Is there an app or widget that can display the text message you last received on the widgetlocker lockscreen?
As you guys know, with the Sense UI lockscreen if your phone is locked and if you receive a text it will show you who sent the text, what time they sent it and a line of text what they said on the lockscreen. Widgetlocker does not do this and I talk to the developer and he said there are tons of apps on the Market for this but I cant seem to find any (he's not for sure if he's gonna add a last message received option on the lockscreen anyways).
Can you help, I really miss this option (and a native music app on the lockscreen as well).

Not sure what version you're using. My suggestion is contact the dev. I'm using a beta version that lets you "hide" sms so my impression is that in upcoming versions this may be working.
The dev's website is:
http://teslacoilsw.com/
I have the latest version, 1.26, there is an option to hide 3rd party SMS apps but for the native Sense UI there is no options to show. Thats what I'm using native Sense UI for all my text messages. I have talk to him but he doesn't really have plans to incoroprate it (or not high on his priority list for future WL updates).
My only suggestion and then I'm going on my way, contact kevin from teslacoilsw
He's pretty good about responding.
Thanks.
Any others can help?
Messaging widget. Throw one of those on there. That's what I did. Works great. Then you can reply to it whenever you want. Right on The lockscreen

I'm running the latest cyanogenmod on my desire at the moment but the one thing i am missing about the classic htc sense OS is the dialer. I hate hate hate the built in one with cyanogenmod, and miss being able to link contacts, add their Facebook photos as callerid and having their Facebook status displayed when they call. I also miss having the ability to just start typing a name or a number and it searching.
I'm referring to this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So what I am asking is; is there a way to make this happen?
Thanks in advance!
you MIGHT be able to get a theme to make it look similar to this, but you probably wouldn't get any of the functionality.
agreed
I'm with you 100% velk.
The dialer in the CM is garbage. I'm thinking of switching to MIUI.
I'm running cm6 nightly and I downloaded dialer one from the market , that's a great dialer.. Very similar to htc sense. Try that before switching roms.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Maybe try Dialer one in the market? Not as good as sense dialer but better than stock for sure.
haha, I happen to be the opposite, I'm trying to use aosp dialer on sense roms

haha lol~~
i love Sense dialer but yesterday i found a replacement on my OpenDesire. Try Youlu address book guys, its very clean!! and IMO, sense dialer challenger.
I'm on Cyanogen and I still have Facebook integration in the contacts list.
If you'd be interested, maybe we can write an app to replace the stock dialer... I'm in the process of trying to write a camera app to replace the stock one. I can definitely do the graphics for skinning the app... coding is a bit of another story ;D Might need a crutch for that.
Use Dialer One, as many ppl suggested. It works with no bugs, it is highly customizable and the developer is quite responsive.
I'm using Dialer One on CM 6.1 now, but is there any way to change the 'shortcut' of the standard dialer and make it point to Dialer One (or another dialer)?
I'm using Youlu Address Book and CM6.1 and what I did was dropped a shortcut to Youlu on the desktop, then if you pick it up and drop it in place, you can set a custom icon for it (I chose the phone icon from the Gingerbread icon pack I'm using for ADW Launcher). Then I dropped it down on the favorites bar.
Thanks, that did it! Didn't know the bottom bar was a favourites bar
Yeah, I just have my dialer, app drawer, and sms down there, the things I use the most

You know you can also expand it from 3 to 5 if you want to add a couple more apps.
Rocket dialer seems much better and great customazible
But sense from liberty rom is very nice
hey guys.
i'm looking for a widget i can use with widgetlocker to either
1) have two 1x1 widgets each showing me a count of unread sms and unread emails (not gmail, k9 mail inbox)
OR
2) have a 4x1 widget that lists both sms and emails as they arrive
SMS Unread count gets pretty close to #1 but only works with GMail. any suggestions?
Check out Executive Assistant. It has a 4x1 widget that is exactly what you are looking for (even supports Exchange email). In fact, I liked it so much I dumped Widget Locker and started using the EA lockscreen instead (it's a lot less buggy).
SMS Unread Count.
Edit: Nevermind I saw you had SMS Unread count.... I haven't found anything else either....

i'm trying Executive Assistant and it seems to work. what sucks is i can't have two 1x1 icons with sms on one and email on the other. no matter what size it is, it will always show whatever apps i tell it to. so a 1x1 icon has sms and email just like a 2x1. problem with that is i can't put them on either side of battstatt...ahhh
I'm using SMS Unread Count + the email widget from CM6 for this exact purpose.

No idea, sorry. You may want to check the CM thread and ask. I'm really surprised there isn't another third party option.
well i think the best i can do is use SMS Unread Count for SMS and Executive Assistant for emails. let me try it out and i'll post a pic if it works out.

How did you get your lock screen like that ? CM6 ? I've been looking for something like that for a long time for my lock screen - weather, time, and all..
that's using WidgetLocker....
i give up. executive assistant had difficulties connecting to hotmail...and on top of that it has a smaller icon than SMS so they dont match up (i switched the icon .pngs for both but executive assistant shrinks down the icon within the widget space).
any other suggestions? i just need a widget to pick up number of unread emails. preferably would allow me to click and open K9 mail.

YES!
ripped it from CM RC 6.1 and installed it. it works as a standalone email app that actually works with Hotmail!
and it provides me with a lockscreen widget that actually works and updates with Hotmail!
i'm attaching the .apk for anyone who wants it...
use this + sms unread count and you have both
Won't work on HTC Legend!
Hi all, I have been spending the last couple of days getting my SGS2 setup and I am very pleased with the Juggernaut ROM all except a few minor things.
I am coming from an HTC HD2 running an HTC Desire based ROM. I really liked Sense and the widgets it came with. I see a lot of alternative launchers out there to replace TouchWiz on the SGS2, but has anyone ever tried to put Sense on one of these?
What I specifically miss about Sense and my old ROM is
1.) The calender widget - It was simple and automatically integrated with Facebook so I could see everyone's birthdays in the month view. I was surprised to see that the calendar widget that came in the Juggernaut ROM didn't do this. I have been all over the market searching for a widget that would do this, but have found none.
2.) The SMS widget - It was simple and made it very easy to navigate message threads from one of my home screens. Beautiful Widgets Pack 2 has a widget that is close to what I want, but it is not the same.
3.) The SMS threading - The Juggernaut ROM uses an SMS threading system similar to the iPhone message bubbles (yuck!). I would really like to change this to almost anything else, mostly so my GF doesn't say my SGS2 copied her iPhone
Don't consider these things complaints, they are just things I would like to have changed to my liking and I was hoping someone would point me in the right direction.
Launcher pro has a calendar like sense, also SMS widget and other

Yeah, I tried that one already, but it does not get the birthdays for Facebook. It has an option to display birthdays, and I have it selected, but the birthdays still don't display. I don't care so much what the calendar looks like (that one does look nice though) as long as it is a month view and displays Facebook birthdays.
Update:
I got the default calendar working with Facebook. Even though I had my Facebook account setup on the phone, it was not setup on the calendar. Once I put it in all worked as I had wanted.
Android pro Widgets is the best way to get sense like Widgets. You can use it with any launcher that supports scrollable Widgets. Not sure about Facebook Calender sync though . Never tried it
I just tried this you can sync Facebook event calendars with google calenders. So that's pretty nice.
techbu.com/2011/02/04/how-tosync-facebook-birthdays-with-google-calendar
Also there are several SMS replacement apps in the market. I use handcent.
Like panda said these things you listed have nothing to do with Juggernaut and everything to do with touchwiz and samsung.
I would suggest the complete ICS theme on it. Biggg difference

Working on a new home screen. Trying to find a widget that displays notifications for the following:
Essential:
Sms
Missed calls
email
Not as essential:
Facebook
twitter

"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

}
The widget needs to open the application too.
Similar to how the iPhone works.
Try "SMS Unread Count".
There is also MissedIt: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sIm5ldC5pZ2VjZWxhYnMuYW5kcm9pZC5NaXNzZWRJdCJd and Executive assistant+ :https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDEsImNvbS5hcHB2ZW50aXZlLkV4ZWNBc3Npc3QiXQ..
I, personally use MissedIt.
other option
you could also try ADW Notifier.
I bought missed it earlier, can't find where to put the transparent .png on my sd card though. The directory isn't there.
I use launcher pro plus but the ADW Notification seems to be spot on what I am looking for.
EDIT: Just tried ADW, doesn't support more than 7 grid landscapes. That's what I am using. So back to square one.

For MissedIt you don't need any .png image, just play with settings, there is an option to make transparent background, just have fun with it.
Worked with go launcher and go launcher notification:
Thanks for the help.
The ultimate way is minimalist text, a free App from market, but to display missed call u will need taskers a paid an must have App, it can display the name, number of the last incoming n outgoing call
As u can see in the screen shot :"raju" is the name of the incoming call click on it n u either directly call the person or show call log

I use Nova Prime as my launcher on my Sprint Galaxy Nexus and have always wondered why there has been a lack of development on the "unread count" feature that is included with the Prime version of Nova.
I recently switched from the Tesla Unread Count apk to Missed It! 3.3.4 in hopes that Missed It would display notifications better.
Both options do just fine at showing unread texts or missed calls over the icons for my phone and messaging .apks but I wanted to try Missed It! hoping that it's ability to recognize and share notifications from any app that is able to display a notification in the status bar... would show a count over the app icon in the same way it does for calls or texts.
For example, I get Facebook notifications in my status bar, but I am looking for something that will display the same type of notification on the homescreen shortcut for Facebook on my homepage. Or Instagram notification over the Instagram icon on my homescreen.
I guess I am asking for help in finding the right way to put an app shortcut on my homescreen... and have a notification count show up on the icon of that app, plain and simple. I have a fairly simple 3 screen layout and I hide the Nova dock unless I need it. I've got a UCCW Google Now widget on a black background with a nexus logo which opens up my app drawer. I am slowly trying to minimize my homescreens and always auto-hide my status bar is the ultimate goal.... and I need help learning how to still get all the notifications I will need to see from my most used apps which is a very short list.
Missed It seems able to see notifications for any of the apps i need, but as far as i can tell it will only display them in an ugly widget format. Please suggest an alternative or suggestions(besides go develop my own app... I'm learning!) that could provide a solution to my hopeful set up.
Thank You very much in advance!
Mods, I hope this post is not breaking rules.
Please advise if it should be moved to Q&A or General.
And if I should delete and repost.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I'm not real sure if I am following you on your question. With the Telsa Plugin, it does show a count on the icon on the both the homescreen and in the app drawer. Nova with the plugin works really well.
