Is it possible to extract a theme from a ROM?
More specifically the Vanilla Theme from SkyRaider Vanilla. (I want to put it over Virtuous.)
Vanilla Skyraider isn't so much a theme as its more of a rom that has been stripped of the HTC sense..
If you are looking for the vanilla look, look at aosp roms such as ruby, cyanogen, and shadowrom
Ya there is a big diff. between Rom's and Themes. The look that Skyraider has is what makes his Rom his where as a theme would be further modifications to the Skyraider look. Like a Blue theme for example.

2.3 Gingerbread looks really nice and I just wait for the devs porting it for the G2. I love how the new UI looks and I just have to have it now. I am currently running Ganii's theme for CM 6.1.1. If any one has a legit looking Gingerbread theme for Stock 2.2 please post below.

I have a very simple question that I am not sure about.. what is a since Rom?
A Sense ROM is based of the stock software and still has all or most of the features that came with the phone. Myn's, Fresh, Mik are all Sense ROMs.
AOSP ROMs are ROMs based off Android source code and don't have Sense at all, like CyanogenMod and MIUI.
Here's a semi useful link

A Sense rom is out of the box, HTC set up, with HTC apps, ect. Sense is HTC's personal user interface style for Android.
Okay sounds good cause I just wanted to make sure I thou it was stock Rom but custom roms are sence to so is vins plutonium Rom sence?

Yea, Virus roms are custom Sense based roms.
Do you think Cyanogen would bring out a sense ui rom rather than implementing some sort of sense touch to its roms?
Cyanogen is specifically only for AOSP rom's there is no chance that he will come out with a sense rom and also if you want the design of sense rom's you can use different widgets to achieve that.
Yeah, Sense is not what CM is about. And that is why there are a variety of ROMs from various chefs. If you want Sense, flash a ROM that has it.
Hi,
I'm running Black Ice - and the ROM itself is good, but I'm not a huge fan of the skin. The lockscreen is very dark and the symbols have changed, and also the statusbar has different icons which I'm not that keen on.
How can I restore the default cyanogenmod theme, is there a flashable zip that removes all of the custom skins?
Thanks
You should just switch back to cyanogen. Devs take a base and add a theme to it because they are targeting a specific look. If its not for you then switch to something else. If there are other themes available for a Rom they will be posted in op or someone in thread will post a working one. I don't think they are interested in going for the cyanogen look since cyanogen already has the vanilla look down.
I know the black ice devs don't want the vanilla look, and I'm ok with that. But you can skin roms in different ways, so surely one is the default cyanogenmod look?
The thread mentions copying systemui.apk and framework-res.apk but I'm not having any luck.
And blackice has some great tweaks, which is why I'm using it
Black ice is derived from cyanogen so you should be able to extract those two files from framework in cyanogen and push them to your phone and then reboot. What problems are you experiencing while trying this? You could try using the kitchen to swap the files.
Hi,
is there maybe a mod to have sense settings look like on AOSP roms?
I know there was mod like this on EVO, maybe is somewhere here.
Yeah you can theme it yourself if you want... But flashing an AOSP ROM is simpler
