i had tom tom 5.1 working fine on my exec but now i have put the latest rom on i can not get tom tom to run.
I have instaled the cab files and it shows tom tom in the menu but when i trie to run tom tom nothing happens.
tried 5 5.1 and 5.2.
any ideads guys? could me be me doing something wrong.
After updating the O2 rom I re-installed Tom Tom using the 5.21 update from my PC, then I copied the engf.cab for the female english voice to my storage card and ran the cab there.
For bluetooth I paired my bt308 and linked it to new com8 port and selected that in Tom Tom.

Hello !
I own a Orange SPV M700 with GPS Support and I I have an issue with my Mini SD and my SIM+ :
It seems that tomtom only check the first flash card it find in order to search the maps, but the first card is always the SIM+, where I have only 128 MB.
Do you same issue with Artemis ? Do you have any idea for fixing it ? (except changing the system folder "my documents")
I also have a question for french users : does one of you own a map of Paris for tomtom 6 ? If yes how big is it ? And is there a possibility to give it to me ?
(If it's not too big it may help me as a temporary solution...)
Thanks !
Hi,
Maybe my post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285511&page=9 will help?
Hi,
I have a french HTC P3300 that is delivered with TomTom.
Unfortunately, TomTom is included in the WM5 rom.
I would like to flash to WM6 but will I loose TomTom?
If yes, can i retrieve it in any way with the serial number?
Or is there a way to dump my WM5 rom with TomTom to be able
to downgrade to the original form in case of problem?
My HTC is not locked on any provider, I bought it on amazon.
Thanks

I would have thought that Tom Tom comes on a micro sd card rather than as part of the rom.
Otherwise any update now or in the future would be futile as you will lose it.
Has the phone got a memory card in it?
If yes use active sync to browse to the storage card
do you see any cab files for tom tom on there?
let me know and I wil try and help.
alternatively contact tom tom and tell them your serial number and I have been told you can download tom tom software free but just need serial number to use it and also have the maps.
Finaly if it indeed is stored on the phone are you sure it isnt on a disc of some sort that cam with the device.
I will try and help whre possible but give more detail in your post. ie what you have tried etc
magpie2000k, I baught my micro sd seperately so I donn't think that i'll find any cab on it exept the one of the tomtom upgrade. I am at my office and don't have activesync here, i'll try when I get home this evening.
I have a cd delivered with my phone, and with a wm5 sn on it, could it be a restor disc? how can i check if there is in fact the install for tomtom on it?
DrakkoFR, i'll stay in english as it is the rule of the forum. The official install could be interesting. I don't have it so i would be interested in it. But how can I register on the TomTom site for futur updates? And yes, i don't know if the maps will be recognised.
Tank you both for your answers.
The easiest way:
copy all the files from \Program Files\Navigator to Storage Card\Program Files\Navigator.
After flashing just create shortcut (using i.e. resco Explorer).
This will keep all your settings and maps activation. And you will save up some space and a time...
I done like this and it works on my xda orbit.
There is no need to install tomtom any more.
How to upgrade to WM6 and keep supplied TomTom

There is a working solution nicktheshaft, I use this to run tomtom all the time no problems, and it basically allows you to run tomtom from the memory card with no instal to your p3300, saving about 5mb of ram also.
1-With your WM5 rom loaded simply copy the folder tomtom from your p3300 (my device/program files) to your memory card root, (the folder should contain tomtom navigator.exe, data chk file etc.)
You can test this by uninstalling tomtom after you have copied the tomtom folder to sd card, then running tomtom from this folder on sd card, i.e tomtom navigator.exe
You then upgrade to WM6 and create a shortcut from the folder on your memory card (create a shortcut from tomtom navigator.exe in this new location on your memory card, and put it in my device/windows/start menu/programs), you will then be able to assign a button to launch tomtom from the settings menu.
thank you all for your advises...
I think I am soon going to flash to WM6 )
Is the flash easy? Do I just run the update or must I Unlock the CID knowing that my HTC is not operator locked?

Mate you must run USPL first then your rom of choice.
USPL removes the CID problem and then flashing should be a breeze.
Note that when flashing with USPL you device will return to what apperas to be a normal state (ie it lokks no different and has all contacts etc intact.)
This put me off at first because I couldnt see that there was any difference. I have now flashed a number of devices and used USPL over 30 times and not once have I had any problem at all. If in doubt read the idiots guide thread I think about half way down on the first page is a full written process of how to do it. Follow it and all will be well.
I am using B&B 3.7 from Tom and it is great has no issues with TOMTOM working. yes it has one or two very minor bugs that irritate rather than annoy. But these are certainly acceptable for the benefits of the WM6 and the rom interface that it has.
Photo contacts is a dream.
Shortcuts to everything you need. I very rarely use the stylus now even my fat fingers can navigate through and it becomes a truely one handed device.
When I had original rom i had to use stylus all the time. Thanks to Tom that to some extent is a thing of the past. Still use stylus for writing texts and emails but thats about it.
good luck and I am sure you will not be dissapointed.
Maybe i'll give it a try.
What are these little bugs?
Does the VOIP work on this version?

Questions questions questions
The bugs are minor.
In the dial pad you have to go into call history to redial last number. There is a fix but you lose the lovely large buttion dial pad I beleive (its no great shakes.)
when typing a phone number iut is green in dial pad and not easy to see what you have typed. again very livable and probably a fix somewhere ie a registry tweak or something. As I normally dial numbers of people in my address book it very rarely causes me a problem.
The others for what they are I cant remember you tend to find work arounds that in time become the norm and then arent bugs at all if you catch my drift.
I dont believe you will regret it.
VOIP works for me
thanks magpie2000k, i'll give it a shot this evening if i have time.

yes, it always is. just don't forget to flash your device first with pof's USPL. then you can flash it with any rom you want. what french rom do you have? is it htc french rom? or m650? with the htc rom you may not have any probs, but i'm not really sure with m650, it usually has problems with gps functionality when flashing with a different rom. but just to be on the safe side, it is always useful to have a backup of your original rom, incase something goes wrong.
and NEVER, NEVER, NEVER forget.... number one rule: ALWAYS flash your device with pof's USPL each time you want to flash your device with another ROM.

hope everything goes fine for you. even if your phone's unlocked, if you had problem flashing the rom, try pof's. it does work wonders!
Friends I must tell you - IGO8 is working very well on the Pro2
Now even that there is thread could you help me to run TCM
I`m so close to have the solution for IGO and TMC ...but I need just a little help.
I do habe IGO8
beemer and hyper is installed
by the way when I test hyper it finds GPS informations
Radio is running
My IGO8 is using COM4 and I have a Pro 2
AND I changed the system ini and it looks as follows:
[tmc]
auto_tuning="1"
saved_config_available="1"
saved_config_classname="NMEA_GPSTMC_ROYALTEK"
saved_config_portname="COM"
saved_config_port="4"
saved_last_tuning_mode="0"
saved_last_frequency="958"
What is missing ?
THANK YOU
I'm using a standalone GPS/TMC adapter (over bluetooth) for TMC info; GPS comes from the internal GPS chip.
iGO8 didn't recognize my TMC until I added the following to my system.ini manually:
[tmc]
auto_tuning="1"
saved_config_available="1"
saved_config_classname="NMEA_GPSTMC_ROYALTEK"
saved_config_portname="COM"
saved_config_port="2"
saved_last_tuning_mode="1"
saved_last_frequency="1027"
After that it worked perfectly. Not sure whether you should use the ROYALTEK-protocol for TMC over the internal FM-radio too though.
Hi guys,can you tel me please which version of igo8 you are using exactly?i'v had a HD before tp2 but now it sames not compatible with my new device.
Using 8.3.2.83157 here, which works perfectly.

Thank you very much for your replay,i have an Italian Rhodium version,i should modify something in text.sys file?
I have following Issue with my Igo8: After using my TP2 a while, when I want to start Igo8 (the latest version by the way) I get following error:
"failed to reserve virtual address"
After I have made a reset, Igo8 starts flawless. Does someone else have the problem too? And can anyone have a solution for this?

I have the same problem too, what I did was usually I disable the T3D before I run the iGO8 (8.3.2.x), this usually help without have to reset my TP2. That is why iGO support said they did not cerified it work on TP2 (even most people said it work great on TP2). Used at your own risk.
