What do you guys use for your buttons you can assign?

Sorry if this is not worth creating a thread.. But I am wondering what you guys use for your 3 buttons you get to assign anything to do for suggestions for myself.. I can't seem to think of any good ideas, I'm sure some of you have some pretty good ideas to help me.. Thanks a lot
1: Twidroyd Pro new tweet popup activity
2: Messaging
3: Launcher Pro.. w/ home button set to show notifications within LP. So home then notifs
I haven't even bothered to assign them to anything. Would probably be more efficient to just keep shortcuts on the home screen. I mean you get 4x4 apps per page with 7 pages that's 112 shortcuts. I don't really see the need to assign 3 buttons more.

I use them for the 3 things I use the keyboard for most: Messaging, Google Voice, and Talk. Once everyone starts using my GV number I'll probably replace messaging with Gmail. But I figure while I have the keyboard out those are the apps i'm most likely to be using, so I made them the shortcuts.

Help finding dialer

I just finished installing CM7 and i have launcher pro installed too but i can't find a way to make a shortcut to access the dialer because the phone icon always goes to contacts and i haven't been able to find a way to access my dialer to make a shortcut.
Should be an app called "Phone" in the app list.
Long press on home screen > shortcuts > applications, scroll down to phone.
^^What he said also.
If you open the app "Phone" in the app drawer, where does it take you? If it takes you to the dialer, just open the app drawer, long press the phone icon and drag it to your homescreen. Then long press again and drag to the location you want it in the dock.
download Dialer1 from market for cm7
Couldn't find that app and btw ppl the application "phone" directs me to my contacts and not the dialer so i'm still trying to find a solution.
anyone? i can't access my dialer through the phone app because it always opens contacts first which gets annoying when you want a quick shorcut.

Browser question

Hi all,
Before I venture into getting Dolphin or some other browser, looking to see if there are a couple of things the stock browser can do. Is there no way to get a button to go to the homepage? I know you can make a bookmark and go that route but one click is better than two. Also, is there no easy way to actually shut down the browser so when opening it the next time it opens to the homepage? How about clearing history, etc. on browser closing sort of thing. Do other browser have these sorts of functions?
Thanks,
Ho'okani

I searched far and wide on the expansive Play Store with the home page issue. The closest you're going to get is Boat Browser (Play Store link). It has a customizable bar at the bottom, where you can place a home button.
You can have it "prompt on exit" where you can check "clear records" and "do not ask me again." It clears the history and will automatically start your home page when you open it again. Boat Browser FTW!

Dolphin browser has the option to put the home button on the address bar - as well as the basic cache clear menu on exit.

[Q] On demand pop-up browser?

I like the idea of the pop up browser, but would only use from time to time. For apps asking how to open up a link, I tell them to open using my default browser always because that's how I want to view most of the time.
Is there a way to call up the pop up browser on demand from links? I'm thinking if I could long tap a link or double tap a link, it could open the link in the pop up browser. Keep in mind the source of the link could be any app, another browser, G+, Facebook, etc.
I know there is a mod to launch a stand alone popup browser, but I don't think that solves what I am asking about.
The developers of Air Calc have had a floating browser for a long time. They are currently making it available for 4.0+ android devices, i believe. I tried to download it to my Note 2 but it is not yet available.

...or at least offer "open link in popup browser" as a choice...that would have been the right way to implement this, because heck if I'm going to leave the defaults off so that 99.99999% of the time when I click a link destined for a full browser I then have to select "Browser" and then press "Just Once" all to open a simple web page. At the very least they could have put in a checkbox in the app selector box that would select the tapped browser in "Just Once" mode the moment you tap, so you don't have to confirm each time.
Sorry, I don't have a solution, I'm just completely echoing your sentiment about this.
I have a bookmark on the home screen that is defaulted to the pop up browser.
It is the only way I know to get the pop up browser on demand.
I press and hold link, copy url, press home button, hit my bookmark (I renamed pop up), then paste the url.
Hope this helps.
You can set the pop-up browser as default and hit the button on the top left to open the page up in the regular explorer.
Only problem is that this will open the stock browser. Which is frustrating if you usually use a third party browser like me!
Does anybody know how to make the top left button in the pop-up browser open Chrome rather than the stock browse?
That would be nice because I have all my data synced to Chrome.

Mine automatically opens in chrome when I click the top left button without setting anything up, I checked and there are no defaults set for either.

How did you accomplish this? Is there a pop up settings menu to set your default browser?
For everyone, floating browser flux in the play store might be an option.

Opening link from text

When opening a link from a text, it opens in a window, but it never fully loads. It did this on my first Note 7 and now on my new one. I have to go to the top right menu button and choose Open In Browser.
How do I stop it from opening in this app first, and go straight to my browser?
Thanks.
So far as I can tell, you can't. You can use a different message app though. I'm using True Messenger. A few things I don't like about it, but it does solve that problem.
