Google Earth for Desire

Guys,
Anyone know where I can find google earth app for my desire??
Tried the market and the google earth website too, but was not able to find it...
Also, if possible, could u all let me know from where I can download android apps directly to my PC...

It is on the Android Market but only seems to be for certain areas.
I debranded my phone using a european ROM and couldn't find Google Earth anywhere but when i switched to a WWE ROM i found it on the Market straight away. If you want to debrand there's plenty of info on this forum.
Lots of people rave about App Brain which lets you browse the Android Market from your PC and then install them directly to the phone when you log in to the App Brain mobile app. It keeps record of your downloads like Android Market, too. As far as downloading directly to your PC i am not sure if it lets you do that.

Can you get Google earth with the standard orange Rom ?

i seen it with tmobile rom and now having the devillain see it as well

ok, what's the fix? i'm running mcr 3.1 and can't see it on the market. i have it installed via downloading an older apk only

I don't remember seeing it on my Orange branded Desire but it was there after i debranded to a WWE ROM.

Wow, I really feel like zooming through the Earth on my phone today! Maybe I should check MY pm?................. *cough*

My phone crashes when I try to install it from the market. OpenDesire 2.0.

@tommo123: there was no fix, I was just sending them app since they didn't have it on market

Try debranding your phone with one of the WWE ROMS, i used one from the ROM list in the development section and now my phone is fully debranded and has fully working google earth from the android market.
This is the ROM i use

i'm running mcr 3.1, i think it's unbranded. anyways, so google made their app not appear on the market if i have a subsidised phone as opposed to buying a generic one outright?

I live in Dubai,UAE and the Skype website is blocked. I can't find Skype on market.

Okay, tried downloading the app on the galaxy S with froyo and it keeps on saying Skype cannot be installed. Please free some space even though I have more than 700 mb available. Anyone else suffering from the same problem?

Buddy you don't really need skype just use nimbuzz its awsome even fringe is awsome but it does not work in dubai

I have the APK that works on the SGS flawlessly.....i use it almost on a daily basis....i already pm'ed you earlier. ill email it to you

This is the latest skype and should work fine, make sure you uninstall skype first.

I just wanted to say thank you for this! I'm in japan and there is no skype for mobile out here. This is working perfectly on my japanese version of the galaxy tab. I will next install it in my xperia x10, hopefully it will work on it too.
Do you guys know if this mobile version will implement video calling anytime soon?

No. it 's the 1.0.0.538. It works more or less good . I haven't seen any 1.0.1 or earlier .614 version

Now on gingerbread update and market apps missing

Upgraded to gingerbread through htc dev website all working ok but alot of apps i used to have are not on the market when i search for them, yet on a friends htc sensation running gingerbread it can find them! Is this a known problem?

Are you in UK? I had a similar problem. It's because the locale on the update is set to U.S.
Download morelocale2 from market and set your desire to the right country

Another thing to try is to delete the market app cache. Helped me.

Hmmm.. Thanks for the help but both suggestions have not solved the problem, still can't find itv player etc... Any more ideas?

Did you tried to access market via browser?
For example when I try to search for "google+" via market it is not appeared in list, but via browser it is appearing and on install stage told me that: "This application is incompatible with your HTC Desire" .I live in Bulgaria and it is not marked for distribution in my region. Just try to access market via browser to look what is yours situation.

All apps are being searched for using market, but i have located itv player using Google and some search terms and downloaded using mega upload. But it's definitely an issue with this phone as my colleagues find it using sensation

[Tutorial] Get Back Old Google Market Permanently

Hello Friends
I don't know if someone already posted this. But I did it myself so m posting here.
First of all to get back old market you need root access on your phone. After that an app that can control system apps like link2sd or SD maid etc. Using that app find an app named "market updater". Freeze that app. Then uninstall updates of Google Play Store (updates only). That's it , now start using old Google market
If you wants to get back to Google Play Store just unfreeze the market updater app n update the market.

I can tell you why I do it on my ROMs: speed!
The older Google Markets are objectively faster than the new. Time it and see for yourself.

Before rooting my wfs when ever I open the play store and look around for any app, for many of times it shows network error, I don't know why it was happening and it also take too much time to load an app info. I have read many times on xda that old market is working good then new one so that's why I did it

what can I do please?

Full wipe and flash Rom again. Backup your apps and data first.

Freeze sheets. Assuming that's an app. Problem gone.

WTF is sheets?
Dirty re-flash the ROM. If that doesn't help, then try clearing the cache/data of the sheets app in settings. (I found sheets on the play store)
If that doesn't work, look for an alternative spreadsheet app. There are plenty available. Polaris Office is pretty good, and in your app drawer.
