I tried installing the vanilla lock screen but it got stuck on a boot loop. So I went into recovery, wiped data, cache, and dalvik, and tried reflashing the rom but now its stuck on the htc EVO 4G white screen. Tried several times already. Not too familiar with this stuff as I had someone else root my phone for me.
Edit: Nevermind I got it. Still with the HTC lock screen though. Not going through that scare again. What did I do wrong? All I did was flash the .zip I got from fresh's website that removes the htc lock screen and world clock, and installs the vanilla lock screen and got stuck in a boot loop.

Went into recovery and wiped data, cache, dalvik then went to install Fresh 3.4.0.1. It was done installing and I gave it a reboot. At first I thought it was just the first time installing a rom that was making it take forever to boot up, but I fell asleep and just woke up, and that definitely wasn't the problem. It's still on the boot screen with the white background and black htc EVO 4G. I haven't been able to get into bootloader so far.
Any ideas?

I had a similar problem once. I would just get stuck at the splash screen no matter if i tried going into recovery or just normally booting up. What fixed it for me was to just take the battery out and leave it out for 5 minutes. Try putting it back in, booting into bootloader, then into recovery. From there try wiping everything and then installing Fresh again.
Also, make sure you are using Amon_RA recovery, as it correctly wipes everything.
yea try that what he said. take the battery n try it one more time n see if that works
Hey XDA i have tried nearly everything i could think of and have asked nearly every one i know how to get the phone unstuck from the boot screen.. i hit the power button and get HTC evo 4g screen... on bootloader screens i get missing tmp boot image errors on everything i do..
-- all i did last night was flash the rom manager to 2.5.0.1 then booted into recovery, performed hard wipe, cleared partition, cleared the datviz or whatever that one is did all that x2 loaded virus airborne v5.1 then rebooted and bam STUCK...
-- im new at this android thing but this crash is such bs in my eyes i have to be missing something... any help would be wonderful thanks in advance..
Got a replacement evo 4g from best buy today and went to root it. Everything was good until I went to install new rom (*non sense evo deck 1.3) I must of forget to clear something because now my phone is stuck on the EVO white screen. I can boot into bootloader, but can't boot the phone or recovery it hangs in limbo on the white screen for forever. I'm hoping its a cache issue. Is there a zip out there that I can use to clear the cache and data by renaming it to PC36IMG.zip or another method? Should I try re-installing ra recovery? Thank you for any help.
Fix White Screen Hang Evo 4g
OK found a fix for my Evo 4g HERE It was suppose to remove root but that didn't happen which is perfect. It just reset everything and I was good to go again.
ok so heres what happened. this morning my phone started behaving weirdly. then it restarted and got stuck in a boot loop. I was running the newest aokp release. after the boot loop i restarted to recovery, i was using the team win one. i wiped cache and dalvik and restarted...still only to boot loop. next i tried factory wiping and reinstalling rom. still same thing, only then i couldnt clear the cache. if i tried it would just reboot.
on lunch break i figured id just odin back to stock. after playing with it a few times i got it to flash the stock back. after it rebooted the first time it went into recovery to clear the caches like it should but there was a red message saying cant locate efs or something. there was about 4 lines in red saying pretty much the same thing. and it said manual mode at the bottom.
ive tried wiping caches and restarting a number of times. I fallowed both the guides from the development section and from the general section. so i currently have the stock ics odined on the phone. it will boot to the rom and start. made it through the upgrading android part then once it gets to the home screen it will sit for a minute then reboot again and just boot loop. i can clear cache and make it boot back up but it just restarts after a few secondds.
please anyone know what to do? this is my second gs2.
hi!
a friend of mine brought his wfs (gsm) to me that i've unlocked and flashed custom rom before. it froze during the day when the phone was idle and when he tried restarting it was stuck on the white htc splash screen. nothing has been tampered with so i tried the following:
*trying to boot into recovery(which it had cwm and running without problems before): still stuck on white htc splash screen after selecting recovery option.
*trying to re-flash recovery-boot-system (different kinds, custom, stock) from hboot, successfully flashes, doesn't boot
*at last resort, i relocked the bootloader, created a goldcard and flashed "RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.26.401.3_Radio_47.23e.35.3038H_7.57.39.10M_release_261695_signed.exe" which successfully flashed, updated hboot, radio and flashed stock everything.
it finally booted into stock after 15 mins of splash screen. but when it gets to the locksreen, it doesn't respond to the touchscreen or the hardware buttons, the screen sleeps after some time, but hardware button lights stay on, and there's nothing i can do except for removing the battery.
i can't use adb logcat at this point since the debugging isn't enabled on the fresh rom.
after removing the battery and trying to reboot, it's stuck on htc splash again, i have to boot into fastboot, do a factory reset, wait another 15 mins to boot into the fresh rom to get stuck again.
my educated guess is that the nand is worn out.
any suggestions or questions about diagnosing what we might have?
thanks in advance!
up
anyone?
Did you try to reflash recovery?
Sent from my bowl of jelly!
i've reflashed cwm, didn't work. flashed stock recovery, but booting to stock recovery also took like 2-3 mins, more than it should have. flashed cwm again, doesn't boot into it, stays at white htc splash.
Well most of the methods that i know involve recovery, so you are pretty much screwed...
