I've got the same problem (more or less). When I download a file it:
says: "waiting for data connection" (both on wifi and mobile network), or
downloads only a few KBs, thus making the file useless, or
sometimes downloads completely (after a few tries).
Also tried with stock browser and Dolphin HD.
Actually the download on ny handheld will not even beggin in the firat place..

Try to download via wifi first.. if it is not a problem, then you should upgrade your dataplan..
In the old gprs/wap era, some are capped at max 300kb per download

my browser can download files fine... apk and doc have been downloaded numberous times.
I just navigate to it with either docs to go or quickoffice to open

I have a Samsung Epic 4G Touch and im having minor issues. Why is it when I try to download a zip files it says unsuccessful? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to enable something or download an app? Everytime I see something on XDA that I wantt download, I just simply cant.
It's the stock browser blocking the download. Try Opera or Dolphin HD.
I tried Dolphin and it downloads the zip file, but it gives me a warning message that no application has been found to open this file. I also tried an Opera and the same thing. Do I need a specific app in order to open them?

Androzip to open zip files
Also try to download astro file manager and go to preferences for that app then check the box to enable browser downloads.

Thank you, it worked.
My downloads keep failing, and it sucks having to restart them from 0%, is there a app that will allow me to resume failed downloads? Ty
Edit: Crap not where I wanted to put this...

I don't know of one but you could try opera mobile browser. It is very good with downloads.
Install this. It will let you download nearly any file in the stock browser.
Download this file and rename the extension to .apk instead of .txt
cant download from subscene.com
its site for subtitles
in other meaning i can download it but when i open it says bad zip file
but when i download it from comp its ok
no proplem there
i tried diffrent mobiles all android no good
diffrent browsers no good
What file do you want to download?
Try unzipping (extracting) the files with file expert or es file explorer. They did the job for me in the past...

if you are downloading from particular sites such as rapidshare i know i have problems with sites like those on ym phone. If the file is about the right size though try changing the file extension manually with root explorer. Does this happen with all files you download online or just videos? Does it happen on a particular site?
It happen with zshare,I can download zip ,apk, picture, and rar..but video format no...=\

Doesn't make sense that you can basically download anything from there but videos give you hassle, maybe it is the size off the file. What is the free limit from zshare
Not that site only, some other site also..but I forget the name and idk the free size limit,I only download once.=\

I have installed Dropbox app on my phone. Every time I want to read the file, I notice it downloads on my phone and then opened it with the office app. It is too slow in certain occasion. With no internet connection area, it does not work at all. How can I download the files in my phone so I can open them immediately from the phone rather than downloading files on demand. Thanks!
Open a file then click to export it to your sd card. You can also click the down arrow beside the file name and click share. Share to sd card is an option.

Thanks for your advice.
I think this is what you need: https://www.dropbox.com/help/87/en
Had the same problem, found a useful little free app called dropsync on the play store which did the trick.
It keys tot sync files/folders from Dropbox to your device so you don't have to download the files every time, plus it keeps the directories synced (or not, if you should so choose)

Usually. .if you download a file from Dropbox once. It is already on your phone in internal sd/ Android/data/.com.dropbox.xxx/ cache/scratch/files/
You can check it out. .
Once downloaded. .it doesn't download again. .checks cache and sees if it is there. .and opens from cache

I personally use Solid Explorer (similar to windows explorer) to get into my Dropbox and just copy the file to a folder I want. Then I just open it with an app of my choice.
