because it didnt worked...
@adfree
No bro' I was offering my own suggestions to this configuration file.
It might allow us to install more than 100 apps in phone and show in Menu.
Second it might show Java apps icons in Menu.
My 2 cents
xml parser
please help me
a want to parser punker xml data base.

it's into the 'app counter' field, '-1' may be means 'unlimited' number of java apps installable, but I haven't read yet the whole xml... anyway if it is editable it's an interesting thing..
I saw that file a while ago while looking for something inside my phone (very special thing that made me to copy the whole phone)
there is a lot of interesting things but i never tried tweaking it
Maybe if someone have enough knowledge to add few new extensions and test them
Also removing some stupid limits would be awsome
Sorry i've no time to test that with you guys but would appreciate results

You dont need modif ffs or other just use pfs file to modif what you want and in real time direct phone flash pfs file and not have write protect problem
Just says Thank
Example file : dont give attention of boot img cause i dont take time to do it in 800x480 but its 400x240 then its make bug but with pfs file you can upload anything you want to change !!!
Good hack !!!
Maybe with this you can create dual boot or i dont know what a pro smoker can do, you can also try to put her rc2 or rc1 directory i dont try it !!!
Download example, in this one you can see SystemFS and Registry directory, off course you can put her all directory you want to flash pfs, using trix to modified or wave remaker more faster :
https://rapidshare.com/files/809973956/Circle.pfs
An idea its like you can make your one firmware with personal Widget installed and other idea welcome....Just take file registry and Widget folder on phone and put it on PFS
i can not open new thread
i went to parser an xml file with structure like this.
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<node1>
<node2>
<node3>
<node4>

[Q] How to edit (HSMenuItem).rbm

Well, I just found where all the icons are stored. It's HSMenuItem.rbm in the RSRC1 file (folder RSRC/BMP/Black). If we could edit this, we could finally add helpful Java applications with the right (or selfmade!) icons.
Now, we can open and view rbm files in Wave Remaker, but is there also any way to edit them?

So, you already tried replacing? I noticed, same resolution, bpp, metod and mode don't necesarily mean same file size - so these files might be compressed. I then took a look at them using a hex editor and saw repeating structures inside which shouldn't be there in a compressed file. Duh...
Is Wave Remakers source code available? Cause, if it is, we could learn how these pictures are read.

Edit 1...
Forgotten... You can only set Debug to High... then maybe Bluescreen gives you more answers...

I'd rather recommend looking for the developer of the firmware to fix his own bug
The fix is easy
Know original CSC....get strings of that CSC
Compare Strings from original CSC with Modded ones
Find the bug and fix it
Place back new strings files via CSC flashing
Done !
I won't do it as i don't know anything about your custom except its name
Best Regards

A little up here.
I got the same problem with Turko v6 for S8530.
One other strange thing is that I can't delete my e-mail "basket". But no restart.
I will investigate a bit and send something if I find something.
I set debug level to high and I succeeded in deleting the "e-mail basket".
I got blue screen when trying to deleting messages
Seven. I took photos of them as much as I could as I was obliged to go 2 pages by 2.
By the way how to upload the content ? I found that I must press Home button during blue screen but which program should I use after entiring in upload mode ?
Rest is here
Sorry I had trouble with one I couldn't shot.
Simple Solution.
Just flash another firmware.

Yes but I don't want. It is not that grave since I have SD card.
For the moment I haven't the time to check problem if solvable without flashing another firmware.
